Dude, it's a bunch of crap that doesn't touch the combat or the story, the actual SP content.  No bonuses, no new missions, no added consequences.

No impact.

I think the act of calling something so insanely trivial "douchebaggery" carries its own implications.

The ability to customize Skyhold was one of the selling points for the game.  "Look, you get a castle!  And you can decorate it to suit your tastes!"

It's no gasping torso, but it's still important to a lot of people.

And again, they were dishonest with us.

It is content for SP you can only get from playing Multiplayer.

Ladies and gents, that sentence should never even be uttered in casual conversation about video games, let alone actually become true in the course of gameplay.  When in the history of video games, is it ever acceptable for this to occur?  The answer to this question is a resounding NEVER.  You just don't do this.  Multiplayer and Single player should remain unequivocally separate.  No ifs ands or buts.  Stop ****ing devil's advocating this nonsense and realize that this is not acceptable.

First of all, just because something is fun for you doesn't mean it's fun for someone else. I'm pretty sure that there's a bunch of things I personnaly consider fun that you would find boring as hell. I tried MP. It is not fun for me. At all.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm not against MP for others, I'm against MP for myself.

And what I'm really against, and I fear is beginning to happen here, is the industry going toward more and more SP/MP mixed game. It's a trend that seems to be really popular and it seems to bring money. Now do I want Bioware to get money to keep working on their games? Sure! Do I mind MP content? Nope, as long as it is separate. But what I'd like, is to keep playing my single-player game without having to bother with multi-player content. If I wanted to play multi-player content, I'd play an MMO.

Now, would I still buy the next Dragon Age IP if it was SP mixed with MP content? I'm not going to be an hypocrite. I still would. Unless of course it also became a huge empty map with lots of grinding and little to no story content, because I play for the story. But would it hinder my enjoyment of the game? It most certainly would. There's a reason why SWTOR is far from my favorite game, despite being in a universe I love.

What I'm really worried about is that we get Fabled and the whole game ends up MP in the not too distant future.

You can customize in a bunch of other ways, though.  This is only one small collection of useless junk from many other collections of useless junk.

And again, it has absolutely no impact on the user experience. The narrative is the same. The combat is the same. There are tons of customization options.

I hate using the "E" word, but this attitude is getting dangerously close to it.

Except it's not useless to those who actually like customization.

Except it does have an impact on user experience.  It personalizing your Keep.  It's every bit as important as hair options and armor designs.

It's entitled to expect honesty?

Didn't DAI start out as MP only in the first place?

The Red Lyrium Weapons were unlockable by a mini game, as were the Serault-related quests. This is not the first time BW do this. This time it is only that they want more people to play MP. But it's not for the combat that I play DAI.

I love dragons, is the main reason I bought this game series in the first place, and to find that I can't place dragon statues and accessories in my skyhold unless I play a multiplayer that I'm not wanting to play because I'm not into that type of gaming, seems totally unfair to me, especially being that they promised not to link the two things together. If it had been any other kind of content I wouldn't care so much, but it's dragons and that just makes it more painful for me.

I totally understand.  15 minutes to get them if you take someone up on their offer of help.  What platform are you on?

I can not get worked up about this.

It did entice me to finally play MP today and I lost connection after we placed the banner. I did not really care enough to try again after that.

This doesn't prevent you from customizing.

Except it does have an impact on user experience.

How? You had no idea it existed until the blog was posted, and it didn't impact the user experience for eight months.

It personalizing your Keep.  It's every bit as important as hair options and armor designs.

Not really. You take hair and armor with you everywhere, and it far more directly impacts role-playing.

It's entitled to expect honesty?

It's entitled for them to conform to a rigid definition of "honesty" about what SP content entails.

This impacts nothing about any of the SP content, whatsoever.

I've killed all the High Dragons in SP.  Where's my props?

They made new SP customization options that I can't access through SP.  And lack of options has influenced the experience

It's my keep, the hub I keep returning to.  Th eone I gather resources for and oh yeah UNLOCK CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS for.

SP content is SP content.  How important you think that content is is irrelevant.

This changes nothing about any of the SP content, whatsoever.

Except some of it is now behind a MP wall.

I'm mostly indifferent to this announcement since I don't play MP but I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to fire up MP, play the map, get the girl props, and never play MP again?

Those more knowledgeable in MP can probably tell me whether it's doable. ;)

I'm surprised no one has pointed out that there appears to be a new throne in this picture. I'm guessing it's not part of the Dragon Props set. It looks like it has Qunari statues. Possibly a sneak peak at a reward from the upcoming DLC involving Qunaris?

That's part of the upcoming Spoils of Qunari DLC. Microsoft had another one of their slip ups and advertised it early.

It's absolutely doable. Five days ago I'd never played a MP match before. Yesterday I went in with a friend and we killed the dragon and got the content. I hope to continue to play MP because I happen to enjoy it.

Which is fine for you.  But I'd rather gather fifty ram meat and fight a bear afterwards than do another MP run.

On the Inquisitor's body, if that's your preference in armor and weapon customization.

They made new SP customization options that I can't access through SP.  And lack of options has influenced the experience

So, entitled.

Point still stands. The PC is on the screen 100% of the time.

SP content is SP content.  How important you think that content is is irrelevant.

Impacting the actual SP content of the game is, indeed, relevant. Because it doesn't. If it did, this would be a different discussion.

As soon as someone reports that the game actually responds to the presence of the dragon trinkets, I'll amend my comments.

Except some of it is now behind a MP wall.

Yep, there's one set of skin options that you unlock by playing MP, which alters nothing about Inquisition's actual SP content.

Totally doable and there are volunteers to help get it done as swiftly as possible for any that want to do it.

I found the dragon decor had applied to my account retroactively while checking my Skyhold inventories today.  It's gorgeous.

I've already got it. It was out yesterday on Xbox One. I really like the female light armor it looks like what the cartoon pictures of a female Qunari looked like.
