I will problably buy the game as soon it is out, all the hype will make me weak.
I think this thread needs to be retitled to "Does anyone else need to be spoiled on all major decisions and consequences of our choices before they'll be willing to buy the game because they're afraid of the ending?"
I DO have hopes for this, granted I don't do strategy games, and although this is Mass Effect and primarily (supposedly) a TPS / exploration adventure, the strategic element of base-building and the likes gets me worried - not for the game in the case of a general audience, but for it short on reaching my hopes as a Mass Effect game.
So yes, I might cancel my pre-order of it and read some more into it as the day approaches and we start to see more what this is turning into.

One of those people, huh. Well, personally I'll let the ending come as it will - because I can't do a thing about it either way - but people should be entitled to getting to know why they think they should invest in a game as much as possible.

People can do as they like, but I don't think I'll ever understand why people feel like they need to be told the consequences of major choices or see a let's play of a game before they decide to buy it.
I can understand waiting for reviews, I can understand taking the word of someone who has similar tastes in games as oneself, I can even understand waiting until the game is cheaper or buying used.
It's just not fun watching someone else play a game that you could be playing is all I think, and I think it's even less fun if you allow yourself to be spoiled on major choices and their consequences watching the Let's Play as a determiner of buying the game or not.

Base building, eh? I missed that part, though it makes some sense. The question is; will it be like the Geoscape from XCOM: Enemy Unknown or like a facebook/mobile building game?

I do it for games I know I won't play. There are too many games to play them all, though I was pleasantly surprised by the quality story in a few that never piqued my interest at all.
Nah I nether need or want to see any kind of a "let's play" or walkthrough before hand, I don't want to spoil it for myself, so i'll be actively avoiding such things once we get closer to the game being released.
I'm being pretty wary when it comes to ME:A after how ME3 turned out. I'll be watching a let's play or something before I actually buy it. May end up not even getting it at all! Especially with Space Engineers getting planets, Elite: Dangerous getting planetary landings, and Fallout 4 coming out. There's a good chance I may end up passing it up in the long run. Still hoping it turns out good though. I don't expect much though after ME3. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.
I won't watchany of those. I'd like to experience it all in my own time. I'm excited to see what this new adventure of mass effect brings and excited to jump back into the world of Mass Effect and explore! ![]()
