I hope it`s not to early to start this topic. I did it cause I read news about Mirrors Edge CE - it will be exclusive to GameSpot, just like Inquisition CE. I am afraid that the same will happen in Mass Effect franchise. I am sure everyone here remember what does it mean for people from countries without GameSpot shops. So here`s my plea- Bioware don`t do this again.
And at the end-sorry for my english, I dont have many oportunities to use it.
It really boils down to money and GameStop probably gives EA a lot of money to make it exclusive. It has happened with other games outside of EA as well from what I understand and I don't follow collector's editions anymore so I can't be 100% sure, but I think GTAV was one of them.
Collector's Edition means pre order and I urge you not to pre order any games, especially from EA.
And by the way, those CE are not really worth the money. Look at Witcher series, those standard editions provide more content than any recent collector's editions released by other companies.
I'll be pre-ordering. The PC version will probably have the CE on Origin. I don't see them trusting game stop's shoddy digital distribution system.

I quit pre-ordering from EA when they switch from UPS to USPS, and games wouldn't get to my house until a week after the release date.

I buy a game on release day after I see if it's broken or complete crap or not. Pre-ordering has no advantage, games are never going to sell out. Worst, you are basically supporting devs to do crappy business practices as:
a ) You support devs cut stuff out of their game and put them as pre-order bonuses
b ) You are confirming them a sale before they even finish the game. Why do you think devs dont care anymore and just release broken titles?

There are only few developers which games I usually buy in preorder and unlucky for you one of them is Bioware.

It's called principle, you're just too much of a sheep to understand that. You cannot return a physical copy of your game if it doesnt work.

Ehh I don't think pre-ordering is great and for certain devs and publishers I wouldn't recommend it however its up to the discretion of the buyer for example certain companies I'm fine with pre-ordering from such as Bethesda and Bioware (yes I know EA is the publisher and owner of Bioware). Its the mistake of the buyer I'm fine with making this possible mistake with games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout, etc

Yeah I was really mad when this happened to me with Titanfall. The worst part is that the warehouse where my game started was 120 miles away, it was driven past my house across two states, and then driven back.

Given that Origin gives refunds for a couple of days after purchasing/release, I see little reason not to pre-order a BW game which I am expecting to like. If it's unplayably broken, I get my money back. If it's not, I get the pre-order stuff without having to pay extra....
I expect I'll get the digital CE, if there is such a thing, though I'm not going to bother with a fancy physical copy.
I'll certainly preorder the game, but I'll wait a bit for an announcement to decide how. The Inquisitor's Edition was a disappointment. Everything was crap save for the tarot cards, which were almost worth the premium all by themselves. If it looks like it's gonna be shoddy garbage again, I'll just do an Origin DD.

I have ME2, ME3 DAO and DA2 collector's editions for PC and none of them were worth the money, so no, no more pre orders and CE from BioWare.
When it comes to CDPR and Witcher series I have all 3 games with CE and standard editions (yes, two - CE and standard for each game) but that's a bit different story.
I know CD Projekt for years and I know how they released games in the past before they started developing games themselves and I trust them. So far they didn't betray my trust, unlike BioWare, but like I said, it's a different story.
Might depend on where you live.
Anyway, nevermind me, I'm one of those crazy Star Citizen supporters

CEs has brought be bad luck somehow... i got a Darth Malus Figure in my house... if you know what i mean...
I may not like EA but I trust Bioware enough to preorder. As for the CE, I may get it. It depends on the package and price.
More than likely there will be a collectors for ME:A. Unfortunately, pre-ordering isn't what it used to be. Most of the items received are a timed-exclusive, or the in-game bonuses and the extra goodies you get just doesn't make it worth it.
I love Mass Effect and BioWare and I'll cave in an pre-order 2 collectors copies. But I've learned my lesson after pre-ordering the Watch Dogs CE
