I don't really care, but I'm quite serious in that if there are personal quarters and I can choose the music, I'll be disappointed if Ghost Riders in the Sky isn't an option. Seriously.

Bioware should make the radio be able to play custom tracks that we can supply ourselves so we can get whatever we please.
My Shepard/Protagonist is Gangsta so i need my A$AP Mob playing in the captains cabin like frfr....
My problem was one song IIRC "ME 1 exploration/Virmire" music. Boing, boing, boing stuff. It sounds like we were riding a convertible Corvette in Summer of 82' instead of travelling to catch Saren on a planet unknown.
I'm a fan of electronic music and 80's aswell but a few songs including that one was laughable while there weren't any problematic songs from orchestral stuff. That's what i meant, being afraid of what can come and all that
Okay. How about the opening scene we're stranded in a town in a desert on a planet in ass end of nowhere.... and we get some opening music....
Spoiler
Oh sorry... too much like Borderlands.
And I'd like Ghost Riders In The Sky.
I hope that planets and places have choices of radio stations we can tune into. GTA Vice City did this really great, and they had one where you could upload mp3s and tune into that station while you were cruising around. If exploration is the name of the game here, why not?
I think the soundtracks is something they did extremely well throughout the trilogy. The music was one of the few things Bioware maintained at a top notch level throughout. Consistanly good. Some ME:A's score should be good. Im not too concerned compared to other aspects of the game.
Now personally i'd like Sam Hulick, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco & Christopher Lennertz(even though his music could slightly veer into the meh/by the numbers catagory at times) to all return. For Mass Effect has a dinstinct, iconic musical sound/style, imo you can't really dievate from that too much. Which for such a long runnning series you need that continuity, its important to the universe imo.
At the sametime i'd like to see new additions in the likes of Jon Hallur Haraldsson especially(the Eve Online composer, amongst other things)work on the ME:A soundtrack. I think his kinda sound/incredibly atmospheric musical style in particular woud really suit the ME universe, it has that perfect sci-fi/space vibe. He'd be a great addition to the Mass Effect soundscape imo. As would Michael McCann(i loved his Human Revolution score. It was so downbeat yet beautiful & a joy to listen too with its 80's inspired electronic futuristic feel).
Also recently i was listening to the Velocity 2x Soundtrack. Its kinda like Vangelis meets Kraftwerk. It was wonderful. I was thinking its composers James Marsden & Joris De Man(of Killzone fame) would also be great additions as like Jon Hallur Haraldsson & Michael McCann etc as they would add something a bit different yet would fit the universe perfectly. Futuristic & very sci-fi, synthy n melodic, very rich and atmospheric, somewhat melancholy & calming, not so orchestral... they'd enrich the musical escense & soundscape(esp JHH). All four are highly talented composers imo. They've all made make some truly wonderful video games scores, the kind that actually adds to the game and makes them better. It wouldn't do ME:A any harm to have them on board.

They probably wont use much music, maybe sometimes it kicks in for a few seconds. Most likely they will concentrate on the ambient sounds when exploring planets because it supposedly creates better atmosphere or something. They did this with Inquisition. (Was buggy often beside the party banter - still not working properly - but theyll figure it out this time i guess.)

Biowares knows how to handle it, I just hope they won't overdo with remixing from original trilogy. Sticking to the roots is cool and all, but some individuality wouldn't hurt.
Still I'd like something like this for Departure scene.
Something melodic, rather than something forgetable "cinematic" music.
AAA games of today have usualy very bad overall soundtracks, because of the non-melodic nature of the music. If I don't even notice the music, what is the point of having it there? Ambient music is sucha waste of space.
Let the music be a character of it's own, not just another skybox in the background I don't even notice. No more cinematic music, take notes from old games like the ORIGINAL Deus Ex. That music had the groove.
