Ooooh, I'm betting on it. The second Transfiguration is coming.
I'm down with that kind of bloodletting. ![]()

Alrighty then.
Positions of importance within the Magesterium and the Chantry were opened up for non-mages, yet not at the cost of stripping away the political powers of the mages who were on board for change. Slavers were freed, and the servants of the old Gods were cast into the flame. We can begin the work of Hessarian anew.

Eh I think Tevinter has appeal as a unchanging stagnant relic personally
Good for you.
Get the gaatlok.
Get the qamek, more like. Nothing like mages facing their ultimate fear -- LOL!

/mind boggled
I thought you were a total hippy.. what with supporting Synthesis in Mass Effect. Now you go for extreme Control here.

I'm just ****ing around, guys.
And LOL, I am no hippie. I am not really sure how to summarize my political beliefs in an accurate way. I like the general European setup -- government is big, usually content to live-and-let-live, but if some matter of public interest requires their attention, they drop down on it like a hammer.
Good for you.
I picture Minrathous as Yharnam from Bloodborne.
Grand elegance and magnificence surrounded by decay and the shadow of the glory that was Rome -- I mean Tevinter --.
Except Minrathous keeps all its glory with magic. There are no ruins, buildings that are well over thousand years old are perfectly held in place with magic.

Seriously, get your Agatha Christie on. Let's see some cloak and dagger and pageantry.
Even the name of the nation is awesome lol. I mean compare "Tevinter" to "Orlais".
Compare Byzantium to Rome.
Well as far as I know, David Gaider said Tevinter is loosely based on eastern Roman empire aka Byzantine, not the western counterpart. It survived a lot longer than Western Rome, but its power was merely a shadow of past Roman glories, though it was still a powerful nation in the area.
That wasn't really the point I was making, tbh. Rome also doesn't mean "The Western Roman Empire." It means Rome.
And Byzantium was a small fishing village with a really cool name before Constantine made it the seat of his power. Name's don't mean anything.
I don't disagree with names not meaning anything. But it simply sounds cool to say "Tevinter". Orlais reminds me of pink stuff, cheese and ballet dance.
I'll be sure to pack some cheese for my trip to Tevinter. I heard a rumor that the dwarves introduced them to the delights of nugflesh *shudders*

Actually, Byzantium was an important trading city before that, and in its good times it expanded to conquer other cities. Ok, it suffered a lot of damage when Septimius Severus besieged it, but it was rebuilt later. Before Constantine, many were aware of the colony's excellent position. There was even a legend about how the founder Byzas (whose name is the origin of Byzantium) was told to build a city opposite the land of the blind... who were assumed to be the inhabitants of Chalcedon in the Asiatic side because they didn't recognize the fantastic place they had just in front of them.
Ok, now talking about the matter at hand, it would be surprising if we don't visit Tevinter in a future game. It could be the next or the last, but we will go there if the DA series doesn't disappear. The greatest city of Thedas? The place no one has conquered? It's almost asking for a PC to do what no one else has done before.
As long as every enemy you face isn't a blood mage.
Got enough of that in DA2.
So can I use people as batteries if we do?
Because I'm in if that's the case.

Just one week...ugh.
So awesome! Can't wait for elf vs. Vint blood magic creepiness!
