I've been staring at this thing for a while saying huh? But base is 3 damage less than dragon but it's got 18% crit 22% hok and 1% HoH with a grip slot.Only thing dragon bow really has on it is 41% attack, but this bow is like a friggin life salve for archer. And then you add that crit rate with opportunity knocks I'm thinking, huh?

Someone asked me today if they should use Cruel Redemption over dragon bow, and I said no, but this....

First off i am sorry but that is dumb, I always used Cruel over dragon (Crit Damage 81%) but yes this bow is better

I dunno what bow of cruel redemption you were using, but mine only has like 27% crit damage. If you actually put crit damage into it over attack% then that's just dumb.

All hail the heartstring bow. Until I get the Hakkon Bow anyways  . Somewhere close to 40 runs and I got the sword on my first and that's it. I guess that's good luck?

No, you end up doing more damage with the total 81% crit damage than the 21% atk you can put on it. I tried both, the crit damage won every time

I mean if you're talking about seeing the highest numbers possible once in a while, then yeah crit damage is the way to go. If you're talking about higher dps then higher crit damage is only good if you have high crit rate.

With an archer you should be criting more often than not, especially with long shot. My cunning is only at 70 but, once again, archers crit a lot, hence the crit damage. Which equals more damage over all

Fair enough, out of defensive mode and into this bow is awesome mode. This bow is the reaver 2% HoH buff on steroids. Didn't know it existed til tonight, but it's a lot of fun.

A little red and white thing just below the grip? Cruel Redemption, in that case.

There's also a low level 'sniper' bow that has the large-ish guard plate on it.

I think it probably is the one Aggrojagg talked about. I don't think it is the Bow of cruel redemption, it literally had some sort of protection of the front, like the one on bazuukas. Btw is the bow of cruel redemption the one with HoH?

My memory isn't great, sorry >.>

Not true. Longshot and the Heartstring bow are both better.

My cunning is 34. Plus 16 on my armor plus heartstrings bow my crit chance is already 43. With archer passives it's plenty even there.

I go crit damage always!!! Especially on Hunter. Hunter mines heal me from almost dead to full every time.
Crit damAge exceeds attack % almost always

Heartstring is pretty nasty. It's the only new weapon I have so far and it's glorious. I sit there and laugh while my hunter crits 900s with basic attacks.

What's the state of damage bonuses for not being hit nowadays?

Wish I knew. Testing required.

I feel like the Longshot bow could be very good due to flanking potential with stealth --> fulldraw (knife in the shadows) when positioned behind enemies. Even if the extra damage from not hit bonus doesn't work, it'll be amazing damage. If it does though, it is absolutely droolworthy damage potentially higher than even the Hakkon bow if the multipliers work the way I think they do.
