Haven't played in months, doubt if I ever will.
If Bioware ever comes back to making the great gaames they once did, I might give them a chance.
But Mass Effect 2 was weak. Although the combat was fixed up, the plot was extremely nonsensical and poorly paced.
Then they killed that franchise with number 3. And before you say it was decent except for the last 20 minutes. No, it was not. All the fetch quests, the auto dialogue (where the player could not choose the dialogue), reusing multiplayer maps, and the lack of any decisions making any difference all contribute to it. If the rachni queen died, she is replaced by another one supposdely made by the reapers. If Jack died she is replaced by a generic biotic, if Mordin died he is replaced by a generic Salarian, no decision you made earlier has any impact at all. And don't get me started on the ridiculous plot involving Cerberus. They should have been wrapped up early in the game. I cannot see why Commander Shepherd would ignore a galaxy wide invasion of super advanced robots in order to go after a small terrorist group that allied with them. Do you not have bigger things to worry about than Cerberus right now?
Then they damaged Dragon age with number 2. The endlessly reused maps, the wave after wave of enemies in comically fast paced fights, not to mention a fairly weak storyline and characters.
Finally we have this mess. It would take several posts to point out its flaws. Let''s just say the open world filled with asolutely nothing but respawning enemies, and the poorly executed war table are on the top the list. As well as the silly and ill paced plot. I mean Corypheus is the single worst character Bioware ever made, the DLC about him was silly. To make a whole game based on him as a vilain. . . .let's just say I cannot imagine what they were thinking.
No, in my mind Bioware is another victim of EA's greed. Another company gobbled up and ran into the ground, like Westwood, Bullfrog and Origin.
Granted the current CEO at EA seems to be trying hard to turn it around. But he came too late to have any impact on things.
Right now I am playing a real RPG, Pillars of Eternity. And I am looking forward to another RPG, Torment: Planes of Numenera.
It is shame too, because nobody could ever match what Bioware did, and maybe nobody ever will. But all that is gone now.
