What if they can't scale down the DLC?

Do you honestly believe they couldn't?  Within less than a year of sale no less.  Come on.  PS4 and Xone haven't exactly revolutionized gaming.  And a DLC is what you expect this gameplay revolution to come from?  The real reason is about money.  They don't think they'll make enough money on DLC sales for PS3 and 360.  So people are mad.  If enough are heard, then maybe they will reconsider dropping DLC support.

I love playing a lot of Bioware games, but gameplay has not really been the real charm of their games to me.  We can take scaled down graphics and gameplay.(really the only possible thing new systems truly offer a difference in)  A lot are not looking for revolutionary gameplay in Bioware games.  Probably a lot of old gen players feel the same way. They'd be happy to get the finishing DLC for a game that's less than a year old and is not even a standalone game.

Now now, we can't be insulting. Unless you're insulting people who are affected by this change. Then that's completely cool.

I was being (semi-)serious.  It's seriously feeling like this topic is the new 'give us more romances for straight guys' topic.

Also, I'm on last-gen (PS3) and my only gripe with the decision is that we weren't given a heads-up sooner.  Hell, I would've taken a "It's possible that we may drop DLC support for last-gen consoles at some point in the future" over the devs just popping up and saying, "Hey, we're dropping DLC support on last-gen consoles, but don't worry, you can carry your saves over to next-gen consoles!"  Since we didn't get a heads-up, people on last-gen got invested into their copy of DA:I, assuming that they would be able to get all the DLCs that would be released for it.  With the sudden (and unexpected) DLC support drop, a lot of people basically got punched in the balls.  Had we been given a heads-up beforehand, the impact wouldn't have been as harsh, for either side.

I wasn't just talking about scaled down graphics and gameplay, but the entire DLC itself. It's entirely possible that the DLC is too much for old gen DAI too handle

And we don't even know the real reason behind this yet

Why can't they just scale some things down on old gen DLC?  They already did that with the full game.  Of course old gen isn't expecting everything to play on par with new gen.  Players know they're not getting as much as new gen.  We accept that.  We want to finish the story of the game we purchased less than a year ago!

If this DLC is the end of Inquisition's story its absurd not to let us finish it.

Graphics can be scaled down, some things can't though. For example, Bioware apparently claims they cut large battle content because it couldn't run well on last gen. If that was true, then given the leaked survey revolves around a Qunari invasion one could put 2 + 2 together. The only thing stopping you from finishing the story is you, buy a new console if you can afford one or watch it on youtube. Reality hurts, but it is what it is.
