I'm not as bad off as some folks, but I sure can't afford a new console either. :crying: Priorities...

And I'm just selective on what games I play these days $60+ a pop for a new game is too much to spend, and for a game I'll only really play only once, as it is with most shooters (for me), I like 'em, just not all the time if you know what I mean (I can't/don't like to play online, so after I've beaten the campaign, that's about it). RPGs are about the only games I got for, since I can replay them and whatnot, but those (seemingly) come out once in a blue moon it (ones that I enjoy anyways- yea I'm picky).

So far Bloodborne is the only game on PS4 I really would like to try.

I'm of a similar mind - one of the main reasons for not getting an Xbone at the time was that there weren't enough games out that I wanted to play. Now that is a different case, but - and this is a massive one off for me - the announcement of one game has made me change my mind and I've started saving for a PS4 ... but this is still tempered by the fact there are now half a dozen or so games that I really want to play, and a few more coming out that aren't available for previous gen machines.

There is one title for the PS4 that I am looking forward to, the one that sealed the deal for me to lean more towards PS4.

:pinched:

But I totally understand/agree. I don't think there is a single game on the Xbone I'd want, but they're releasing backwards compatibility, or already have- I can't remember, so that's a plus.

Bah, I figure everyone will eventually upgrade one way or another, it's just being told we have to by a company, if we want to fully complete our DA:I journey.

I'll be buying a used PS4 and Xbone when the time comes (if ever), just because. Hehe.

(Nah I'm not spiteful, am I?)

The only PS4 exclusive title I'd like to be multi-platform was Bloodborne, but I'm getting Dark Souls 3 so I'm fine now. I was considering getting a PS4 still back when Silent Hills was going to be a PS4 exclusive title, then it went multi-platform and now its vaporware. Tales of Zestiria and possibly playing FFXIV on a console might bring me around for the PS4 again.

Saved for a PS4 for Bloodborne, also with Silent Hill as a motivator.

Konami betrayed me, and then further insulted me with their announcement to focus on mobile games. Tch.

At least bloodborne was fun, and I got DS2: SOTFS which I liked overall more than BB (ranted about why in the BB thread over in off topic).

Konami, I curse you with my ire.

To be honest, the announcement that the Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the PS4 first is what decided it for me - FFVII is THE game of my childhood, one that still ranks as one of my all time favourites; it's a big motivator to switch back to a Playstation!

There's absolutely nothing that could compel me to buy a console. I'd consider it only if there was no silly subscription, consoles had native mod support and I could plug mouse and keyboard instead of awkward controller.

maybe because I don't consider crap like Rune (better graphics or not) a milestone in gaming history.

The only game I prefer on the PC over the console is FFXIV, and even then I still use an 'awkward' controller because I prefer it over the mouse and pc controls. Mods/modded objects tend to ruin a game on me more than help in most cases because as Borderlands 2 taught me people will use them just to ****** you off. At this point the only games where mods/player created content have proved to be fun for me has been Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV, NWN and DA:O so many moons ago.

There is a console with native mod support and pnp mouse and keyboard options, its made by Alienware and pretty much strictly for the use of Steam games; whether its any good or not is still up for debate as it hasn't been out that long so far.

Edit for side note: As for Rune and its PS2 port, in the more recent years consoles have tended to have more solid games because its the PC receiving the port not the other way around. When a PC port is made however the game usually has had all of its major annoying bugs foisted upon the console players for many months so they've worked out the worst of them. <-This statement does not include titles such as DA:I where multiple platforms received the game at the same time (or the ultra-horrendous Batman Arkham Knight port that I heard people were refunding in droves), its more pointed towards games such as GTA V where the company admitted part of the long time between primary launch and the port was to fix bugs.

...actually I was talking about Bloodborne, which is basically Rune with better graphics. PC ports have one gigantic flaw - they are designed for consoles.

The gaming evolution is a funny thing, I have a powerhouse able to run almost anything, yet I still prefer ascii NetHack over clunky Witcher.

I've played Mass Effect, DAO, DAI, and paid for a Sub for SWTOR for a while. Bought DLC after DLC, and spent well over the amount of money I should have logically spent. Even having a 360 was incredible, it took me over a year after it's release to finally be able to get one, and at this point in my life I haven't got the money for a next-gen console. And those are the people being discounted. I scraped together money bit by bit until I could pre-order DAI, it took some serious budgeting because I make basically enough money a year to get by and not much else. All the other games I bought, I had to buy used and SWTOR was really difficult to keep up, but I loved BW enough to get the money around to keep it going. Now I no longer matter. Because I don't have the luxury of extra money for leisurely expenses, I am no longer considered a fan worthy of attention. I have been saving for months since I heard about JoH, but now, after all this, what would be the point? The money I am spending clearly has no meaning, because it isn't enough, it isn't next-gen enough to count. What stings the most about this I think, is the fact that no one ever spoke up about this. DAI was released for all these systems, and no one ever made it a clear point that last-gen players were going to be treated as lesser gamers to the next-gen gamers. And this is after the XBONE favoritism that came early on through deals with MS. I loved BW when I started playing ME and DAO, I thought they really crafted incredible stories for everyone and that the fans really mattered, but I don't love this BW. This BW has become typical, favoring certain consumers over others, overlooking fans, and catering to those that offer them the most income. Fans no longer matter, and it's depressing. I'm sure I'll eventually buy more BW games in the future, but I will do so now with the knowledge that they changed, that they no longer have an appeal to them that makes them different from other companies, and that they sold out to EA, and EA is ruining gaming for everyone.

The FF VII remake and Uncharted 4 sealed the deal for me to buy the PS4.  Even so, now with the PS4, I am not going to rebuy DA inquisition.  I see no reason to purchase it again, especially after the terrible experience with it on the PS3.

As we all know, Bioware has stated that the next line of DLC for Inquisition will only be next gen.

What pisses me off about this whole situation is this: Yes, the leaving of the old consoles for the new gen is something that will and is happening. But Bioware made the choice to release it for the ps3 and xbox 360. Therefore, people such as myself paid about the same amount of money that the new gen players paid in expectation of the same game. This alienation of the current players on old gen is terrible not only to the players, but its a terrible business practice. I can only pray that Bioware sucks it up and releases the dlc for the old gen as well. Then they can move on and never have to worry about last gen ever again.

Bioware, I beg of you to reconsider your stance on this matter. I don't care if we last gen players have to wait a year or more to receive it, I just want to finish the story and game that you promised us when you released it on our last gen consoles. Please don't go back on our trust. Just allow us to play the last dlc Bioware. As customers of your product and lover of your games, you should give us what is rightfully ours which is the game in its entirety dlc and all.

Consider your self lucky you were promised a console game and got a console game us PC players however were sold a "PC game by PC Gamers for PC Gamers" and instead got a shoddy console port

true that, but at least your version works, all us old gen players got was a game that crashes, stutters, freezes, looses it's audio after visitng certain zones, a game that's barely even playable....barely. If they're not giving us any up comming DLC, it sucks, but what ever, just patch the game so that at the very least the cutscenes work with out characters looking like this o0UGQv.jpg

I do feel for your situation however the PC version doesn't exactly "work"(performance issues, terrible m/kb UI and controls, cutscenes locked to 30FPS,) since patch 4 all patches have been in closed beta complete with NDA's that all beta participants are required to sign. The biggest problem though is MP most of the core features of Dragon Age games have been nerfed/ripped out or severely compromised due to design decisions done to make MP cost effective to implement.

Also most of the recent patches seem to be MP focused and what little SP DLC we have got seems to be either very expensive and lacking in quality(JOH) or a some meagre content pack designed to nickel and dime us into oblivion because MP has not become the cash cow they had hoped. The thing you have to remember though that the 360/PS3 is essentially 10yr old hardware and the XB1/PS4 is about 5yrs old so there will always come a point where content can't be added due to the inherent restrictions of the platforms dated hardware.

TL:DR Including MP has essentially ruined the core game and EA is too stubborn to abandon it and seems to have Bioware going out of its way to "fix" MP in the hope that it will become the cash cow they want.

Becouse MP may give them a lot of profits! I never buy anything there. Its like those all DLC and premium stuff for Battlefield...

But I you have that 30FPS, I daubt old gen is having them...

Yes it's 10 year old hardware, but that's not an excuse for anything, i'm sure it's pretty bad for you guys to have invested in powerfull hardware to get your games running on 60 fps and not be able cause on sh*tty choices made by Bioware, and if I where a pc gamer i'd be just as upset as you guys are, but just cause our hardware is 10 years old doesn't make the state in which this game came out in excusable, they made the decision to launch on our platforms, knowing before hand their limitations (as you've said they've been arround for almost 10 years now), so if this was what we where going to get, they should've either warned us, or made the game current gen/pc only, it would've saved everyone some time and money, but they didn't, so it's only fair that if they are not going to support our platforms with more content, then at the very least, fix the game or give us a refund or something to compensate for this "thing" they are calling a AAA full retail priced game.

BioWare "comes clean" about their move away from legacy support: http://forum.bioware...-going-forward/

I would suggest reading the entire thread before making a response. Pay attention to what's been brought up by players. Pay VERY close attention to what was (directly and indirectly) and wasn't answered by BioWare. Before you go in there raging, you should know they are handing out warnings and bans for forum rule violations. My opinion after this exchange is pretty much still the same. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Wait a minute, are you saying that Bioware's parent company, Electronic Arts, which was voted worse company in America two years in a row, has questionable business practices?

No way.  That's impossible.

So... after putting themselves through the meat grinder of publicly announcing they are dropping oldgen support... have they come close to talking about any other DLC besides JoH? We are getting close to one year after the game came out and only one real SPDLC.
