Looking at the RPG list itself, I'm not sure if I can agree with Dark Souls at #1, seeing as it's much more of a console-oriented game; the PC port of the game is not well-regarded at all. I got it on PC during a Steam Sale and played for about five minutes. When it started telling me what buttons to push on my non-existent XBox controller, I decided that it wasn't worth it.

Finally! More people who understand that Fallout 1 > Fallout 2 and NV > 3 and that Mass Effect 2 is the best Mass Effect. With this in mind, I can overlook the list's flaws.

0/10 as an actual list, but 8/10 as a piece of clickbait, which is the real intent for these types of articles. I'm sure Dark Souls at the top will get quite a few pageviews. It's a smart choice. Controversial, while also mainstream enough to be considered a 'legitimate opinion' as opposed to 'trolling'.

My biggest complaint is TL2 is above D2. Should be the other way around IMO. Although Runic is a lot of ex-Blizzard North guys so I guess it's okay...

I'd actually consider Dark Souls to be rather mediocre, more of an expanded version of the original Demon's Souls and not much else. Most of it's success would likely fall into the population of Ex-Zelda fans who were looking for a darker and tougher experience - myself included.

Yep, playing with Keyboard & Mouse(or just keyboard) lacks the same experience, camera control in a game like that can make the difference between life and death.

As far as the rest of the list, it's...nice? I'm surprised Hand of Fate made it in; as much as I enjoyed the game, the combat could kill it for some gamers. The same could probably be said for Arcanum, mayhaps. Also, Arcanum should be on there.

Yes, there are procedurely generated bits of plot content, but the gameplay is entirely space sim (at least from my understanding). While a game that appears good (and one I had planned on picking up sometime), I wouldn't have ever considered it an RPG.

What does that even mean? Does a game have to exist for multiple years in order for it to be considered great? It isn't like voting an athlete or entertainer into a hall of fame. You know a classic game when you play it, and I'll be damned if anyone tells me that The Witcher III: Wild Hunt isn't a classic. I don't care how long it has been out.

Dark Souls and PoE in that list give a great touch of ridicoulousness, although any game coming before PoE is surely more worthy - in a tragicomic sense of irony.

I'm also surprised they didn't list Mass Effect 3, which has as much rpg content as Dark Souls, along with a lot of cinematics and action.
