Hi
Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong place; wasn't quite sure which sub forum it fitted.

I'm a casual player of the multiplayer section of the game, and up until a couple of months ago it was working fine for me.  However, in the last 6 weeks or so, every time I try to play, I manage to get through a couple of zones and then the game just shuts down to desktop without warning. No error message or anything.

The internet connection is fine, it doesn't happen in the single player game either.  I'm not an extensive player (I've only promoted 2 characters!) even though I enjoy it I just don't get a lot of time - but it's really hard to be bothered to play when I probably won't see anything for the time I put in.

Is this a known issue and does anyone have a fix/workaround?

Thanks

M

Known issue, no fix as far as I know. Doesn't seem to be isolated to mp, I've had it in campaign too.

Sounds like a technical support issue specific to your machine. That link is here:

PC gaming has a lot of advantages, but I swear I don't miss it one single bit.

This one isn't unique to pc, though. Seen plenty of reports of ps4 players getting booted to the dashboard as well.

I've been playing MP flawlessly for the past few weeks 'til today where this exact thing started happening. No warning whatsoever, the game just completely shuts down straight to desktop. Spent most of the day yesterday playing MP with absolutely no issues and today I can't even make it past the halfway point of the second phase without getting dropped. I'm hoping this is just an issue tied with the Weekend event for me.

The price you pay for playing this game, sadly I don't think we will see much improvment in this area. Strictly MP issue for me, 500 hours of campaign and not one crash.

Oh good - good in that I'm glad it's not just me, but not that you guys are getting dumped out.
It has never, ever happened in SP for me, only ever MP.  My computer has more than good enough spec to run on highest settings so that's not the issue either.
I've scoured the link above but no joy!

try pushing ctl + alt +del and checking what else is running in the background,

if your running an ati gfx card you will probably find you have hundreds if not thousands of errors listed in event viewer, I found after switching off event logging (google I cant remember how) for the gfx card 90% of the problems went away, now whenever I have them I tend to find an errant task has been triggered in the background (normally my av program deciding to update)

i'm waiting till I can afford more ram and when I can i'm going to upgrade to 16gb like I had in my old pc (which never had half the problems) and that will proably go some way to fixing the memory leak triggered by backround updates  (it fills the entirety of the windows managed vram in 30 seconds then triggers an event message the game is using more than 300gb of vmem......which normally coincides with the game crashing to desk top .......

Dunno why it works as I've been able to play MP absolutely fine prior to the start of this Weekend Event, even during the last event, with mods for SP but removing them for the time being and repairing my game to the base/vanilla/unmodded patch has allowed me play through several games now uninterrupted. I can't say if this will work for the others running into this issue but hopefully it does.
