I've looked through some guides and I can't seem to figure out the answers to my questions.

1) I played Dragon Age Origins on the Xbox. I associated my EA Origins account with the XBOX gamertag.

When signing into Dragon Age Keep, I only see the default selections for my hero for Origins.

It's been years since I've played Dragon Age Origins, and do not quite remember all of my choices, so getting my decisions imported somehow would be great.

The XBOX I had the save file on and the game disc has been since destroyed in a fire so I can neither import my game file to Dragon Age Keep or register the product code on the BioWare website (I do have a new copy on steam/origins, but those would not be associated with my old play throughs). The only indication of my game play is my XBOX gamertag.

Any Ideas?

2) I'm also starting out on Dragon Age 2. Can I use the Dragon Age Keep to get my decisions from Dragon Age Origins to be imported to 2?

Hi Kwanzaa Lord -

Unfortunately, the Keep doesn't directly read savegames from either DAO or DA2, so they need to be manually entered.  While the save would give you something to reference against (such as through the journal), you would still need to manually enter the choices.

Personally, I would select those choices you specifically can recall making (unless you wanted to start completely fresh) - from there you have a few choices.

  • accept the defaults (under the theory of "if I don't remember, it doesn't matter")
  • "lock" those choices and then use the randomize feature to get something unusual
  • go through the tiles as much as you wish and select the choices that sound the most interesting or lead to a state you like (e.g. "everyone is dead", "elves reign supreme", etc.)

I went with the last option myself, but different people have different preferences :)

For DA2, since the Keep didn't exist when it was made, there's also unfortunately no way to import a DAO save into DA2 via the Keep.  If you don't want to do a full playthrough of DAO to create a save to import with, you may be able to use one of the fan-made save game editors to recreate your playthrough quickly.

Thank you for the quick response.

You've answered all my questions and I'll probably use a save game editor to recreate my playthrough to play DA2.

There is a post somewhere in the forum by the moderators where several links are given to help recalling especially the sidequests. I used this one here because it was the most detailed and helpful for me:

Since there aren't many influences from DAO to DA2 you can also start by new I suppose.
