Do you actively seek these things out or something?

Ummm no, I actually stumbled upon by complete accident and I thought the over-the-top whining contained within needed to be shared in order to be believed.

It doesn't though. Because everyone should be well aware by now, especially in this place, that such things exist and are common.

No? Well I'm sure there is a "Zombie-T" or a Bunz selfie thread you would feel more comfortable in  :wizard:

Whenever you communicate. Think about how the other person will interpret what they hear before you worry about what you’ll say.

What stupid nonsense is that?

You aren't responsible for how people interprete your words, you're only responsible for what you said (unless of course you're deliberately wording yourself in a way that is designed to be misunderstood or carrying a particular subtext, but that's should be the obvious exclusion to that rule).

Given the very nature of individuality and perception, there is no way anyone could accurately guess what or how another person might interprete any given statement, be that from a different historic background, social standing, upbringing, situational context, or just plain mood, etc. pp. ... all of which can alter an individuals perception/interpretation significantly and some of those factors are not overtly recognizable.

Case in point, I'd feel offended if someone would admit to regulating his communication under the premise of not wanting to offend me. I'm not an emotionally unstable timebomb that's going to blow up in your face if you say the wrong word. If anything someone says inadvertedly makes me feel bad, that's my goddamn business and my own bloody problem. And if you offend me by being a jerk to me, I'll deck you in the shnotz. Grow the f*** up people!

Case-in-point I held open the door at a 7-11 once for a person whose arms were clearly full and who just so happened to be a woman, for this I was rewarded with a disgusted groan/sigh, a scowl and a look of utter contempt and an angry/huffy "THANKS!". Now I just swing the doors open wide enough to let myself in wherever I go, If people are going to be complete ****s to me for no reason then I might as well at least give them one.

That's offensive to the island. What those people deserve is being ignored. If you don't interact with them, you can't offend them.

This looks like an Onion article, even if it's not from the Onion themselves.

Yea but the Onion is at least funny, ever read the one about the boring old ghost couple haunting that house? They'd leave messages telling the occupants to pick up laxatives and set the DVR to record jeopardy and wheel of fortune.

People who try not being offensive (as opposed to just being civilized/respectful), simply live in denial of the undisputable fact that other people get offended for the merriest of reasons.

This is so hilariously out-of-touch with reality and nature (people can and will subconsciously dislike others based on chemical odours people are constantly giving away naturally), such thoughts can only come from people with an alarming lack of regular human interaction, or else the plethora of firsthand experience with how people simply are would quench such nonsense as soon as it reared it's stupid thought-head in your brainscape.

If it's any comfort, I've seen crazier things before. Like someone claiming that heterosexual vaginal intercourse was inherently rape. I think I might have lost brain cells from that one.
