True. Bioware's gotten into the habbit of silently releasing DLCs lately. So it's difficult to know if this was another one of those instances, or an early leak from Xbox Live. It's been pulled now, so it's anyones guess. Could be to fix bugs, could be to recover from a leak. Someone in another thread said they saw it in their Origin at 12am their local time. So it's possible it could be released tomorrow, but IDK.

What's even more hilarious is that this pack has been on since 12am 7/7/15. If it was indeed an early leak, it really shows how infrequent they visit these forums as we've been talking about this since the moment it hit the xbox marketplace. It was taken down over 12 hours later.

Very strange.

Thank you for the review a part of me wants it but a part of me wishes they included that hair for my Qunari to! Maybe if they threw in that hair I might buy the DLC, when it comes out on origin. Whenever that is.

I sometimes get the feeling that Bioware forgets that DAI exists then remembers "Shouldn't we do a DLC?" and chuck something at us, its just so strange how they have treated this game. Hopefully its a sign of a story based DLC to come?

IKR! I wanted new hairs too!!! And their marketing strategy has been quite strange.

If this were indeed a leak, Bioware may be contacting you or youtube to remove the video. I believe you are the only one to have uploaded content about this.

I'm happy to take it down if they wish. Though I know I'm not the only one who's uploaded a video about it.

Hopefully that won't happen. Can you link to any of the others? I'd be interested in seeing more. Could only find yours and then some pics on tumblr.

If this is a leak, it sort of makes sense. JOH had an item-pack DLC. If the rumour that this new DLC is quanri centric is true, it makes sense there would be a qunari-centric DLC item pack with it.

Ohh. I am getting this one!

Currently playing a female Qunari and I really want the new armor for her. Think Sera might like it  :P

I have no problem with them posting a few stuff-dlc. It's for them who wants to pimp their game a little bit extra on the side. No one is forced to get them, those who think that that they will have fun with the armors and items will. As strong as I'm still getting some really really good fun meaty story-dlc it's just fine with sidedishes as well.

I play the Sims, see this as BioWare's stuff-packs.

Glad I could help you make a decision! Yeah exactly, it's not something you need to download unless you want to. The charging $5 for it is something a little... unsettling.

Hehe. I'm sure Sera would like it ;)

The Qunari throne room décor looks really cool, and the new light armour looks really good on Sera. Not enough to make me buy it but it is better than SotA

I really liked this item pack! The armors are terrific and look great on any qunari Inquisitors and all of the female companions. I surprisingly liked the new mount too. The decor options are awesome, but they have got to fix the issue where the Inquisitor is obscured by the throne components. How did that slip through Q & A?

why not compare it with DA2 as well? Or does that not exist in your mind. Not a fair comparison otherwise.

IIRC EA nixed potential future dlc for DA2 due to it's sales figures whereas DAO's weren't cancelled like DAI's. Though DA2 did release more DLC in a shorter timeframe than DAI.

Yeah, I chose DA: O just because it also released in November and it had a ton of DLC.  But I can choose to do DA2 as well.  Since DA2 released in March 2011, I'd be including anything that was released between March 2011 and November 2011.

DA 2:

  • The Exiled Prince (Story-based DLC with full-game companion)
  • All-Class Item Pack I (Item DLC)
  • The Black Emporium (Item DLC)
  • Legacy (Story-based DLC)
  • All-Class Item Pack II (Item DLC)
  • Mark of the Assassin (Story-based DLC)

Compared to:

DA: I

  • Jaws of Hakkon (Story-based DLC)
  • Destruction (MP DLC)
  • Dragonslayer (MP DLC)
  • Spoils of the Avaar (Item DLC)
  • Spoils of the Qunari (Item DLC)

To summarize:  Eight months post-release, this is what they'd released for DLCs for each game in the series:

DA: O - 1 full expansion, 5 story-based DLCs (1 including a full game companion), and 2 Item DLCs

DA2 - 3 story-based DLCs (1 including a full game companion) and 3 Item DLCs

DA: I - 1 story-based DLC, 2 MP DLCs, and 2 Item DLCs

It certainly supports my argument that having only one story-based DLC eight months post-release is kind of nonsense.

*shrugs* I'm really not sure. They've taken the DLC down off the Xbox store, so i'm wondering if they're fixing the issues?

It's been less than a week since I broke down the disparity of this very same info in one of the active forum threads, with nary a nibble. I must not have the gravitas of this daveliam beast?

The armor tinting station didn't work with a crafted light armor. On a different character, I noticed that the colors did change according to the materials used in the initial crafting process. Anybody else notice problems with tinting, or was this a fluke?

It's all bugged up. Especially for Qunari.

I find the business practice of cutting a few outfits out of story DLC's and parceling them with a price tag of 5 Euro - absolutely disgusting.

Especially when the original game comes with such a limited variety of armors, and that the "Spoils of the Avaar" should have been by all rights part of JoH, but was cut and set aside for the express purpose of engaging in unfair money grabbing practices.

If indeed there is a Qunari story DLC, this is just a further proof to the typical EA cynical anti-consumer attitude that seemed to have infected Bioware, of trying to milk more cash out of fans through the use of the lack of armor variety which was an annoying problem in the original game.

Except it's not content cut out, so much as content developed later.

You wouldn't be arguing if it was free (although saying that people are complaining about the free stuff in the witcher 3)

Right. And you know that it was not cut how? And what about the Qunari clothing appearing for a moment before a rumored Qunari story DLC?

Of course I wouldn't be arguing if it was free. The whole point is that this is an overpriced PoS, designed to take advantage on a flaw in the original game - the lack of armor variety.

I mean... on the subject of armor, the Spoils of the Avvar stuff wasn't even "cut" from the DLC. All of that stuff, barring perhaps the female version of the Stone-Bear Armor, is already in the base game, you're just paying to enable it as wearable gear.

You know, the stuff that's already in the game.

I won't be arguing that DAI doesn't have much in terms of variety, but armor/costumes/customization packs have always been popular, so it's weird to accuse them on  "taking an advantage on a flaw in the game", when offering DLCs with new armor is standard in gaming industry...

They deliberately held back the qunari armor. The qunari are the only race in the vanilla game to not have any racial armor. You really think it simply slipped their minds? No. They held it back 6+ months after release because they knew they could get people to buy it. Hell it's already done now, but they're still making us wait. I doubt the tinting bug had anything to do with it, the vanilla game still has bugs where the boots of your custom outfit do not tint properly and that still isn't fixed.

You know what else is going to be standard in the industry?

The next metal gear solid is going to have micro transaction in the single player campaign that will allow players to speed up construction work and such.

Give it some time, the scourge of the mobile apps is coming to all your favorite single player games.

I bet that they are going to sue anyone that will use a trainer or cheat engine on the game.

But hey, "it's optional, you don't have to buy it", right?

This kind of cynical behavior is kinda expected from soul-less mega corps, what's worse, is that some really dumb fanboyz are defending this.
