Yeah, I chose DA: O just because it also released in November and it had a ton of DLC. But I can choose to do DA2 as well. Since DA2 released in March 2011, I'd be including anything that was released between March 2011 and November 2011.
DA 2:Compared to:
- The Exiled Prince (Story-based DLC with full-game companion)
- All-Class Item Pack I (Item DLC)
- The Black Emporium (Item DLC)
- Legacy (Story-based DLC)
- All-Class Item Pack II (Item DLC)
- Mark of the Assassin (Story-based DLC)
DA: ITo summarize: Eight months post-release, this is what they'd released for DLCs for each game in the series:
- Jaws of Hakkon (Story-based DLC)
- Destruction (MP DLC)
- Dragonslayer (MP DLC)
- Spoils of the Avaar (Item DLC)
- Spoils of the Qunari (Item DLC)
DA: O - 1 full expansion, 5 story-based DLCs (1 including a full game companion), and 2 Item DLCs
DA2 - 3 story-based DLCs (1 including a full game companion) and 3 Item DLCs
DA: I - 1 story-based DLC, 2 MP DLCs, and 2 Item DLCs
It certainly supports my argument that having only one story-based DLC eight months post-release is kind of nonsense.
You need to keep in mind that Inquisition is way bigger than both of those games. Jaws of Hakkon makes up for both of the Dragon Age 2 DLCs and then more.

I respectfully disagree. Jaws of Hakkon was woefully disappointing to me. Just having a large map where I wander around and do side quests isn't a solid replacement for a second story-based DLC.

Funny how everyone is skinny during sex scenes, but they get some spartan abs when they put on the armor. Qunari are manly as ****.
Not gonna bother with this DLC unless they make it free at some point. I'll stick to my oversized Kirkwall throne.
That's their secret. Without the saarebas working their abs-enchantment into Qunari armour they'd all be lanky nerds.

I didn't say the content was as good as the Dragon Age 2 ones, but only compare the size and time it probably took to make them. Legacy is my favorite DLC for the Dragon Age series. But I really can't speak on JOH, yet.

Right. And you know that it was not cut how? And what about the Qunari clothing appearing for a moment before a rumored Qunari story DLC?
Of course I wouldn't be arguing if it was free. The whole point is that this is an overpriced PoS, designed to take advantage on a flaw in the original game - the lack of armor variety.
All we have is the developers word. As to the "Rumoured Quanari DLC" until its true. *shrugs*
The DLC armours aren't that good anyway

I mean... on the subject of armor, the Spoils of the Avvar stuff wasn't even "cut" from the DLC. All of that stuff, barring perhaps the female version of the Stone-Bear Armor, is already in the base game, you're just paying to enable it as wearable gear.
You know, the stuff that's already in the game.
That's one of the reasons why I gave it a TINY score in my review of it.
At least SOTQ gave us some original content.

I'm disappointed that this is the kind of DLC that they are putting their efforts into. I'm glad that they finally gave us Qunari specific armor types, though. We have been asking for this for months now. And I bought it because I want to outfit my male Qunquisitor in chest baring heavy armor and I like the idea of him and Dorian rolling around in a bed surrounded by gold naked male qunari statues (it's like Liberace style gay), but it's sad that this is the focus now. Again, we're eight months post-release. Let's compare this to DA: O (both were released in November, so we'll just look at what was released by July in both cases):
DA: O
- Stone Prisoner (Story-based DLC with DLC full-game companion)
- Warden's Keep (Story-based DLC)
- Blood Dragon Armor (Item DLC)
- Return to Ostagar (Story-based DLC)
- Feastday (Item DLC)
- Darkspawn Chronicles (Story-based DLC)
- Leliana's Song (Story-based DLC)
- DA: A (Full Expansion)
DA: I
- Jaws of Hakkon (Story-based DLC)
- Dragonslayer (MP DLC)
- Spoils of the Avaar (Item DLC)
- Spoils of the Qunari (Item DLC)
I'm not really happy with this.
I logged in specifically so I could like and agree with this post.
I actually replied to their facebook post today, which I rarely do because I'm so tired of non-story related stuff. I did point out that since they aren't supporting last gen consoles anymore though, maybe they could release some real hair styles now ![]()
P.S. Nice video BioFan. I actually laughed a few times. Thanks ![]()

Of course I have to pay 5 bucks for sexy outfits for my quizzies. I really don't get why they make such crap armor 90% of the time.

Bioware's always done that. I think ME3 was the first game where the protag didn't only have crappy armor designs available to them. NPCs always have cooler armors, while we are given hand me down rags.

CDPR only forgot to mention in that lovely little letter that they're only able to do so because they are subsidized by their government. So they get paid for the work, even if they release it for free. If you think the only thing that's funding their DLC development is their boundless love for the consumer, you're sadly mistaken.

No reason for it to be different dates. Tuesdays are typically when they are released.

Yeah, not staying down is kind of our shtick. Thanks ![]()
Anyways, to put together a more coherent response, the nice thing about this pack is that they are giving something to the people who play as Qunari and felt like their various equipment options were limited, as opposed to what was available for other races. The not so nice thing about this pack is that they are making them pay for it. And I really, really, really hate to be this person - there is written account of me being somewhat annoyed with this type of person, but here I am simply a hostage of circumstance.
Sigh.
CDPR gives this sort of stuff to the players for free.
I AM SO VERY SORRY.
But how can one not make this comparison here? How, I ask you? Having seen the latest TW3 patch notes? And the thing is, CDPR has always given this sort of stuff away for free. Always. These "Spoils" (which are most aptly named, I think) - their very concept - are utterly baffling to me. It is extraneous final product of a bovine digestive system that you pay money for. Why. It is an appearance pack. A shiny new dress for your Barbie doll. Who also wields a giant eff off sword. And if there is more to it than that - say, if its purpose is to remedy the lack of equipment options for a certain race choice - then charging for it is especially morally dubious, seeing as in this scenario, you are only fixing an oversight you have made when first releasing the product in question.
And since I have already started digging myself a hole when I began making comparisons to the He-Of-White-Hair-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-The-Third, I might as well go with it. You know what? I have never even played a single CDPR game in my life, but I actually have more goodwill toward it and the company that made it - and will throw my money at it once the circumstances are favorable to the transaction - based on the way that CDPR treats and interacts its fans and its players alone. From what I have heard and read (which has been quite a bit), their whole business and communication model seems to be based on being just the most gosh darn nice big soulless corporation they can be. Remember The Witcher 2? Remember what they did when it launched and there were complaints that the game is too difficult and that it does not tutorialize enough? Oh, what was that? The baby thinks the game is too hard? The baby is having trouble navigating menus and figuring out controls? Well, then the baby can just have this awesome new tutorial section we took the time to develop just for you and the baby can have it for free. Along with an appearance pack, because hey, why the hell not? Enjoy!
I know that the world of investment is utterly insane, but it is astounding and hilarious to me that the companies are only now figuring out that when you do nice things for people and present a good product, then GASP! Your consumers talk about you well, and they tell their friends, who then, in turn, will buy your product and if they like it, they will talk about it to their friends. Seriously, we live in the age of the Internet. And for a company who throws just so much money at communication experts, EA and their business practices are the most PR tone-deaf corporation this side of pre-2015 Microsoft.
That wont do, pig. That wont do.
EDIT: @ Jaron Oberyn - while you may be right, it is also apparent that the "FREE EVERYTHING" approach is also a part of their marketing strategy - they seem to be focusing on boosting the sales numbers of the main product through spreading good word across all channels and through building consumer goodwill, as opposed to increasing profits by marginal add-ons for a relatively low price. I am not naive enough to think that CDPR present themselves to the potential consumers and communicate the way they do out of the goodness of their heart - they and EA both strive for the same end - profit. Which in itself is all well and good, but to get there, you have numerous options to choose from. The key things to consider here are options and choice. This is what they went with and I in good faith cannot blame them for it because charging cash for appearance packs of all things is absurd.

PSN sometimes doesn't update until a little later than Xbox. And Euro PSN may take an extra day sometimes. #XboxFTW
