Synth is awful. I want orchestral tracks.

Confirmed:  MEA soundtrack written and performed by VNV Nation.

Honestly, I'd like it to have more of a feel like from ME1's soundtrack. That was unique, it didn't sound like a lot of what I'd heard. ME2 and ME3's soundtracks kinda ended up becoming kind of same-y in terms of sound, I legitimately could not pick out a unique sound to them, aside from something we heard a lot, like TIM's Theme or New Worlds, or something used at a specific emotional moment, like Normandy Reborn or Suicide Mission or Leaving Earth. But ME1's soundtrack had a lot of variation to it. Vigil, Liara's World, Virmire Ride, Criminal Elements... All these tracks sounded unique and distinct. I want Andromeda's soundtrack to have that same uniqueness.

I'd like to have music similar to ME1-3. I think the music improved with each game.
Then there's Deus Ex: Human Revolution which had an absolutely stellar soundtrack. Still listening to it very often and it shows absolutely no sign of getting boring.
The integration of gameplay and music was also great in DX:HR as ambient, stress and combat layers were seamlessly mixed according to the state of the game, something that didn't work so well in the ME trilogy.

Pierre "Sebdoom" Sébastien is also great, as he captures and modernizes the original themes. Some of it rubs me the wrong way though, probably due to the lack of budget.

Michael macann's work was beyond greatness indeed.
Pierre "Sebdoom" Sébastien  has captured the feel of mass effect for me, especially in  "stronger by your side

While I enjoyed the OSTs of all three games, I agree that ME1's was the best and most iconic of the three.  I hope MEA's is most similar to that one.

While I think the music fits the theme of ME, I don't think it fits the trailer at all.

I would like to see a return to what Jack Wall and Sam Hulick composed for the first Mass Effect, as opposed to the third game's shift towards a bigger focus on orchestral.

Biowares knows how to handle it, I just hope they won't overdo with remixing from original trilogy. Sticking to the roots is cool and all, but some individuality wouldn't hurt.
Still I'd like something like this for Departure scene.

Bioware and sticking to roots are fortunately(?) not a match.

I'd like Sam Hulick and Jack Wall to reunite again personally. I'd like it more synth based too. Orchestral alone is so boring. A mix of the two would be fine.

We need more: 'burning 100 square yards of weed field' kind of music. Also known as dubstep.

I thought "the orchestral" music in ME trilogy were great. So they can keep in that style.

Never liked the wonky, poor adaptation of 80's synth based ones though. Sounded like i was playing a parody of ME.

Thumbs down for this one.

All you folks who say synth is awful and want more orchestral tracks instead are a bunch of shallow mortherf-ckers.

Orchestra music is overrated. From all 3 Mass Effect games, ME2 had by far the most dull and least inspired music. ME1 had the best soundtrack but ME3's soundtrack was pretty awesome as well. ME2's soundtrack? Meh, aside from the suicide mission I can't remember any song in that game particularly standing out.

I want more music like this in Mass Effect:

Oh and another more recent sci-fi movie that the composers of Mass Effect should take inspiration from:

Tbh I find orchestral awful on ME. I still prefer the ME1 feel for it. I love synth all the way.

I hope they get Hulick back for the game and give him the lead in creating the music for the game. The guy is an absolute genius.

Speaking of MEish music broadly I also love Systek work. Generally when I listen to him I want to play ME badly.

Hi everyone!

I often listen to this track in my car and see it in commander's private chambers or some longue in game. It is from a Serbian band called Darkwood Dub - Autoput (it means highway). Maybe it could be edited so it could go without the vocals (that are rare anyway) but here you go, the link:

That NO-ON mentions the most legendary song in gaming, from holy Mass Effect 2 itself:

My favorite songs from ME are:

Fatal Confrontation

Vigil

Normandy Attacked

Spectre Induction

Uncharted Worlds

The Illusive Man

M4 by Faunts

Das Malefitz by Faunts

Leaving Earth (after first, I've hated it, then it grew on me).

I want the same 1980s sci-fi type feel to the soundtrack.  It was awesome!

Keep doing what they did in the previous games, but bring jack wall back in some capacity if possible. Jeremy Soule is also a personal favorite there.

Hopefully the dreadful synth won't be the only option in the quaters this time. It would be nice if we could link it to our own music.

Additionally this needs to be in all ME games:

Jack Wall and Clint Mansell, and bring back Faunts too! And hopefully they can release a ME soundtrack (not for MP3 download, I want a physical disc like the ME1 soundtrack).

They could re-use themes from ME1 and ME2, especially the Afterlife music, I enjoyed listening to it for hours.

The music pieces used for the various clubs were about the only thing I liked about the Mass Effect soundtrack for some reason. Well, that and Vigil's Theme (for atmosphere, not by itself), and Uncharted Worlds... oh, and the catalyst's track (for real!). :D

I hate 80s music. The commander Shepard song was great though. I even bought it. As a PARODY the music was good...
