You heard about that eh? And the mom wanted stricter regulation on fireworks as if they were to blame for her son's drunken mistake.
Its a natural reaction; To want to blame the tool instead of the hand that used it.
I won't chuckle at her. I honestly felt sad when I heard that the guy did that.
DID none of his friends try to actually physically stop him? Just saying "no don't do it".. Eeesh..
They probably all laughed at him until they saw the result.

His friends must've been just as drunk. But that's definitely something I'd stop too.. even if I was a party pooper. I'm too.... good at playing out worst case scenarios in my head.

It's never natural selection. That's what I dislike about the Darwin Award description, these idiots who kill themselves in stupid ways aren't eliminating anything undesirable from the gene pool. Not to mention that half of these people likely have already spread their genes.
In fact I recall a study that showed that people with better education don't end up having kids because they wait too long until they are financially stable. Given the statistics of all the poor non-educated families who have children (and how many they have) I think the survey is right.
LET ME HOPE THEY'LL DIE OUT! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DESTROY MY DREAMS!

Which is why I would endorse wholesale a license to breed requirement.
Not setting the bar high or anything, just to eliminate some of riff raff.

The most shocking thing about this story is that it didn't happen in Australia.
Nah, if it happened here, he would've killed the alligator. Then die of alcohol poisoning later that night.

Darwin award?
Darwin Award.
Turns out stupid tastes like human. Or human tastes like stupid? Don't know which. This is something science should investigate.

I think it's equally possible the alligator would have died of alcohol poisoning. They're big drinkers. Swamps are depressing.

The problem is, there's only so few alcohol-bags readily jumping into their mouths. Really, those inconsiderate people should start drinking and jumping into alligator swamps some more, don't just hog all the booze to themseleves. #Alcigators

I don't know what he expected.
Although this is really the kind of stuff I expect from Florida. Not from you, Texas.

Massively annoying how much people's perceptions vary.
Not an argument as to the goodness or rightness of one over the other but man...

The multitude of perceptions is the defining quality of individualism (biologically aswell as philosophically), so I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

And Florida would have been my second guess. Who the hell knew Texas had alligators?
Hell, I live here and I didn't know there were alligators. ![]()
Perhaps it was on the Eastern end, next to Lousiana.. lots of inland and coastland water.

That's what I was thinking as well. Gators are in the bayous, swaps and rivers from Florida to south east Texas. At least from my experience and where I've been.
