Looting and turning bogfisher research items does not advance the progress bar on the creature research, the item still apparently completes the research eventually but the codex also wont update to show it after turning the last item needed.

This bug is still in 8th of July in 2015.

Ps. I have never seen the nug research items drop so far and I have had the game for a long time. Also I have not seen anywhere the research item for the guardsmen.

I hope people will add items in this list that they have not seen for research.

The nug feet should be dropping now (this was fixed in the previous patch).

Hmm, should they now? Maybe I am incredibly unlucky or I should perhaps start the game again for clean save?

It's just random chance (it doesn't matter if it's a new game or an existing one).

You can try farming them in the Emerald Graves (since the nugs spawn out in the open there). Otherwise, just keep killing them when you encounter them, and hopefully you'll start getting some feet.

Does anyone know if the Giants really drop their research item, I've been farming them in the Emerald Graves for some time now and didn't found a single one. I also couldn't even find the name of the item online.

The problem with the bogfisher seems to be that they drop the wrong item (both are named "Bogfisher Teeth" but the one dropping in Fallow Mire has the "creature_codex_item_cave_mole" ID not the correct "creature_codex_item_bogfisher" ID). Did anyone at Bioware ever complete this stuff before they released the game?

I've never seen one, but I don't fight giants all that much (giant combat is just not that fun in this game).

It's possible it's just a codex bug and the item they drop is the right one for the damage bonus.

BioWare fixed most of the issues a couple patches ago. Probably they weren't important enough to fix prior to release (and at this point, I'm not sure if they'll do any more fixes for it).

I tried to complete the creature research section with the current patch and it's definitely still bugged for many creatures, as pointed out with the Bogfisher above.

Creature research is one of the more strange concepts of DA:I and was riddled with bugs and design errors from the start, but I'm sure it's not too much to expect this feature to be patched so it's finally completely usable. Or maybe it is since nobody at Bioware seems to have completed it before or else they would have encountered these bugs before release.
