Just an FYI in case anyone missed it that you can now move your MP data from either Playstation 3 to Playstation 4 or from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

Details here: http://www.dragonage...s/save-importer

Important Highlights:

- You cannot switch console types (Playstation to Xbox)

- You can only do the MP migration once

Yes.

"Multiplayer

Migrating Multiplayer Data on a PlayStation® System

How to migrate multiplayer data:

  1. On the PlayStation®4 system, select Main Menu and then Extras.
  2. On the Extras screen, select Migrate Multiplayer Data.
    • IMPORTANT! You can only migrate your multiplayer data once.
    • You can only migrate multiplayer data from PlayStation®3 to PlayStation®4 via the PlayStation®4 menu.
  3. A message appears to inform you what happens when multiplayer data is migrated.
  4. You can choose to proceed or cancel. The button to proceed has been moved from [CROSS] to [TRIANGLE] to prevent players from accidentally proceeding before reading the full details.
  5. The migration process takes a moment. When it completes, you should see the following message: "Your PlayStation®3 system multiplayer data has been successfully migrated."

The multiplayer data migration is complete. You can continue playing on PlayStation®4.

What should you be aware of when exporting savegame data?

  • If you have previously completed a multiplayer data migration on the account, you see an error message to that effect.
    • This is a one-time, one-way migration.
  • "Migration Error - Player is disconnected from online services (EA, PSN / XBL)."
    • An online connection is required for the migration to complete.
  • "Migration Error - Player has a purchase transaction in progress."
    • This is generally caused by an MTX purchase that has not completed. Start the game on PlayStation®3 to let the transaction complete.
  • "Migration Error - Player has more than 99 Platinum on their account."
    • You can only migrate your account if you have 99 Platinum or less. Any remaining Platinum on PlayStation®3 is not transferred to PlayStation®4.
    • If the balance is 99 or less, the balance remains on PlayStation®3. PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 then have two separate balances.
    • If the balance is 100 or more, the migration stops, and you must spend the Platinum on PlayStation®3 before proceeding.
  • You may see a generic error message if something occurs that we don't have a specific message for."

What is multiplayer data migration?

  • Multiplayer data migration lets you migrate your Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer progress from a PlayStation®3 to PlayStation®4 system or an Xbox 360 to Xbox One console.

When that TB PS4 comes out I will probably make the move.  I guess that will be this holiday season.  MGSV Phantom Pain is coming out for PS3 Sept 1st.  Yet another reason to wait (for me).

Welcome to PS4 !

As an aside, I can't wait to slip further down the leaderboard when the top people migrate ...

Big plus will be having more people to play with.

Downside for PS3 is the people that don't migrate/can't afford to,  will have even less people to play with.

I will be changing PSN names when I make the jump from PS3 to PS4.   Will that work?

If the prestige and all stats are carried to the new platform, will you be removed from the leaderboard of the old platform?

This way I can see who have "transitioned"

If I imported my current gear/prestige/stats to PS4 would I be able to play on PS3 with a fresh scrubby account? I ask because my brother does not have a PS4 and I would still like to occasionally play with him.

Ok, I'll ask...How many people have transitioned successfully at this point? Will it still work if I've already logged on and poked around in PS4 DAMP with my new scrubby acct of the same name as my PS3 one?

I've transitioned from PS3 to PS4 with no problems.  From what I remember on the little popup, I believe any progress you've made on PS4 MP will be overwritten by your PS3 info when you do the migration.

I've been trying to find this old post to see if anyone can confirm: when you migrate data to the new gen console, is it lost on the old gen or does it remain?
I would still like to play with my friends on 360, but want to check out the Xbox One version with all of my current unlocks.

Everything on old gen stays where it is, it's still playable.  They just become separate after migration; whatever you earn on one console version (promotes, gear, etc) won't apply to the other one.  (This is based on my experience going from PS3 to PS4, but I imagine it's the same for Xboxes.)

Thank you, dragondreamer. That's the first explicitly specific answer to this question on these forums. You just made my Friday! Now if we could just somehow convince the team to move Fade and The Stone to release Pala and Darkspawn on last gen for my friends, it would make my year. I know that ship has sailed, but a boy can dream can't he? ;)

I can do this, when i buy a new GPU, all my old games work, but look better. They dont just become totally useless and force me to rebuy things i have already bought!

well to be totally honest I 99% play on pc, but I have 360's ps2's and a lonely xbone in the house, and just for fun I bought a bunch of games for the xbone

my half brother has a ps3 although fortunately the moon-headed freak doesn't live with me:)

i love the way the ps2 worked, i love the way the 360 works and the way the xbone works (because they use familiar ui's) and the fact my kids can use their tablets /phones and stream the console or use a phone as an extra remote when a mate comes over, or remote play it on their pc /laptop's so it can stay safe in the lounge under my watchfull eye .....

however i take your point, i upgraded from xp to vista to 7 to 8 to 8.1 and then to 10 OS's and swapped out a ton of hardware along the way and my games still work, even though i had to copy all the old floppies onto a cd for some of the really old stuff and i do need ot use an emulator to actually play them(i'm looking at you doom/quake) but honestly i tend to play one game primarily and then drop it completely when i move on to another one (get bored of it) which is generally after i complete the solo campaign or a couple of hundred hours of multiplayer, me and da have been exceptions to this since i infrequently play them through all over again, sometimes i try to do things differently other times not so much, but always i enjoy it (well apart from the endless scanning in me2) i do love that anything i earn in one game carries over to the next one in me3, i hate that it doesn't in dai....

but this is the first time i ever bought a game on more than one platform, since i  have dai on xbone and pc, its a shame the manifests don't carry over via the hq between platforms, then i could look cool and be noob on both xD

but i have no loyalty to any individual games platform and in truth the majority of new games don't play well on pc largely because they are written for a different gfx/cpu combo, like i have two pc's one is NVidia gpu and the other is amd gpu, both run windows 10 and play games, on one i can play some games 10x better than the other (and that works both ways) so unless you have two pc's (one foot in each camp) chance are your games arnt really still playable every time you upgrade /

Would it really have been that hard for Bioware to open up a limited time period to register for a freakin discount/ free upgrade? Then they could have the exact number to give to sony and microsoft so that poor Bioware wouldn't have to waste too much money and the people who registered would get a code to use. **** on a (piece of thin, dried bread), I'm still pissed and it's been what, a month and a half? I need to get over it, but grrrrrrrrr!
