Hey, is this a PC only thing?  I just played a game where I got downed and when I got up i was in the running animation but only going at walking speed.  I tried getting downed again to see if it would reset but it didn't even after the wave completed.  I'm wondering has anyone else experienced this and also does it happen on the console versions?  I never got it on xbox but I'm not sure if that just meant I was lucky since it was very annoying.

If it's the same bug I think it is, then it happens to me all the time. There is a quick fix; Simply switch to your secondary weapon (or the missiles if you don't have one) and then switch back. That should fix it right up.

I'll try this next time.  I wonder do you know if other people see you running in place or of it's just on your own screen?

Others can see it too, that's mainly caused by lag.

Shooting enemies or switching weapon usually fixes the problem, but you may want to avoid the host next time.

I had a game where I went about 3 waves with my GE having Juggernaut movement.  No running, no dodging, and regular slow Jugg speed.  It's one thing on the Jugg with 2000 shields or so and 40% DR.  It's another thing entirely on a GE with Hunter Mode, when you have like 500 shields and 250 health or something.

Answer to OP question:

- No, it happens on console also. So it's no porting defect.
- Especially fun, when they're spawning behind your back and you run - like in a dream - and can't get away. Sometimes I forget to do the obvious switching thing, especially when close to a magnetic sticky wall : subsequently exhibits category 2 -overactive flight behaviour.
- likely to occur when someone leaves/ joins mid-game.(confirmation bias? Phaebus mentioned lag as culprit condition)

 

Post Edit - but, then Phaebus also mentioned b4 that he has an asian host in the UAE, with lots of lag for everything...

Yeah that has happened to me (PS3) a few times in the past, but luckily I haven't encountered it for ages.

Happens to me on xbox... yesterday, actually. I usually just try to shoot at things and it eventually fixes itself. I'll try the rocket thing next time.
