Question asked in the title.
-What is the problem in having Community Moderators?
As in, for example, X person on the forum is awarded a Moderator Position. Of course this person would be chosen by the mods themselves and such.
So, we keep community interaction to a maximum... I kinda miss moderators interacting with us, posting on threads (Not just saying end of line or handing bans) and so on.
What do you think?
If yes, who would you nominate( as in all the seriousness?)
I do wish we had more community moderators. We had a good number back in the day but some quit because of the pressure, some because they just didn't want to deal with it anymore, that sort of thing.
One case which was notable on the forum years ago was when a community mod lost the position for stickying a personal thread of his(taking advantage of the position).
Should there be more? Sure. I'd support that. I'm all for more community mods, as long as they understand how the forum works and what needs to actually be prevented versus whats acceptable.
That too. With community mods or really just any mods with a personality you get people trolling them or just being plain disrespectful to a personal degree. Its sad how far people go after being suspended.

Yeah... at least from how Stan put it way back when, it was once the old forums stopped and BSN commenced that the negativity/trolling/etc. sparked up to the absurd point that it did.That too. Would BioWare be dumb enough to let the inmates have the key to the asylum? I know in previous years they have but this is Nouveau-BSN, not the old BioBoards and stuff.
If we were though, Dermain and Fast Jimmy would make pretty good mods of the Lobby area if they wanted to do it.

Nah. I only had a run-in with a Bot 8 recently I believe. Who isn't as warning point or ban happy with his moderation.

I'd be on the ban hammer. I'd probably celebrate mod status by banning people.
In general, I don't think community mods are a great idea in practice here. Users having the power to ban other users. This would be a pretty empty place in about a minute.
I'm all for more community mods, as long as they understand how the forum works and what needs to actually be prevented versus whats acceptable.

Usually when I'm placed into a position of power bad things start happening. Such as a guild/server no longer being populated, which has absolutely nothing to do with me, and more to do that I'm usually placed into positions of power when there's absolutely no one else left.
