If any of you guys play on xbox one I'll kill a dragon for you, it's really not hard at all. You can fight the thing on routine if you really want to XD

Which makes the whole "Hey, it's free!" excuse pretty laughable.

It's not free to anyone really (not were the webpage ones). Cost of internet and electricity.

I didn't mind the webpage missions and stuff to unlock new content, those were fine since you weren't forced to play with other people online to get it, I prefer playing on my own, and so wouldn't mind so much if you could simply solo kill a dragon in MP, but I doubt that's even possible, maybe for some skilled experts, but not for a casual gamer like myself, I even have to play mass effect in casual mode but I love the game not because of the combat but because of the emersion and the story, which multiplayer sadly lacks since it's just about the combat and is apparently so much tougher than single player.

You can still fight a dragon on routine, it wouldn't take much playing by yourself to achieve.

If the SP has a war table mission which one of possibilities is to set up the trophies that the inquisitor has collected why do I need to play MP to actually see it?

That wartable mission is not the same as the new content via multiplayer.

I think you mean it is not the same as new content gated by multiplayer.

Normally I would say just play the MP. But DAIMP is so bad I totally agree with OP.

About the stuff locked by the mini game: One difference from this content is that said minigame was simply on the official site of the game. No need to have a stellar connection or pay psplus/xboxgold appositely. Only necessity having a way to connect on the site and sync the game.

And no requiremant to play for a long time with other people.

If even it is new MP content my question still stands... why it is given only by MP mission and not by SP war table mission too?

Story wise it makes no sense the inquisitor kill a dragon, does the war table mission to dislay the trophies but they are not shown, then an inquisition agent kills a dragon and Skyhold is full of dragon trophies on display... <_< If it is a sabotage to undermine the inquisitor display of power s/he requires new war table missions to investigate the source of it :police:, yeah... I am looking at you MP agents...

Considering that I have all those MP DLCs installed in my computer anyway they could just make a patch or something to unlock it tied to the war table mission, no?

I think the reason for this is because once you kill a dragon in multiplayer it's permentally unlocked in all your current games and any future games you do, it's automatically available, whereas having it as a reward in single player means you'd have to do that war table mission each time to unlock it, and that means if you've already done the war table mission in the past then there is no way for you to get the content using that means, same with making it a reward for killing all the dragons, you might have killed them all in the past, meaning there'd be no way for you to get hold of it, so only option they could do is simply make it automatically available for free or as part of a dlc, so then all your past games and future ones can benefit from it.

I think they should have had an alternative option of everyone who have unlocked the dragon hunter trophy/achievement automatically got this content.  This is clearly an attempt to force people to play multiplayer since it has been (as far as I can see) a very lack luster experience over all.   The content shouldn't be locked behind multiplayer.

I would much prefer to see dragon décor then Qun or Avaar. I just don't get the MP love.

There should, at the very least, be a way for SP-only players to earn it by, say, doing that "Kill all 10 high dragons" achievement.

Of all the achievements I received for DAI, I got nothing fantastic. All the codex entries, songs, notes, landmarks I got nothing. OK, maybe some XP, but really.

In MP, you kill one dragon, and get a reward? Seriously? Balls... I spent good money on item packs, being the obsessed fan that I am. And I can't earn a free one, but other people can because their entire elementary school class participates? Pffft. Yes, before you ask, I'm an older than most-gamer, and a female. Proud of it too.

I tried MP, I wanted to like it, like I did for Assassin's Creed games. I COULD NOT enjoy it. I didn't get far. Twenty minutes I was done. Even the guy at EB Games, who I regularly talk to about games like a typical geek, told me how much he HATES MP. This is a man who is supposed to endorse it.

Elder Scrolls Online is similar, I would start MP, get frustrated with other players logging off or freezing midway through a MP quest. I paid for a game I helped through BETA, and dropped after the first MP quest. It's not that I CAN'T kill one dragon, it's that I don't WANT to on someone else's timeline. I hate how every game is slowly trying to merge into the MMO genre. You're a SP game. You have a following of players who love your company for this very reason, the fact you can write kick ass plots and lore, likeable characters and stunning graphics. SOME people might want the MP experience, but most people either love it or hate it, and should have the choice WHICH way they want to earn specific rewards.

It isn't harder and on the lowest difficulty you can whack a dragon with comparative ease.

In terms of griping, this is basically a non-useful bit of eye candy being offered up. I have a lot more problem with the actually useful rewards for doing the stupid shards being locked behind...well doing the stupid shards. I'd love to be able to by pass that via MP.

I was at the time considering that as an option, mostly as a last resort, but I just don't have any desire what so ever to click that 'Multiplayer' button and actually go through the grinding process and fight the dragon, not if I can help it. I'm still hopeful they will release it to single players eventually, I'm not in any hurry to get the content and don't want to give in to bioware's attempts to force me into multiplayer, I shouldn't have to nor do I have any desire to.

Can it be done solo? With a low level character?

I even tried the MP to see how it is like but it was just hack & slash, no exploration, no role playing, all the other players were running so fast that I couldn't even understand what was going on... eventually I was killed and left behind. :pinched:

OP, the whole reason why they are doing this is to try and get people who only play SP to try MP.

Not saying I agree or disagree with it.

I doubt that was their intention, especially since those who try it will mostly just do it for the stuff then stop, I think it's more intended to bring back those who played it at the start who then stopped playing it after a while, trying to bring them back to try out the dragon levels, in the hope of keeping them playing for longer. The problem is by doing so and offering exclusive single player content as a reward, especially cool looking dragon content is going to greatly anger and penalise those who refuse to do MP at all. I'd have happily paid for the content but they haven't even provided that as an option.

That may be the case, too.  Regardless, this dragon theme has been put out to encourage MP play, so in order for it to effectively do that, they need to make it exclusive long enough to entice people to play MP.  So I would be prepared to wait a bit if I were you.  And that's *if* they decide to put it out for SP.

Although if demand is high enough, and they do release it for non-MP players, I have a feeling it won't be free.

In addition, it expressly goes against the promise they made before releaser to not gate any SP content behind MP.

The problem is the developers don't see it like that, they see this content simply as 'Cosmetic' which is what Mike Laidlaw tweeted back to me, however if that was the case why didn't they offer SP content as rewards for MP in the past, why only now. Honestly they should have just offered multiplayer users a new dragon themed background for the MP menu's instead of this, or even a new dragon decorated courtyard for the beginning part of each MP mission, and instead offer the SP content to everyone for free or a reward for killing their next dragon in SP.

Saying "This content doesn't count, it's just cosmetic" is like saying "Eating this cookie doesn't count because it broke" while on a diet. It's just making excuses for yourself and not fooling anyone.

I really wish they'd just tell all the MP-phobic types to just learn to cope. MP players are potentially more lucrative customers and should get better rewards than the SP types. The wall they built was too high. I'd be much happier if I could MP my way to shards instead of playing hide and seek with the darn things.

There's a difference between MP shy and not wishing to do MP, we all prefer different ways of playing games and all of them should be respected by game developers, also what about those who can't access MP either due to requiring monthly subscription like Xbox 360, or those with poor internet connection, they also shouldn't be left out, out of no fault of their own.
