If I have to buy this game personally I'm buying used. The only game from BW I bought brand new personally was ME2. More footage or not I'm getting this game, but I'll make sure I'm not actively supporting them.

First, why do you keep putting that stupid "<<<<<<<<<<0>>>>>>>>>>" thing after quotes?

Second, people like different things, so drop the holier-than-thou attitude.

                                                                                                      <<<<<<<<<<0>>>>>>>>>>

It has nothing to to with like.  It, however, has  everything to do with value for money spent.  I expect value, which is why my bar is set high.

As these forums make clear every day, there is no one standard for what constitutes a "quality product".

                                                                                             <<<<<<<<<<0>>>>>>>>>>

While true, there is an implied warranty of fitness.

You expect the bloody program to work. Batman: Arkham Knitght, for example, was pre-ordered by many a PC player and they found out it was totally unplayable. So much so, that the publisher pull it out of the PC market until it gets fixed with a full refund if you so desired. Obviously, in this case, B:AK does not constitute a "quality product". Equally, obvious, it was the worst PC game launch in recent history. A simple google search will confirm my statements.

Nevertheless,  I wish all the best to Bio Montreal.

Eh, I'm only going to play it for the MP. I won't put much stock in a Shepardless Mass Effect single player campaign.

Okay, but by that standard, every Bioware release so far has been a quality product. Despite all of the nonsense people posted in that PC community thread, DAI has always been perfectly functional and playable.

I agree I've not had any technical issues with DAI or any of Bioware's games for that matter that I've bought. They all run just fine for me aside from a black blocks glitch in ME1 which I work around. But that's down to the CPU in my system not the game as I have one of those 8 core AMD CPU's.

Oh 8 core, then it´s the geth trying to invade your system from the game. ;)

I do. That's my policy now for most games though. I check out the game on YT before deciding whether I want to buy it.

Define "better."

Also explain how you know a game will be better that hasn't been released yet in comparison to another game that hasn't been released yet.

:P

better for me..in what I like in a game :P mainly Story . DAI felt watered down..I can forgive everything else..bug..crash..but never screw me when it come to story . And thats what DAI did..giving me a story that was soo...ughhhhh.....

well while fallout 4 will be open world , I doubt they do what DAI did . Spawn Large maps with hidden lamo codex here and there . And The next Tomb Raider will follow where the last one was....so they have more chance to be less dissapointing .

Which, after my DAI experience, I totally agree with you. Though, I will buy it on sale, rather than used. Buying used you are taking chances with EA's DRM.

Well...ehh..no so fast. Also, it depends on the hardware platform you play the game.

DAI was not playable off the gate for me (PC version). Keyboard and mouse controls sucked big time compared from what I expected, from playing DA:O and DA2. Elhanan, of course, disagrees but he and I have had this disagreement in the DAI forums... which is why he agrees with you.

In other words, the keyboard controls, mouse and mouse re-mapping worked well in the previous two games. yet, Bio Edmonton felt it was necessary to severely change, for the worse, that formula. Many of us (PC users ) in the forums suspect it was a very poor console port. So, quality in this instance for me, does not apply. Specifically, the default K+M controls in DAI gave me finger cramps, while the default K+M controls in the previous two games did not... See what I mean?

In playing a new game from the same IP it is only natural to compare it against any previous titles. If the new game gives you control problems I doubt you will call it a quality product. Be as it may, I demand much for my money. I gladly let the publisher/Bio know what I liked and what I do not like and Elhanan will tell you that I gave both.... though I was vociferous in my negative comments regarding K+M controls while he was their defense champion.

TW3 also did not work for some 'out of the gate', as some in that same thread can attest. But somehow both games are quite successful, and bugs and glitches do occur even for the best of games.

I will await to see what the general consensus is, and maybe see what dlc is planned to come out. Especially if me3 is the template they are using.

I have never understood people who pre-order; seems crazy to me.

Not so crazy, as pre-orders can gain the lower prices along the way, or be cancelled if something undesirable occurs before launch.

yeah during the Noveria and Ilos missions the player companions asnd everything else turns into black blocks through part of the level. Fortunately there is a workaround though but it is damn annoying

Here's a picture of it.

Spoiler

I run into that every time I've played.  In Noveria, it only happens from the beginning of Peak 15 until you get past Mira (the VI that never shuts up) and into the lab areas.  Once you get off of the tram there, save and reload your game.  The textures will come back.

With Ilos, I've never seen the planet as intended.  All characters and interactive objects become black boxes, and the only workaround is the viewmode console command.  Which does odd things to the lighting, pretty much eliminating shadows and makes it a lot brighter unfortunately. This is why, while I won't completely spoil myself on future ME games, I am not buying it on release day or pre-ordering it new.  I want to know what I'm getting into first.  Bugs and crashes kill my immersion faster than anything else can in a game.

Your tirade here literally just boils down to, "They changed the controls pretty significantly and I didn't like it." Not the same as the game being unplayable, and not the same as the game being low-quality.

No, video games are interactive experiences that you can't adequately judge without interacting with them first hand. The very notion of determining your value of an interactive experience by viewing it through a passive format is absurd to me. Unless you are the one playing it, you don't really know what playing it is like. The very notion of watching a video game to find out if you should play it is silly. Either read reviews you trust, do product research, rent the game, or take the risk and buy the game. Watching interactive content through passive mediums is wholly inadequate.

And all of that doesn't even begin to take into the account the act of roleplaying, which most youtubers have absolutely no idea what roleplaying is.

Well, it's not in itself an illegitimate use of the word; "unplayable" can be used to mean "I couldn't stand to play it" too. If I say that The Bachelorette is unwatchable, nobody thinks that I can't physically focus my eyes on the screen while that show is on.

The problem comes when people mix up the two uses. Sometimes this is just clueless, other times it's outright tendentious.

So...you're assuming that Fallout 4 will have a great story alongside exploration.

Unless you're one of the people who play before release with a reviewer's copy or are one of the people who play-test the game, it's simply not possible to say with certainty that it'll be awesome or if it'll suck.

The hype for ME3 was through the roof, and most people I know were fully expecting a high quality game, which it was, until they got to the last ten minutes. And the last ten minutes, to some, ruined the whole trilogy to them.

I'm not saying the same will happen to Fallout 4, but I am saying that it's impossible to say that its developers are guaranteed to do a much better job than Bioware because you've been disappointed with a few of the recent games from Bioware, you can only assume they'll be better.

Which again, is pointless. It's comparing the quality of one game that isn't out, hasn't been reviewed and isn't finished being made yet in comparison to another game that isn't out yet, and that makes no sense logically.

ill be buying it the day it comes out. If they do a midnight release ill be there. I loved all the ME games. Just cause i dont like the endings, doesn't make it a bad game for me. I joke about **** in the original trilogy but its still my favorite game trilogy of all time. I know ill be one of the first people to get it.

For those who want to watch a review of the game before buying it. I really suggest "The Angry Joe Show".
