It's unbelievable. They lump phrases like "melting pot" and "land of opportunity" in with blatantly racist things that almost nobody anymore. Not to mention how they criminalize certain viewpoints and presume that race and gender are factors in EVERYTHING. The best part, though, is how not being sexist or racist now makes you sexist or racist.

That is quite ridiculous. #Triggering you could say. I take particular offence to the idea of melting pot as a negative phrase. The melting pot concept is absolutely critical in ensuring a cohesive society containing people of many races and cultures because all residents in the country are encouraged to contribute to a greater, shared culture that is based on the original culture of the host country. I obviously can't speak for all immigrants, but there's nothing wrong with that idea. Immigration often works on the basis that you are moving to a better country than the one you come from. Otherwise, why move unless you are forcibly displaced? Why complain when it has a different culture? As long as people treat you well as an individual, then the onus is on you to adopt the culture of your new home. It's not the responsibility of others to coddle your ego and cultural heritage. If you want to promote your culture, then do it through positive means, not by whining about how it's "kinda racist because it hurt my feels even though no slight was intended". All this crap about 'erasing' racial identity in the form of 'micro-agressions' boils down to people upset that they can't use minority status as a means of standing out. People not caring about the colour of your skin and treating you as a human being is a good thing.

 

The alternative to the melting pot is cultural segregation. And the only realistic means of enforcing that is through an apartheid system if you want to avoid the sectarian and racial conflicts of second and third world countries. Then again, maybe that's what SJWs want, with all their talk of 'cultural appropriation'.

Devolving? Of course not. If anything this is just a specific ideological problem that's plaguing Western societies. It has almost no influence on the rest of humanity, and it's finally starting to have major pushback against it. I'm sure most people understand that the "progressive" feel train, if taken to its destination, will leave us in a fragmented and uncompetitive mess of a civilization.
