Bioware have obviously stated that Andromeda will not contain Shepard but they did say there will be a reference to the original trilogy for fans of the original series.
i was wondering what people would think of Liara being present, my reason being is that her presence only cancels the refuse ending of the trilogy not harming decisions.
As well as this she was only 106 in ME:1 and about 109/10 in 3,this is obviously very young for an Asari so she could be alive in Adromeda unless it is siginificantly into the future. She is also the shadow broker, meaning she has a vital role on thr galactic stage so will naturally be interested in moving into a new galaxy.
Liara in my opinion would be a fantastic way to reference the original games and give some closure to what happened afterwards, they could have her dialogue be based on a decision at the start of the game too. Destroy referencing shepards return perhapS?
i know many didnt like the use of liara as she couldn't be killed and was pushed too much but i think it would work in the new trilogy if she had a small role.

The Andromeda colonists most likely leave at some point prior to the ending of Mass Effect 3.

 

That hasn't been confirmed yet, but it is an assumption that will probably prove true. The whole reason the next game is set in Andromeda is probably so that the devs wouldn't have to address the endings to Mass Effect 3, or get tied up in rehasing the ending controversy. By having the colonists set out before the end of ME3 they'd be able to avoid having to deal with whether or not everyone is a cyborg.

 

If that is the case and the colonists set out before the end of ME3, it would be impossible for Liara or any other squadmate to end up in Andromeda.

 

Liara is my favorite character, but if we're going to run into again at all it should probably be in a game set in the Milky Way.

i was thinking she is only present for the first 10-15 mins honestly, for instance the alliance manages to negotiate a meeting and she sells them planets that could be habitable.
Through dialogue you could ask if she's seen anything interesting as shadow broker and she could mention the reapers.
Obviously then we could say
They were destroyed
They stopped attacking etc
It would also be a way for her to mention that protagonist is doing something only beaten in importance be commander shepard.

That makes sense i guess, i can't believe the reapers would allow species to just fly away though and leave them be- plus the tech we had didn't see good enough just yet

Liara is a polarizing character. She's the most popular LI, but those that don't like her tend to hate her. 

 

The people who don't have strong opinions about her either way are a minority.

Resources would be better spent bringing Kelly Chambers to Andromeda.

Trust me, once she's there, everyone will forget all about the other past love interests.

Seriously though, she is my favorite character and I wouldn't mind a small cameo if it makes sense story-wise. But didn't we just have this thread a few days ago?

Yeah, count me solidly in the no category as well.  I have no need to see her again (don't hate her, but meh).  I'm really hoping for no cameos.  References?  Sure, but no on-screen cameos.
