Hey Luke, could you please explain why youve just decided to screw over half the people who play and enjoy nightmare? I dont see how its possible to complete unless you have a full team with at least 2 or 3 high promotion players. With the combination of Arcane Horrors spawning on top of your head and the already difficult enemies, I really dont see how this is doable for casual players like myself. I dont have any hakkon weapons and I most likely never will now. Im certainly not going to be grinding nightmare in the state that it is at the moment. 

 

What difficulty do you suggest I play at? Perilous is far to easy due to the armor buffs and nightmare is impossibly hard for me now? Should I just quit? Because thats what you seem to be suggesting I do by implementing the changes you are.

 

I suspect Nightmare will prove a bit too challenging for some people this weekend - luckily the weekend doesn't last forever.

Was not nighmare really hard before this change you being a casual with no hakkon weapons and all?


I have hakkon weapons and im getting screwed over by enemies spawning in my LoS. My stats are in the 40s.i cant stand up to a firing squad of archers and shrug it off.

These loot changes seem unfriendly to new players. Maybe I'm still to fresh to be worthy of voicing my opinion, but I'm curious as to why new players are being discouraged.

 

It was not mentioned, but in the last patch with the changes to the loot curve, people lower on it were getting poorer loot after the patch. I've yet to reach my first 100,000, but I'm steadily pushing ahead. Last patch I went from regularly getting 20+ blues to rarely getting anything over level 16. Now there's further hindrances for new players?

Some of us have time to play only on the weekend. I was planning to get a good gaming session for some NM grinding this Sunday but I guess I'll just have a longer exercise session instead. It's more healthy anyway. -_-

Are the droprates 15%, 7.5%, 5%, 2% (as discussed previously).. or different?  Thanks.

I don't see why spawn camping is a bad thing. I mean the experience we get from it is extremely low and it takes a lot of coordination. I doubt there's a lot of people capable of it. Is biower just mad that we aren't wasting our time of a run that would take up way too much time? I can't more than a couple nightmare runs when I play. I doubt others can do it at all anymore. Just because we are forced to sit there for all the dumb enemies to spawn in threes doesn't make nightmare more fun or a better gamemode which is what it should be.

Hm. Can't tell if this means they'll continue looking into it or a suggestion to get more promotions and/or L2P. Leaning toward the latter.

Ah well. Back to Perilous farming...

If this doesn't work they will change it to something else.  Unfortunately once the word 'farming' comes up with spawns on high levels meant to challenge they stick in things to counter them.  In most cases the good players will adopt a new strat, if they can't or don't and the player pops go down too low BioWare will readjust.

Yeah the new spawn system sucks. Why change the whole thing just because some groups are spawn blocking in ferelden castle? To be honest I don't really understand why we can't just have a set amount of enemies per wave.

Cant have the top 5% of players enjoy and complete nightmare. Got to limit it to the top 0.01% who can survive shadows landing on their head! Good job bioware. You never fail to screw things up.

This wouldnt be an issue if the devs werent trash at their own games. This was evidenced in ME3 where everything was balanced for silver and it was evidenced in the live streams where it was a miracle if they made it through threatening. I doubt anybody at the bioware studio has completed a nightmare run. Its just a knee jerk reaction: Having fun and having success? Cant be having that! NERF.

I am more interested in the Despair demon fix. Luke, didn't you say that after you changed the code that was inhibiting you from doing so, you'd fix them? Also, they still wall hack. :(

You nailed the player portion right on the head. The sense of entitlement a lot of the player base on the board has never ceases to amaze me.

They don't always need to tweak things to pander. They apparently felt that people spawn camping was a hindrance to the game's difficulty and took measures to rectify. I'm not saying I agree or disagree but not every change has to be because someone asked for it.
