She's good, I'd love to have her voice my PC!

Reading some of the comments here, I really pity voice-actors. Do well in a series, make a role yours and your reward is to not be picked to star another role cos people don't want to recognise your voice. Good thing those peeps aren't in charge of hiring VAs or the good one's would have really short careers!

I don't want her to be a voice for the protagonist. No offense to her since she is a great voice actress, but I just would prefer other people for my protagonist. 

 

It depends on how they do it IMHO - if they make your protagonist into Stargate's Vala than: No way!

 

If they make her (the female protagonist) more like Aeryn Sun from Farscape? - Sure!

 

Though as long as the VA is done correctly (and the voice is pleasant!), I don't really care who does the work (as long as the voice actor is passionate about science fiction (I don't like it if companies use someone who doesn't care one bit for the finished product!)), hell, I'd love it if they gave someone who isn't famous a chance (people in the games industry should IMHO promote underdogs - as gamers (and many who work in the industry where gamers back when games made you a nerd who was made fun of etc.) once were such people themselves!)

I never really liked Claudia Black, mostly because of her role on Stargate. She does Morrigan well though, I'm not really interested in hearing her as a protagonist through an entire 30+ hour game.

So because of one role you didn't like you don't like the actress who played said role? That's logic.

Unfortunately, if you really hate a character the actor can continue to bring out a negative emotional response in you even when they're playing a different character. About half of the people who talk crap about Kaidan do so because they didn't like Carth and I have similar fears for myself with Jack's VA being the female lead of Fallout 4.

I would love to have Claudia do the PC female voice.  I remember the first time I saw her was in Pitch Black and I remember being mesmerized by her voice:  kind of scratchy with an Australian accent.  Then, years later, I realized that she was Morrigan (I skipped whatever sci fi show she is known for so I didn't know her outside of Pitch Black).  I would kill for Claudia to voice the female PC and do it in her Australian accent.  That would make my game, for sure!

 

To be honest, she's a pretty great VA.  I mean, Morrigan, Xen, and Aethyta sound nothing alike, so I'm pretty confident she could do a great job of disguising her voice enough that people wouldn't immediately think Morrigan.

Oh my, I didn't know that! I like her voice. Fortunately, I don't tend to have this association problem, since I can rarely recognise VOs. I disliked Oghren in DAO, and had no idea his VO also voiced Grunt.

Ah, so that's where I've heard her Aussie accent! I knew I'd heard it before and loved it, but I'd forgotten about Pitch Black. I also didn't know she voiced Aethyta, so wow, she's definitely got a great range.

Claudia Black is certainly the sort of voice for which they should be aiming. Something with gravity and presence; not too sing-songy.

Only if I have the Option to choose another Voice for my FemNotShep. Throw Rocks at me, but I greatly prefer light "sing-songy" Voices for female Characters I play.

She did an awesome job as Morrigan in the dragon age series. And she was also the quarian Admiral Xen in ME2 and 3. I've love to hear her voice again.
