The avoiding of the forums probably started with DA2, certainly the hounding of Jennifer Hepler would not have put the bsn in a positive light.

There were plenty of devs on here during DAI development. The forum is not nearly as bad as its portrayed, for the most part even issues critical of BW are discussed fairly rationally. Indeed it looks to me like critical threads only really get inflamed when BW defenders start posting nonsense like some of the responses to the recent decisions to drop last gen support and gate SP content behind MP. Plus there's the idea discussed before that if BW discussed these issues on the forum then it would lead to a higher standard of discussion generally.

It's terrible. Some people say there are underlings who lurk here and report to the devs, but it can't be true. There is no way the devs wouldn't know about some of the issues the forum (and other places on the internet) have discussed widely and at length if it were true. It makes me so sad and frustrated that they wouldn't use this resource! It's just so stupid not to! I and many, many other people have suggested some simple things that could be added; easily patched in, and they won't even consider it, because they don't even know about it! I just don't understand! :crying:

I know right?!
This is a valuable rescource here BioWare! Please use it.

(Not that I'd be heard or even acknowledged)

Some of the peeps here offer awesome ideas and things to patch etc. See, some of the work is done for you!
Eh, I'm sure they peek, just lurk about. I find it hard to imagine that they'd just NOT use their own website.

... right?

It could be easy or it could not. Can't know without knowing Frostbite intimately and how things to about going into the game.

Sometimes, yeah. But sometimes, it really is simple. Players can use cheat engines to simply change a 1 to a 0 (or a 0 to a 1?) and BAM! You can wear armour in Skyhold, solving (if rather crudely) the complaints about the Skyhold outfit. No new models need to be made. Easy. Another easy one would be to let us tint the Skyhold outfit, also quelling a large number of complaints. Don't tell me it's hard, because it's right under the plate on my chest, and I can already tint it there. All they have to do is unlock the ability for us to do it without armour on.

There, easily solutions for one of the most universally-criticized problems with the game. And that's just one problem. People have a staggering amount of good ideas that are being wasted, some hard but worth it, and some just plain easy.

honestly for the moment i'd like a solution to the crappy cutscene performance, I mean for a franchise that's supposed to be character and story driven, one would think they'd try and nail a steady performance in cutscenes on all platforms right?

With last-gen consoles getting the boot I want bioware to make the cutscenes playing at 60 FPS.

A bit off-topic, but am I the only one who prefers 30 FPS? Higher tends to make me sick. To me, it also looks... fake, which break immersion, whether it's a game or movie.

It takes awhile to get use to

Watching TV in 60 FPS helps

Current gen still can't handle 60fps. Also, not enough threads on dropped last gen support. Need more.

I honestly cannot tell the difference. I need like a video or something to be able to show me these subtle differences.

Is this sarcasm?

Not to sound rude or anything, I genuinely can't tell these days.

So many smart derrieres roaming forums (not just here in particular).

Anyways if your expressing your exasperation for these threads...

You can make cutscenes play at 60fps on PC. Just add "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+" to Game Properties in Origin. If you are on PC. Still horrible imo.

I think it has more to do with the quality of the game or cutscenes.

For example, I can run cutscenes at 60fps in DAI but boy is it choppy as hell. Looking at that makes me feel sick. Not sure from motion sickness or disgust :P

The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker / Twilight Princess are rendered in 30fps but it was so smooth that it beats games at >60fps but with choppy animations and renders.

Tis hard to tell if you are watching someone else play and if those games do not have stuttering, tearing etc. If is also harder to tell/feel the difference if you are using a controller because controller moves the camera uniformly.

You can tell/feel the difference, or at least I can tell or feel the difference when I am playing first person shooters and I need to move my camera around very rapidly (with a mouse) a lot to scan for enemies. Tis more a feeling than visually seeing the difference although < 60fps usually means choppy camera movement.

Yes, it was sarcasm. You don't need to justify your reasoning behind starting this thread, that is your right as a consumer no matter how flawed the argument is.

DAI is $19.99 at Best Buy right now for PS4/Xbone if anyone is looking to upgrade. That's the cheapest I've seen it.

Ah, a PC thing (or at least a clicker & mouse thing). That explains it.

Thank you for clarifying. I hear people talk about framerates issues etc. (not exclusive to DA:I) and I can NEVER tell what they meant.

I wouldn't have IF BioWare & EA had a damn means of directly contacting them. That's the whole point.

Do you think I enjoyed posting such a thread? Granted you don't know me, but I will tell you, I didn't make the decision lightly. I prefer to lurk.

Secondly (bolded bit), we can agree to disagree.

Still not worth it in my opinion. I just can't justify repurchasing a game I already own. I could use it to buy some printer paper in case I have to print at my college. Well, that and this whole debacle not setting well with me.

However, thank you for informing us! Much appriciated.

Well, usually when people talk about framerate issues (and they happen on consoles) they mean stuff that is so noticeable it's like watching a slideshow :P

I agree. It has to be the game, because even with G-sync the cutscenes are choppy as hell, but the rest of the game is smooth.

Gotcha. I guess I've just never been bothered by them. My reflexes aren't the best, so maybe that's why. I dunno.

I'm pissed. If I knew this would happen you can bet your life I would never support Bioware with a pre-order.

I don't want something to "ease the transition", I want a refund. This is ridiculous and a giant **** you to everyone who supported Bioware by buying their game last-gen.

I still can't find out if 30 or 60 fps is better. All I know is that I can't get 60 on DA:I or The Witcher 3 (my fault for being a cheapskate)

I prefer 30fps as well, 60fps is just too nauseating for me, on a shooter maybe, but 3rd person rpg, unnecesary, what i was referring to with the cutscnece issues, are the bugs like textures and some times model  poping in, sound going off and on again, the Iron bull not being able to hold a pint properly, geometry cliping, all those technicalities that break inmersion so easily. from wat i've seen in videos on youtube some of these seem to be issues that plague all platforms (expect the sound, and model poping thing, those i've only seen on old gen), i'd wish they'd fix these, but meh not getting my hopes up, they clearly don't care, and a good part of next gen/pc gamers are unsimpathetic to the cause sooo....

I am pretty sure that there is also a fair percentage of PC players which are able to play the game at medium/high settings on a decent PC just because the game was "held back" by old consoles. So, before jumping here and saying "Thanks god, we finally got rid of you" ask to yourself if you will be able to play the game in the same way you have played it until now. And for us PC player "to upgrade" often means way more than $300-400. In my case I've been glad that changing my video card was enough.

Err.. dont exactly need way more than $300-400. An i3 processor coupled with a GTX 750Ti (about $150) is enough to match current gen consoles.
