They should just cancel the DLC and start on the next game.

Did this really need a new thread though?

It's my own opinion feedback. I suppose I could have hijacked another thread with my personal rant and feelings about the matter, but I didn't feel quite right about it.

If I could have emailed the company in private I would have. Course I am half blind so it's entirely possible I missed a contact us link somewhere.

Usually there is always some problems with patches often for many platforms so I don't know at this point if it's some kind of Ps3/Xbox360 problem or if many players have it or is it rare ^^;

In all honesty never expierenced issues after patching (probably jinxed myself) I never thought it was a thing until Skyrim. Hard crashes when you waltzed into water was one issue that occured after a patch (I personally never had that problem).

I've just noticed several other users here mentioning some... a lot of issues after the latest patch with old gen. Something about the Black Emporium and screwed up audio. I hope it's a rare thing (that gets fixed), because I can't imagine the frustration.

Money grubbing never changed... charging customers for multiple times of the same contents will be the foundation of future financial report.

The truth is cruel.

Part of me, the selfish me agrees. The other half, not so much. It would be a shame to penalize everyone for the shortcomings and irresponsiblities of this company.

I am sure they'll go ahead with the rest of the DLCs and cut ties with both PS3 and 360. I can only hope these new DLCs will be spectacular in that they exceed in everything the main game was meant to be. At least then maybe something good came out this ugliness.

(A damn shame I won't be apart of new gen BioWare though B))

Well if they can't surpass the main game, then they should just cancel the whole franchise.

That's what the next game should do, DLC is just to expand the story and if it does things that main was original gonna do but couldn't then that's an added bonus

It is a DLC, they dare not even classify it as an expansion. At most they will add some point of interest in existing maps, plug a few more war table icons for us to click. Add an area or two. Add couple of story NPC. Put more enemies on screen. What else can they do?

If they wish to do more, they should have made Dragon Age Inquisition 2.... or at the very least an expansion.

Right, they should stop making DLC for this game and make a sequel. Again, making this game for 360/PS3 was a mistake. If the sequel fails to surpass DAI though, then close up shop, I doubt it will be seriously missed.

Well it's rumored to give end to DAI's story that apparently is left unfinished.

Yeah, tis suppose to be "The end of the Inquisitor's story". However that does not mean that the DLCs will have any thing spectacular because they are just DLCs. Adding a couple areas and NPC, reuse maps, war tables would be sufficient to finish telling the story. At best we get a large epic battle with more character on screen - all your companions maybe but... that wont like "Surpass the main game"

~Snicker~ Given how "GOOD" Bioware's previous few endings are. It will be very interesting to see how they will end the Inquisitor's story. I am actually looking forward to it.

I wonder if their would be more of outcry if the new gen exclusive DLCs are as subpar as JoH and the base game, mind you I enjoyed both, but people seem to think the abandonment of PS3 & Xbox 360 will harold a series of exceedingly brilliant DLCs. I'm hopeful that's the case, else it just reaffirms my refusal to support this company financially.

I figure the Inquisitor would get locked in a rift or something, someone with THAT much power roaming around freely in Thedas? I just can't fathom. I suppose he/she could do what Dragon Age protagonists do best, drop off the face of the mortal realm, hiding in some remote cave. I would think that would get stale after a while.

The way I see it is: the damaged is already done.

The main game was designed with PS3/XB360 in mind. They cant have huge lively cities. They cant have huge epic final battles, They cant have better hairstyle, they simply cant do a lot of things.

Now what can they do with the up coming DLCs? At best is a new area that is visually richer and a final battle that is larger and more epic.

I have never seen any DLC transform a base game into something greater than itself.

I was just as bothered by this announcement as the topic creator, but I've since decided it's not worth upgrading and re-buying JUST for some DLC. I always planned on getting a PS4 for Bloodborne and Batman: Arkham Knight, it just won't include a second copy of Inquisition. One day I'll buy Jaws of Hakkon for my PS3 so I can try out those new materials.

I still feel for anyone that wants more DLC for the old gen consoles, I'm just not one of those guys anymore.

Oh I agree. Although, my belief leans more towards laziness. Why would a company, that abandons it's product midway through it's life cycle, out of convenience, be bothered to put anymore effort into some extra content?

I'm just being hopeful, I'd hate to be screwed out of some more Dragon Age just because BioWare/EA felt I and many others were an inconvenience.

I know I've mentioned this before, but Bethesda could have easily abandoned the PS3 out of convience. While I wasn't happy about the shoddy port job they with Skyrim, I am impressed with how much effort they put into making the darn game work AND give all us PS3 the DLCs (which were delayed beyond delayed!).

Dark souls II, I've read (in consensus), is the only game (I'm sure there are others) to have DLCs that surpassed the original base game (excluding Scholar of the First Sin edition). I haven't purchased those as of yet, but I've read/heard they brought back elements that we original Dark Souls fans enjoyed. Which unfortunately Dark Souls II by itself lacked. But, it's all opinions. Lol.

I had planned on upgrading in the future. I had even planned to buy a second copy of DA:I and all DLCs if need be, because I didn't mind financially supporting BioWare. Not anymore, not after this nasty little stunt.

I bought JoH because I expected my copy of DA:I to get it's full support, now I feel a little cheated. I feel like a fish that fell for the bait. <_<

While SONY and Microsoft might not have had anything to do with this little tactic, I'm not buying their new consoles new. USED. I'll be purchasing a PS4 (I too want to play Bloodborne. I'm not made of stone) used and all BioWare/EA products USED and no more DLCs.

I've never been so angry at a company enough to do something like this, but I poured a lot of heart and soul into this franchise and for it to suddenly be "taken" away from me? Just because of my console of choice? Ridiculous.

You'll have to forgive me if I sound overly emotional.

It's hard not to get all riled over something you loved and enjoyed.

Not laziness. Tis all about money. The game released when current gen consoles were just launched. A huge number of players are still using last gen consoles. Now as more and more people upgraded, the last gen console's player base is no longer profitable.

That and I suspect not many play their MP on last gen consoles, which means no micro transaction. Thus, any wise business person would sacrifice integrity for profit.

Note: I am being very kind to assume that they have integrity to sacrifice.

Laziness in that it would require more work AND money than they are willing to spend, yes.

See, I don't understand that sort of mentality in the business world. Sure you get your profits, but long term you just serve to damage your reputation with your consumers and potential future clients. It's flawed and shortsighted.

You come off as very unprofessional as well, in that you abandon your product midway through it's life cycle? I, as an artist cannot do something like that. I can't one day say "Well, good enough," or "Well, I don't really feel like working on your comission anymore, so... I'm done, here's what I've done,". I'd get paid my works worth (if anything) and then that person goes around telling other potential customers I don't really finish what I start, or that I promised grandiose quality art, but turn out subpar work upon completion.

Also, props to CD Projekt RED they have a superb customer relationship going on at the moment, and as a result they've got one of the most fierce fanbases around. I hope they keep it up!

You didn't Microsoft (gawd am I praising them?) abandon the Xbox360 because of it's high malfunction rate back in the day. You didn't see Bethesda trash PS3 Skyrim because of how difficult it was to fix and port.

There is little excuse that BioWare/EA cannot at least manage something.

I suspected their lack of integrity after they cancelled DAII last supposed DLC. Didn't they just abandon it basically? It's been so long *cough*. As I've mentioned, you can't just say "good enough,". Well, I suppose you can if your fanbase doesn't care, but it was still an odd/unprofessional move imo.

I don't really think old gen is that limiting. Lot of those things have been done in old gen games before, Bioware games included. However I think frostbite added limitations and especially working with it and old gen. Hairstyles suffer from bad design, some are fine to me, not on old gen so much though since quality of hair is nowhere around new gen.

I'm planning on getting a ps4, but not till the Uncharted trilogy is released. As far as buying another copy of DAI, I will buy a copy, not new, but used and at a much lower price

I'm genuinely curious as to why you think this, care to elaborate?

Not to invalidate your opinion in anyway, again I'm just curious. If you don't feel like sharing, that's fine too.
