All of the vitriol seems to boil down to, "Someone has a shiny I don't, and I don't want to do what is required to get it."

Again, how is YOUR game diminished (made less than it used to be) by this?

No this vitriol comes down to "They lied"

And this time they can't chalk it up to a math error.

It's not about others having content I don't get. I'm glad that the people that do enjoy MP got fun add-ons to play with, as long as it is separate. MP bonuses should affect MP. I love Isabella, and I didn't complain when she appeared in the multiplayer, even if I would have loved to catch up with her in Skyhold. But if you had access to a special content/story with her in the SP part, only if you got her in the MP first, then I would have complained, because that would have made a single-player content available only to people who also play MP.

Plus, if it's only about working hard to get something,  I worked very hard killing all those high dragons, why don't I have a reward for it then?

Perhaps someone can produce the exact BioWare statements about the relationship between MP and SP. I remember one which stated that the development of MP did not affect the quality of the SP game (and in fact had helped in the development of SP, but unless we have precise details this discussion is likely to continue to go around in circles.

If you look in the twitter thread they are adding a new level to MP to get people who have never played up to speed so they can get the shinny. They are being so brash about trying to force us into playing this MP that it's not even funny.

Edit:  also, one can make a case for the FAQ itself:

Do I get to transfer items from SP to MP? Or vice versa?

·         In Dragon Age: Inquisition, you are in charge of the Inquisition, and in Dragon Age multiplayer, you control a few agents of the Inquisition. There is no connection between SP items and MP items on purpose. We wanted to make sure that the two economies are separate, which will allow a stronger progression in both SP and MP. If you play Dragon Age multiplayer, you will learn how each class plays a different role in combat, how different skills work, and how your party composition can give you a tactical advantage on the battlefield. This knowledge is transferable to SP, but items are not.

Frankly, I think this is the way multiplayer should affect singleplayer. Optional bonuses that have no impact on story.

People seem to be losing sight of the fact that we're talking about a completely useless cosmetic addition.

Multiplayer should not affect SP at all.

MP rewards for MP.  SP rewards for SP and never the twin shall meet.  As we were promised.

Agreed. I get having a principle on the issue, but it's not something necessary you're missing out on.

I don't remember us being promised anything of the sort. At least in regards to needing multiplayer to complete single player.

They charge us £4 for completely useless cosmetic additions.

Thanks for this. The link is clear, but I do wish I could find a way to work through to the earlier posts (if any) in Twitter.

The question from the FAQ refers to transferring items. which is not quite the same thing, so that does not seem to be relevant to the issue heere.

I wouldn't call getting more schematics useless. Not to say those Spoils DLCs are worth the price they have.

^This. If these items are so worthless, why does BW charge for them?

I did, that's why I contested his assertion that we were promised no interaction period, instead of merely not needing multiplayer for single player endings.

I think it really blurs the line though.  You are clearly earning "items" (in the form of Skyhold decorations) in MP which is clearly meant to be enjoyed in SP.  It's not a gameplay advantage, but it's clearly a SP reward unlocked with MP

Yes there is though the SP item is the thing that is been called The Shiny and the MP item is a hHgh Dragon that you have to kill in MP to get The Shiny in SP.

It doesn't mention endings it mentions items any items in SP.

And no, singleplayer content is NOT locked behind MP.

So now we know what Bioware's word is worth.

Eh, it's still just a bunch of useless junk that can't be used in combat and doesn't impact the narrative whatsoever.

I don't know. I don't want to say I'm unsympathetic to any feelings on this matter, but until I see non-cosmetic multiplayer-locked single player content I can't find it in me to share your opinion on the matter.

Wait, is there actually a discussion going on as to whether a few worthless props/trophies in DA's version of a MySims area is considered "SP content"?

There's actually been quite a few requests for further customization options for Skyhold.  Now there are some, but they are locked behind MP.
