I've posted a request in Feedback and Suggestions section, in the hope the developers are more likely to see it and make the changes so we can get the content without having to do MP, even if it's implemented in the future, I don't mind waiting for it, I just don't want to have to do MP to get it.

If this was paywalled DLC yeah I'd understand the frustration... If they were forcing people to MP due to restrictions in SP otherwise (ME:3 pre extended cut dlc), Id understand the moans.

But these props are for the MP players, it was given Free, in a Free DLC.

Soon as I found out about this, I temp removed my mods, hopped onto the MP, did the tutorial bit just cause I wanted to (took 30 mins) went into a ferelden castle game, killed the drake all in all it took an hour... and that's with not having done MP before, using the basic class (i picked the dalish mage). It isn't difficult, it isn't rocket science.

Whilst I understand that you don't want to play MP and that is your choice, but these "props" came with the free dragonslayer MP DLC, not an SP DLC but an MP DLC as a reward for participating in it. It has no bearing on your SP game, there not gating anything behind MP, so there isn't an issue imho and I'm one who hates when companies force the MP on you.

If I didn't want to do the MP I wouldn't of done, the way I see it is there offering an incentive to play the MP if you want the probs.

I did exactly that and got nowhere close to the dragon so I wouldn't say it's as easy as that, certainly not solo.

But Bioware made assurances last year.  Which I predicted would not be honored.  And I was laughed at, again (I made similar predictions with ME3, and that EMS fiasco was exactly what I thought would happen)  So now we know precisely how much Bioware respects the SP fan.

Has to be said, while we disagree on some fundamentals, I respect the way you argue the case 'against' in a consistent and intelligent manner.

I've put a few other exasperating folk on 'ignore' over the years but I usually find your posts interesting, even when I don't hold those views.

Power to you, I look forward to the ME:A MP and related discussions in time ^_^

If these props are for MP players, then why is it in the SP game?  Especially when they promised not to block any SP content behind MP.

Any SP content that cannot be achieved strictly through SP play is, by its very definition gated.  It doesn't matter if it only takes an hour.  or if it's "free".  It still requires MP.

Honestly if the stuff I've seen this week is indicative of how Bioware conducts its business now, I may not be around for ME:A   :(

Wow,play multyplayer.so i can get single player props. Not sure  where the common sense  went on that call.Honestly, you really shouldn't do things like this.Let be rewarded for playing the way  i want to play  that makes me happy.i don't do multiplayer.I play game for escapism.
With this title Bioware is getting surprisingly disappointing month after month.

I find it rather amusing some of you hard core fans complain about spending 60 minutes in the MP mode of the game for some new content when you've dropped hundreds of hours into countless playthroughs of the SP part of the game.

Strange as it may sound, but some of us play both SP and MP. I've put approximately 1600hrs into DAI and It's about split 40-60. Anyhow, I'd like to reiterate, if you play Xbone, and you really want these props, I will take you through a match. All you have to do is show up. You can get killed and stay in the fade the entire time. It'd make no difference to me. Just PM to set up a time.

I know it's disappointing this isn't happening the way you want it to, but there are a few people here offering a solution to those who are willing (and can) take it.

It's more than disappointing, it's downright sad.  We were outright deceived by marketing promises.  Again.

It is nice that there are people willing to carry others through these runs, but frankly, you shouldn't have to.  It shouldn't be necessary at all.  This is single player content locked behind multiplayer content, as we were told WOULD NOT HAPPEN.

The enjoyment of SP shouldn't be dependent on your generosity, just as MP fans shouldn't have to carry people who really don't want to be there in the first place.

Edit:  And those who don't have an online account or a stable internet connection are themselves completely hosed.

More like "will not access."

Content shouldn't be gated like that.

What if I play on Xbox? Possibly I have no need or desire to pay for a gold account.

Would it kill them to make this stuff drop from the actual dragons we kill in SP?

I resent it on principle, but it certainly doesn't help that, unlike ME3, the DAI multiplayer is the opposite of fun.

You could say that's standard business practice already. From downgrading graphics and lying about it (Witcher 3) to lying about the ending (ME3), it's naive to assume they would adhere to something some developer said on twitter once. It may be a sad state of affairs, but I really don't think this circlejerk is going to do anything but alienate people who read the thread.

There are standing offers from players of pretty much all platforms, including myself, to carry someone through a Ferelden Castle dragon fight in MP. It takes just about 11 minutes in my case. So if you really want the items, you can get them. Whining about it incessantly isn't going to do anything.

I feel like these Dragon Props would be a more suitable reward to the wartable operation Celebrate the Dragonslaying than the junk Superb Amulet of Willpower you get. More so if Josephine is chosen as the advisor to oversee the operation.

Desperate attempt to get people playing MP.

About time this game was put out to pasture.

The agents of the inquisition are based at Skyhold.

You can see them hanging around the ramparts, near the stables, in the garden, and so on.

You can involve them is war table missions across Ferelden and Orlais.

They have been there since day one.

If the agents bring back a few trophies to their base, why is this a problem?

The Inquisitor has certainly brought back enough assorted crap from around and about.

Answer: It's not a problem.

The agents complete multiplayer missions means they have some trophies to take back to base.

They don't complete those missions, means they don't have those trophies. Duh.

Something to whine about?

I don't think so, I have no sympathy for such entitled idiocy.

None.

I have to admit, I'm not sure how you got whining, or entitled idiocy from any of my posts (unless you weren't meaning me, then ignore this), I was just pointing out there appears to be something of a disconnect between what was said ad nauseum pre-release and what has happened this week.  I also said wasn't bothered by what I chose to forgo, just that the intent, or the concept by behind what they're doing is rather undesirable.

With regards to the other parts of your post, I hate - and I mean really hate - to be that guy on the internet, but many of things you point out only go to further my point.

Yes, the MP agents have always hung around Skyhold.  Yes, they've always been part of War Table missions.  Since the beginning.  People who have never even clicked on MP in the menu have always had that 'content'.  Now there is something that SP only people can't have without actively spending time in MP.  Which, based on my interpretations of pre-release information is something we were told would not happen (the very generous offers of DragonRacer, Lynroy and others is great for those that really, really want those trophies, though).  Your interpretation(s) may differ, and that's fine.  To a point, that is why we have this 'discussion forum'.

The 'not a problem' part of your post is very much your opinion.  As it happens, in this particular instance about this particular content, it's my opinion as well.  But you and I can't make that decision for everyone else here.  If people are actually angry about this, I don't get it, because I seldom spend time at Skyhold that isn't crafting or talking to companions, but that's me.  I recall Patrick Weekes releasing a series of tweets about his Ass-Quisitor who was more interested in find drapery than saving the world.  Some people take this aesthetic customisation stuff seriously.

There are plenty of things in the game that various groups of people could do without (or that they want added).  Because something is not a problem for you (or for me), does not mean it is not a problem.

The majority of this 13-page thread is filled with whining and it's mostly the same people saying the same things over and over again.

The last time they pulled this, it spawned more than 13 pages though. One would think they'd learned their lesson.

Yes.  it is.

Not everyone wants to MP (there are some even more reluctant than I)

And there are some who for whatever reason  simply can't play online.  But want to enjoy all the SP content.

To be fair, in an earlier post I did say I supported getting it in SP specifically because of people who can't play online. That, to me, is excluding people, and I don't like it either.

I haven't seen anything that has shown that Bioware lied. I've only seen very subjective interpretations of what was said. Anyway, it's not like SP only people will never get this stuff. They'll release all the "exclusive" content to everyone eventually just like they did with DAO and DA2.

No, they won't. They really won't. If the new content can't run on old platforms, it won't be released on them. And I doubt they'll release these props without the MP requirement either.
