Hey, everyone. For the sake of transparency I thought I'd let you know about three key changes that have happened starting today (technically late last night in Edmonton time - yes, we apparently have our own time here...)

1. Changes to Rare Armor Drops

The armor drops from the chests have been changed slightly. Before you could get any armor for most classes (There were no AW armors or any of the variants for katari, necro, and alchemist). Now all classes are equally represented but there are only armor drops for the primary armor its color variants. This means that (if you don't already have) the 2nd tier armor and its variants you have to craft them. This was done to line-up with the new progression of the class armors with regards to armor rating.

One side effect is that those who were close to full inventories will now be able to receive more unsalvagable items (if you didn't craft this variants). We will be raising the number of items you can carry sometime very soon to accommodate for this.

2. Changes to Potion Drop Rates

Potions gained from chests will now stop appearing if you hit 255 of that specific potion. This mostly effects people who have been playing a long time but it allows for you to only get potions you're actually using if you happen to be at 255 (or more) with ones you are not using.

And if you're curious what happens if you cap out on all of them: No, you don't get a secret prize, you'll just starting getting flooded with basic healing potions :)

3. Changes to Unique Dragon Weapons (Perilous) and Hakkon Weapons Drop Rates

These special Dragon Drop items are now gated by your item score to prevent brand new Players for purposely (or accidentally) getting them and bypassing the majority of the progression of the game. The scores you have to pass are quite low (roughly 300/800 items respectively).

Additionally, the drop rates for Hakkon weapons now scale based on how many total Hakkon weapons you have. Your first one should be pretty good odds (~15-20%) and drastically reduce after each one.

(Oh and you can no longer get two of the dagger)

Any update for the players who already have two daggers?

I'll see if I can get a report on how many people that actually is and decide what to do about it. If it's less than 10 I'm inclined to let them be super awesome but I may offer to swap their less damage one for an item of their choice (or maybe something new next patch). I definitely won't be just deleting it from them without any compensation.

So no spawn-camping fix yet? Excellent.

The radius was cut in half as of about 12 minutes ago. We'll see if that fixes it - I don't really want to make it so creatures can spawn on your head...

Are the droprates 15%, 7.5%, 5%, 2% (as discussed previously).. or different?  Thanks.

Roughly this. I round a lot when I talk about numbers

Is there a way to tell what item bucket you're in?

Working on a way to show this to you in a much better way.

My other question:

What if I salvage my Hakkon weapons, can I reset back to the highest droprate?

Yes, it just tracks how many total you have on your account, not how many you have received.

Hey Luke, could you please explain why youve just decided to screw over half the people who play and enjoy nightmare? I dont see how its possible to complete unless you have a full team with at least 2 or 3 high promotion players. With the combination of Arcane Horrors spawning on top of your head and the already difficult enemies, I really dont see how this is doable for casual players like myself. I dont have any hakkon weapons and I most likely never will now. Im certainly not going to be grinding nightmare in the state that it is at the moment.

What difficulty do you suggest I play at? Perilous is far to easy due to the armor buffs and nightmare is impossibly hard for me now? Should I just quit? Because thats what you seem to be suggesting I do by implementing the changes you are.

I suspect Nightmare will prove a bit too challenging for some people this weekend - luckily the weekend doesn't last forever.

Horrors are part of the weekend challenge.  We'll look at tweaking the spawn radius some more.

This does not work for me. I spent about 50-60k worth of gold in mixed potions. I checked in multiple occasions to see I receive potions I have 255 of via before-after screenshotting.

Looks like this one was actually scheduled for next Monday and not today as it plays in with some... other stuff :bandit:

Just an update to this:

The potion change has been pushed back to Friday but it is still coming.

Additionally, I'm happy to announce that the max inventory size will be raised on Friday (+50) as well! [:wizard:]

If we have over 255 potions now (as I no doubt do), do we retain them or are they all going to reset to 255 as max?

You'll keep them. I basically just injected some logic that tells the loot table not to drop it if you have >= 255.

Actually, I'm not sure this answers the question about armor drops for new players.  Let me explain my question.

So there are 4 levels of armor quality, correct?  For example, the reaver can have an armor rating of 76 (common), 119, 138 (both rare) and 184 (unique).  The basic 76 armor clearly drops from chests.  Once you craft the first 119 armor, then yes, you can get the other 119 armor as a drop in a chest.  But can you still get your FIRST 119 armor from a chest?  I suspect that most of the people posting here have at least one piece unlocked in all 4 armor tiers, and are just filling out the missing pieces.  Are those the types of blues you were getting?  Can anyone confirm whether they unlocked a new armor tier in a chest since the change?

Luke's original post above makes it sound like you can't unlock a new armor tier any longer.  And that's been my experience since the change.  It could just be an RNG issue, but I'm just trying to understand Luke's comment.

If you're looking at it as 4 tiers of armor only the first two should be dropping from chests now - I did however ensure that every one of the base 12 classes had all those armors in the loot table as previously some were missing.
