Its been a long time since I've played this game and even then, I only played with the bots. I'm considering getting it on steam but I would prefer to play with real players (feels lonely with bots).
I can't remember the game mode but its like basket-ball. That was fun and so was assault.
But Unreal Tournament was just incredibly violent, more darker than 2003/4.
I don't know if there are any servers that run Onslaught, but there might, MIGHT be some servers floating around there. You'd be hard pressed to find any though I would imagine. And they're probably modded to hell and back too.

I get on from time to time. I must say UT is one of the best shooters out there and is one of the ones that require the most skill to master. I've been destroyed every time I've gotten on though. Still super far better than many shooters today.
I recall there being servers with onslaught last time I was on, and others. You are bound to find a game still, but several servers are modded. Still was able to play on an unmodded one though.
But if you can't find players... bots on godlike do the trick. You. Will. Die. A lot.
You played on bombing run, if I recall correctly.

And not many are playing UT04.
You should give a game called Toxikk a go. It's a great skill based arena fps, in the veins of Quake 3 and UT.
