I've read all of those before, and to be honest I wouldn't take anyone responding on twitter as unequivocal.

We should be able to. We're hearing it directly from the developers. Just because it's on a certain website shouldn't make the statements less true. Regardless, even if we can't take it seriously, the fact that twitter is really the only place you have any hope of interacting with the devs is a huge problem in itself.

So I just spent about 8 hours leveling an archer from 1-18 and I still don't have the stupid props. The only way I could find a match was by quick match > random and only managed to get to Ferelden twice and one time, I lost my connection and the other time it was just me an another guy and he bailed (or lost his connection) when things got hairy... so no dragon fight yet.

I spent the time trying to get as good as I could so I wouldn't be holding anyone back and it turns out I don't suck for only putting in a few hours and having crap gear. I was even MVP a couple of times on threatening. I tried to stick with the same group but people kept disappearing off or I'd lose my damn connection again. I also tried setting up my own match in Ferelden Castle and waited and waited and waited but no-one came.

As for MP itself, it is sooo repetitive, listening to my character say, "So shall we go for a drink after this? That's what friends do, right?" or "oh...wow. that's amazing." in a voice that makes me think it's not amazing at all... whatever it is he's talking about because I have no idea.

Thankfully most people had their mics off but there were a couple of guys I kept getting stuck with who wouldn't stop babbling to each other about what was going on. They would set up a match and then sit there for five minutes chatting while going through their inventory or deciding whether to change class or comment on the other players in the group once the match was underway.

My conclusions on MP. Not very difficult on the first 2 difficulty levels. It's like being a level 4 character (just 4 abilities) but you get stronger and if you're lucky your gear gets a bit better. It's a slog to be honest doing the same thing over and over and if you lose your connection for any reason you get no XP and can't reconnect to the same group so you might have just wasted the last 15 minutes if this happens during round 5.

On the plus side, I'm not worried about being bad in MP anymore. Even though I play on hard in singleplayer, I didn't know if I would be any good at it. On the downside, it's not really much fun... for me at least. You can't say I didn't give it a good try though. I'll take someone up on that offer of setting a match up in Ferelden Castle now please (if anyone's still willing after this semi-rant!). I'm available from 6pm-2am BST and play on PC. Just PM me a time and either you or I can set up the match and invite the other.

ETA: By the way can anyone tell me what the controller button is to say "Look over here!" I must've missed it during proving grounds and then after pressing all the buttons and scouring the Internet, I can't find a controller layout for multiplayer. It's not even in the damn official manual. I managed to find the "Retreat!" button on the d-pad but that was it.

EDIT: I was offering names, but then saw in our MP thread that someone's gonna message you to help already, so you're covered. :)

There is no 'Over here!' Button anymore. Bioware removed it because players kept spamming it. True story.

Let's add some parity. MP players get a premium loot chest once they complete the Shard Collector quest in SP mode.

Edit: I get it. They want people to play MP. Thing is, if players aren't playing MP, it may be because they don't want to play MP. They bought a SP game because they wanted to play a SP game. Have an analogy: The Almond Growers Guild is trying to get people to eat more almonds, so they decide that the best way to accomplish this is to make the local restaurant include almonds in every dessert. I mean yeah, lots of people have nut allergies, but they don't have to eat dessert, right?

If I'm not mistaken a premium loot chest you can buy in multiplayer anyway any time you want with real money, where as the dragon prop set cannot be bought seperately, at least not yet.

True, which is why I edited my post with a better example.

I wish they would offer the dragon props thing as a DLC you could buy with real money.

I suspect since they didn't always offer this as a reward for killing a dragon on multiplayer, that this is in fact just a limited time offer and when it expires, they'll then make it available as either 1) a free download to everyone, 2) a seperate payable dlc or 3) part of a bigger dlc. Either option I'll be happy with, so long as I can get hold of it eventually. Just wish they'd at least explain whether or not it will be available to everyone eventually, otherwise in the meantime I'm worried that it'll be trapped behind MP forever, or even worse they stop the offer and never make it available again.

I did complete the shard quest.  So, can I have my premium loot chest now?

Fine by me! All you have to do to obtain it is convince Bioware that MP bonuses should be tied to SP progress rather than the other way around. Good luck and godspeed.

Edited to fix spelling error.

Some people obviously still have it because I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. Did they remove it just for controllers? Or are you joking?

It's full of Highland Dirks anyway.

This whole debacle seems to me as if they're trying to sell mouse groupons to cats. Yeah, cats want mice, but they don't want to have to have dinner with three other cats to obtain them.

He's pulling your chain. The "Over here" button exists, but a lot of folks... have a very bad tendency to... spam it. A lot. Like, plant themselves in front of a treasure door and spam it non-stop, even if you intend to come help in a minute, you know, after you finish killing the things that are currently swarming you. While the person stands there and hits "over here" again and again and not helping.

Not saying you would do that. Just saying it's become a bit of a running joke now, so it's likely why no one's told you where it is.

I wish they would offer the dragon props thing as a DLC you could buy with real money.

I think that would be really gross (and I'm pretty sure it's not something they would do).

But it should be available for in-game currency (they could add it to a shop in the next DLC).

Hopefully they'll at least open it up for everyone toward the end of the game's lifecycle (which seems to be coming up fairly soon), along with the other few exclusive promotional items, the same way they did for Origins and DA2.

It would be gross.  But at least it would be more honest.

But yeah being able to buy them with gold just like a lot of other Skyhold objects would be preferable.

A lot less satisfying than actually going to get them, though. We already know the inquisition snaps up pretty much every little bit of those dragons we kill.

Of course, buying the decor with in-game money would be better than buying it with RL money, but it's better than not having it at all. I'm hoping that we do get access to it at some point without having to play MP.

I will try MP for this but hey if its not that good from what I've seen and heard why try to sell us on it and lure us over there to get more people into it but. I will try it for myself and see but doesn't look like something I will ever like unlike ME3 mp.

Okay I tried again and it really is not that bad. I am not in any rush to get the decor, but leveling is pretty quick.

I did lose connection again while in Ferelden Castle and just turned the game off. I felt like I needed to level a bit more anyway.

ETA: Just saw that it is double xp until Monday, so that would explain the fast leveling.

Well I've messaged bioware on facebook and twitter, submitted our desire for the DLC via the feedback and suggestions section of this forum, and have tweeted Cameron Lee, Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah about our frustration with the decision, I've done all I can do, now is the waiting game...

Why not also make it available for those who defeat those 10 Dragons in Single Player on Nightmare... not everyone likes the Multiplayer but would still like to get this deco too...  <_<

If they introduced it as a reward for defeating the dragons on nightmare, I'd be just as upset that's impossible for casual gamers like myself, impossible for me to kill them all on hard let alone nightmare heh. Maybe kill a single dragon on nightmare, then I might have more of a chance with level 24 characters vs the hinterland dragon.
