I don't care too much about score. What bothers me is the whining about kill stealing.

Because, let´s face it, the way score is calculated is fubar at times. It´s not rare for me to whittle a boss down to 1 bar by myself, just for a pug to ride in and kill it. And what do I get for my effort? Some 300 points as assist. Happened more than once to me and I´ll wager, not just to me. I am not upset about the guy stealing my kill, I´m upset about the score mechanic in general. Idk where I mentioned my score of 160k as an AIU, thanks to a Engie detting my SF. That Engie landed in 4th place. Fair? Absolutely not! Because only the one priming gets the "full" score, where as the detter only gets score based on the pure damage of his detting power. That´s also why I don´t give a sh*t about score, because it´s flawed at it´s very core. If I land in 4th place as a TSent, because I detted everything in sight, so be it!

I'll admit to checking out the scoreboard for different purposes. When I'm soloing I tend to use crappy weapons so I'll use my score to try to figure out how many more points until I complete a weapon challenge or see if I can possibly beat my last attempt against the same circumstances for personal satisfaction. When playing alongside fellow BSN members who I know are my betters, I will check as a gauge of my improvement as a player and for a self challenge to not get skunked by as much as the previous time. For a GIP drop I call it up to check the foe (sometimes I just don't want to fight a certain faction). If a player is being a jerk I will occasionally check the score to see if I can humble them while being a team player (rarely happens but it's nice when it does).

Or maybe actually reward people for doing objectives, or giving zero points for killing stuff in objective waves and extraction. How about giving negative points for those who are out of hacking area? Or if the team wont get full extraction it will be punished? Something to make people work more together... dunno Im drunk ..good nite
I agree with this. Maybe even a timer for those not in circle before they get struck down by the gods lol.
In general, this is an idea that should be fleshed out more, for sure. I will throw the counterpoint of the decoy out there on escorts/hacks. I played with a Juggie recently that peeled everything off the group. The 3 of us in the circle were bored. Not only did they hold the attention of the map, but also stayed alive. There is value in taking heat off of objectives.

Someone with the time may need to test this, but I'm fairly certain that the points displayed for the kill aren't always what you get. I dropped into a GIP once with a banshee on me with a bar of armor left. I killed it, apparently getting ~1800 points, but only noticed ~ 300 points for the kill while I was quitting the game.

It's too bad the dialogue from that movie works better out of context than in.

Ok. Never checked the board kill by assist. I judged only by what is displayed ingame.

I care about scoreboard insomuch that it shows how much I'm contributing to a match. I hate to see when I'm lagging behind, since no one likes a player they have to carry. And when I'm consistently top-scoring a certain difficulty with a kit, it means I can move up a difficulty which is always fun ![]()

I do actually like leading newbies/lower level players thru matches, but I have seen a /lot/ of people in the forums and in game who don't really appreciate it, so I just try not to p*** anyone off.

Yep not much left to do after maxing out manifest. Charity or platinum solos (which I can't do

That's wat I resorted to doing after I maxed my manifest. I just know how much it sucks having a long way to go with manifest and needing help. So apart from soloing, I spent a considerable amount of time helping pugs with creditsYep not much left to do after maxing out manifest. Charity or platinum solos (which I can't do

I hate feeling carried. If I'm not contributing, I'm going down a level (to whatever's below Bronze. Tin, I guess).

I don't mind carrying. I used to but feeling changed after unlocking that last UR card. As long as game isn't lagging too much I don't have much problem carrying. Few consumables I use I refill after the match and then buy those arsenal packs for lvl III and lvl IV consumables.

Stop saying you don't look at the scoreboard! Everyone looks at it when the match ends and the SCOREBOARD appears. Your e-peen is only growing!!!
Well, except for Peasetree players --------------------------> Waiting for other players.................

Why won't this conversation end?? We have been talking about this for almost 3 weeks now. You can either score or you can't, you either care about the score or you don't......Am I missing something? Also, as of right now..I can't score pretty much at all on the PS3..Katana Level 2 ya'll...

You've been talking about it for three weeks? That's an impressive feat for an account that is less than 2 hours old.

Yes. You're missing, "You either post or you don't." Or to put it another way, why does it makes sense for you to be participating in the conversation after 3 weeks, but not for anyone else? Don't feel the need to explain the answer, since I'm pretty sure I already know.

Yes, lots of people use ampersands on BSN. Most of those people know that three weeks equals 21 days, as opposed to 8 (I'll go ahead and guess that's a potential candidate for what you might be missing.)

Yea i get you. Same here. Especially whenever i got sync killed and had to watch pugs carry me. It's pretty entertaining watching pugs survive tho ![]()

Cain's
Also from a week ago.
lots of salt coming this direction
I certainly noticed that you were salty about it, but I have no idea why. It's just scoreboard talk. By this forum's standards, it is on the low end of drama scale. If you really want the conversation to end, you could always stop participating in it.
