As we all know, Bioware has stated that the next line of DLC for Inquisition will only be next gen.

What pisses me off about this whole situation is this: Yes, the leaving of the old consoles for the new gen is something that will and is happening. But Bioware made the choice to release it for the ps3 and xbox 360. Therefore, people such as myself paid about the same amount of money that the new gen players paid in expectation of the same game. This alienation of the current players on old gen is terrible not only to the players, but its a terrible business practice. I can only pray that Bioware sucks it up and releases the dlc for the old gen as well. Then they can move on and never have to worry about last gen ever again.

Bioware, I beg of you to reconsider your stance on this matter. I don't care if we last gen players have to wait a year or more to receive it, I just want to finish the story and game that you promised us when you released it on our last gen consoles. Please don't go back on our trust. Just allow us to play the last dlc Bioware. As customers of your product and lover of your games, you should give us what is rightfully ours which is the game in its entirety dlc and all.

It's a shame that they didn't even annouce this DLC policy in an individual post. They just mentioned this in a post about save importer...

personally if I'd bought the game on a previous generation console I'd be demanding a refund right now. everyone who buys the game has the right to expect equal treatment. it's bad enough some platforms getting content later than others but having some excluded altogether is just disgusting

I'm not a console gamer, but I signed the petition.  This kind of stunt has to stop.  Bioware should have either made the decision to not support last gen consoles during development of the game, or made it so that all content (DLC included) would be supported across the platforms they chose to develop the game for.  The video game industry has been getting away with too much crap that NO other business in the world would be able to do.

In my opinion, EA should allow a $10 download purchase of NextGen DAI to those that bought and registered OldGen before July 6th.

People please, Bioware did not make the choice. Publishers (EA) have the say on what it gets published on. Bioware can recommend, but EA have the final say. I highly doubt that developers would want to release games on 5 different platforms, they want to release on as few platforms as possible.

When it comes to the DLC, I'm almost certain Bioware made the DLC, were given X amount of time to get it done and released and found that in order to release something on all 5 platforms, at the same time and on time, it would be impossible so they had to compromise support for old gen.

Should the players be annoyed? Yes. Are Bioware/EA doing anything wrong? No. When you buy a game, you buy what's on the disk or download etc, nowhere are you then granted potential access to future DLC. It's annoying what has happened, but this is the same as the outrage people had when GTA V was released saying mods are not supported. Unless EA mentioned that DLC will be supported on all platforms, then you can ask for a free copy of the game on a new platform. Otherwise, it's just underhanded and unfair, but they aren't obligated to do anything about it since there was no overt deception.

I realise this is an unpopular opinion, but my old work involved a lot of stuff on consumer law which is a tad unfair and I hate it, but the bottom line is always "If it aint in print, we promised nothing". Still though, nothing boils my blood more than having to pay to play or rebuy your PSN digital games on the PS4...if someone can explain why this is justified, I'd love to hear it.

To me this is like having a DVd and then having the movie come out on BluRay with more special features that wouldn't fit on a DVD disk. If I chose not to buy a blu ray player but wanted the special content, I wouldn't demand that the publisher also release a 2nd disc of features.

I posted these comments on their  FB page. I really hope they will listen to their fanbase as I remember they always said their fans of their games were very important to them and they care about what we think!!

I just read that the new DLC will not be included on the PS3 is that correct?!! If so I am not going to be too happy. I can't afford a PS4 right now and to have the story end on the new gen is sooooooo unfair!!! I have played every Dragon Age game and Plat both of them. Now trying nightmare for the very first time. Hope I can do it, but to read on the internet that the rest of the story will only be on PS4 Xbox One PC it isn't right! I have also played all the Mass Effect games!

Please BioWare don't do this to us on the Inquisition. If you make new games in the Dragon Age series for new gen then so be it! But don't do it on this game!!!! Just to get people to buy the next gen when a lot of us right now can't afford it! I have been gaming since the 80's and don't plan on retiring anytime soon. Spent a lot of money on these games and I am now on a limited income so I watch what I buy. Guess I will just have to wait until they bring the price down on the PS4,. Who knows when that is going to happen!!

Sorry but when they made Inquisition they never said the dlc and updates were eventually only going to be on the next gen! I bought the deluxe edition hoping they would include some updates! I should have number 1 just bought the regular edition and 2 figured something like this would happen, but it never crossed my mind. In fact I am sure there are a lot of us out there who believed them when they said they were having more dlc for all consoles!!

So those of us who have a PS3 or Xbox360 basically won't know what is up with Solas!! You are telling us we won't be able to finish our game!! So that means I will have to watch it on youtube!!! Wow sooooo not fair!!

I am the same on a limited income I am retired and have loved gaming especially RPG's for a very long time! When I found the first Dragon Age game I was in love! Couldn't put it down and played quite a few times. Then along came Dragon Age 2 many people didn't like it, but I liked it except for the same caves and stuff over and over again. But I Ioved the story. I also played that one many times! Now along comes Inquisition I am on my 3rd play through and have put in a total so far of over 600 hours I guess you can say I am through lol! So now finding out I won't be able to finish the story it isn't frikin fair!!!

BioWare I love your games so please don't do this to your loyal fan base! I can understand if you start making new games for the next gen consoles, but to start a game on PS3 and Xbox 360 and then finish it with DLC on next gen only is a big slap in the face!!! I also get tired of hearing from others that to get with the times and buy a new console. I probably will someday buy a PS4 when the price comes down. Then if I have to re-buy the game to play on the new console, well let's just say I will not be happy!! I already spent over 70 on the PS3 version! Not going to buy it over again!! Sorry for rattling on and on, but I am pretty angry right now!

Seeing as the game was meant for a 2013 release. It would not have been a smart move to drop last gen consoles and only release for xb1 and ps4.

Ok, i take it that you are a fan of the series and that you love the game, but Begging?
Are we serious? Wait an year or more and be treated like a 2nd class denizens for something that was "supposed" to be there for you as well as all the others customers who have bought the game for their last gen?
what's annoying me is the fact that BW telling us this is a good thing, they're our good pals doing us a favour. No apology in sight.

This plus the lame move with the spoils of the qunari, basically assets that probably belong to the next DLc that they wish to sold separately ala spoils of Hakkon, and yet after this, people are still begging for Bioware?

If you think this is bad, then they've also made the 'Dragon Prop Set' only available to people who defeat a dragon in multiplayer, talk about being totally unfair to those of us who only do single player.

People....if this is not proof enough to convince you of Bioware's contempt for their fans, then I guess nothing will.

My advice is for everyone to seriously consider whether you really want to give this company more of your money. Personally, I think it would be a total mistake and a waste. Head over to CD Projekt RED and see what incredible value you will get for your money there.

I really enjoyed the main game on Xbox 360 and was looking forward to the comics. To buy all the video game stuff again and purchase the following upcoming dlc's is going to around $600 total (with the console etc.) Wuuuut.

The game is great but not so much that I simply must play to get the actual ending of the game revealed. Sucks.

I get it. Cliff hanger = excitement for future dlc = more money because BW is a business.

No butt hurt here, just sad.

You guys got gross. Or made gross deals with Microsoft or whatever. I'm sure you'll live with it. But not with me as a customer :)

Maybe in a year or 2 I'll check in again on your other properties, but me and the Dragon Age franchise is breaking up.

Peace out. I hope you guys make all the money you can on this IP.

Is there proof that EA made this decision? Is there proof that Bioware had no hand in it because maybe they bit off more than they chew and bailed out? It's easy to blame EA, but unless there are some quotes or announcements made stating otherwise it's an accusation made without evidence. Bioware could have most certainly made this decision with support from EA.

Old genners shouldn't be annoyed---they should be livid. Saying that when you purchase a game you aren't guaranteed dlc is true. However, the game was released on all platforms. Patches were and are released for all platforms. Multiplayer and dlc for multiplayer has already been released for all platforms. Promotional items and item packs were released for all platforms, as was JoH. Bioware just announced a couple of weeks ago that they weren't done with story content yet and more dlc was planned. Old genners certainly have the presumption of future dlc and it's completely justified. When purchase was made, it was never implied or stated that anything would be restricted. I am not saying that it falls under the consumer law of omission in order to mislead(which doesn't have to be a written contract, verbal contracts are recognized in consumer law). I honestly believe Bioware tried to make it work, but couldn't--however, it was certainly known that the old gens weren't capable of handling the game that well, let alone numerous dlc. They knew that and yet released it under that knowledge and now their fans are paying for that oversight and mistake.

What they should have done is pulled it before release. Old genners would have been angry, sure, but at least they wouldn't have shelled out money and time and invested themselves in a story that they're not even going to be able to finish unless they spend half a grand for a new gen system. I read where dlc and promotional items will carry over to the new console. I'm sure the old gen fans will find comfort in that when they're staring at the empty pockets and old consoles. I can guarantee that if the majority of old genners could afford the new systems, they would most likely have them already. I have an Xbox One and a PS4, yet this angers me. It's pretty shameful on their part and the fact they announced it as if they were doing the old genners a favor is beyond ridiculous. They didn't even apologize. Legally, they don't have to offer anything to old genners. Morally, and in good faith, they should

The ironic thing about this is that at least one of the VAs is a 360 player (Greg Ellis). He won't be able to play the DLC he voices unless he upgrades to the next gen and buys himself a new copy of the game.

Such helpful advice :) Going over to an RPG with a set protagonist, with a poor dialogue system and more action oriented combat is clearly in favor of playing a Dragon Age game which is completely different in almost every aspect. Not saying TW3 is bad btw, just tired of this VS thing. Also feel free to visit CDRP's forums if you want to fawn over them like a crazy fanboy, it is almost as bad as the BSN over there.

I agree with the initial post, we are all customers, this type of policy only alienates old gen gamers like myself, right now i can't afford a next gen console, and i'll probably won't be able to for a while, I bought the game on ps3 thinking I would at the least get the same game despite the visual downgrade, but that is not the case, not only does it perform terribly on said platform, but it now has a bug thanks to patch 1.09 where if i go to the Black Emporium all sound glithces out completely and stops working, and now this....

Bioware or EA (whom ever it is) is being totaly disrespectful to us, if you're not going give us a better performance on old gen (at the least in cutscenes, which look awful do to model and texture pop in) the least you could do is let us have access to the content you're planing for the title. So disappointing and unerving to see this type of thing happening in this industry, if this is what you where going to do to begin with, you shouldn't have released the game on last gen in the first place, but you did, and you got our money for it, now suck it up and deliver.

I loved my ps3 but it had it's day, and inquisiton is just so empty due to the limitations of the old gen hardware... So on one hand I'm kind of glad they're moving on. They should have never done an old console version though, and gone for a fuller game with more substance.

That said, I can understand the anger.

I'd much rather see them start fresh with a new dragon age title, because DAI is already pretty empty. I don't think one dlc can fix it.
