Reading this thread makes me realize how much I'm going to miss the ME trilogy soundtrack style.
I don't think they'll get away from it entirely. I don't see "Vigil" going anywhere for example. That's like Mass Effect's theme song.

I think the soundtrack will most likely be similar to previous soundtracks for the series...basically a mix of synth and epic orchestral stuff.
Johnny Cash was probably just used for marketing. Bioware very rarely uses tracks from the official soundtrack in their trailers.
Synth is awful. I want orchestral tracks.
I agree with you but it depends on the enviroment and what you are doing at the moment. For example, Bad Choices was an amazing song for that time in the Citadel DLC.
I expect a balanced soundtrack for all the different experiences, since i refuse to believe that we are going back to the "we need to do a mission after another mission and we'll never get the chance to blow some steam" like in the days of old
Guys, I think we can all agree that the best choice for music style in Mass Effect Andromeda would definitely be

Spoiler
My snipping is going to suffer because of all the headbanging
Would be cool if we could play our own songs at certain moments.
It's going to be great to drive the mako with this on the background:
The Ark needs a torchbearer of human culture to baffle and turn antagonistic species and to remind the residents of the Ark what they are, where they come from and what holds them together.
...
I know we must abide
each by the rules that bind us here:
the divers, and the sailors, and the women on the pier.
But how do you choose your form?
How do you choose your name? How do you choose your life?
How do you choose the time you must exhale,
and kick, and rise?

Together, right! Together to the airlocks ![]()
They should be playing Garbage, because that's what Andromeda is.
mmm hmmm
BSN knows your #1 Crush
See your face every place that I walk in
Hear your voice every time I am talking
You will believe in me
And I will never be ignored
Violate all The love that I'm missing
Throw away all the pain that I'm living
You will believe in me
And I can never be ignored
More inspirational music for Andromeda. I'd love to imagine this music while exploring an high-tech dungeon infested with hostile synth.
Something like this instead could be played when exploring a planet without atmosphere or semi-desolate
Syth music all the way
Systek would be good for something similar to Afterlife.
Hearing this at full volume in the shop (RL work). Good ol' days!...i think i'm gonna cry D:
Any ideas for end credit songs? This one's probably not gonna happen for a bunch of reasons, one of which is that it was already used as the ending song for Traffic (2001); still, I sure like it a lot.
Dating myself, but... I saw this suggested on the old ME forum (as in the one before the last BSN), probably for ME2, and even then I thought it was perfect. Thematically appropriate and in the same tradition as other end credit choices. But then, I'm a fan of the band to begin with...

You should fix that immediately.

On it! singing with heart and soul...and also poor technique!
Please bring back the synth sounds. Perfect example for synth sounds done right, the "It follows" OST.
This song could perfectly fit in a Mass Effect OST.
A great example from the Shepard trilogy.
This just screams "Mass Effect 4 in-battle music" (would work for "Deus Ex" as well):
