Would anybody mind or be in favor of a protagonist with an accent?

Oh GOD no.
I'm sorry but both of them - ESPECIALLY Bailey - I just couldn't. I can't. If they went with those two, I'd be stuck playing dude-bro forever.
She's in so many damn things and she doesn't do a THING with her voice. These are not characters that Bailey happens to voice. They are just Bailey in a variety of masks. They are all Bailey. Bailey is everyone.
I can't play Female 1 in Saints Row because its just Bailey. I can't stand Bianca in DAI because its just Bailey. First few games I didn't have a problem with her, but then she was in the fourth...and the fith.. and the sixth... and the fourtenth... I just can't take it anymore.
Please, please just no.
ON TOPIC THOUGH: Yes to accents! Especially if they're not just the typical American accent they use for everything, or the upper-class English one. Those two are everywhere.
Let's have a northern England one. Or a Mexican one. Or an Indian one. Or a German one. Something a little different!

She does have range, but apparently it only comes out in animes. Plus if you listen to her at panels or in interviews, you'll find that the voice you know is not her regular speaking voice.
Most likely explanation: People love that voice, hence variations are everywhere.
I say bring on the Laura Bailey ![]()

So instead of "I should go", we'd get "O'right boi, Oi'll see yer 'amara".
But in all seriousness, there's lots of lovely accents out there other than US or English which would be nice to hear. Though I can't imagine playing Renegade with an Aussie accent: "G'day mate! I'm afraid i'm gunna have to rip yer head off. No hard feelings, right?"

Let's agree to disagree. Why do People in this Forum seem to be consistently calling out for a gruff female Voice? I mean, femShep didn't have the girliest of Voices either.

I'm more trying to avoid a gruff male voice.

OK, I tell you what. We'll have two male voices, the effete French accent and some hum drum GRRR man voice for you. For female we'll have a gruff German voice, and for you, a cutesy Japanese voice.

Why did you have to say Japanese?
If there's one Thing I want even less is anything that could be anywhere near an Anime.
Also, I'm totally fine with effeminate Male Voices.

I'd like to be able to choose the protagonist's home planet and accent.
