Yeah, I had a cat.  His name was Archie. Pretty chill orange tabby, real friendly, but dumb as a board.  Got him from animal control, for a discounted fee 'cause he was one of those 'nobody wants it, so we're gonna kill it' deals.  Best twenty bucks I ever spent!

 

He got hit by a car while I was eating dinner with my mom. Wife calls, and she's all like "[unintelligible] cat!" so I leave the restaurant, and speed home.  There's my cat, laid out on the porch, all limp. Wife's crazy emotional, "We gotta take him to the hospital!" she says.  He was obviously dead, eyeball all rolled up and stuff, tongue impaled by his canine tooth and sh*t. Poor guy. At least it was quick. Had to be, with that kind of head injury, like flipping a switch.

 

Anyways, the wife's flippin' out, and already has the car running, so I scoop up my little buddy.  Neighbor says "He'd dead, you know." And I give this b*tch a look like she just slapped my unborn child in the face before climbing in.  I know my cat's dead, you cow! Like I wanna carry him around town, all drippy and stuff. I'm doing it for the wife.

 

So we drive across town to the animal hospital. Now when I said drippy, I meant it.  I got some kinda fluid on both arms that was leaking out of my cat, smelled god awful. Whatever.  We walk inside the place with our obviously dead cat, and like a pro, the lady takes him in the back, and lays him on the table.  There's a window in the door, so we're watching the whole thing.  She stethoscoped my cat, and did all this stuff, even though she knew that we knew that she knew he was gone. It was sweet, really.  She came back out and apologized, before hooking us up with a little cardboard cat coffin.

 

Not that I used it.  I went to Lowe's and bought some wood to make my own cat coffin. It turned out pretty baller. Unfortunately, I took measurements from the cardboard box, which didn't translate well into wood.  It was kinda tight, so I had to really stuff my cat in there, 'cause he was pretty stiff by that point.

 

My wife insisted that we sleep with my smelly dead cat at the foot of our bed for the night, and I was like 'baby, he's smelly.'.  She wasn't having it.

 

I don't know exactly what happens when things die, but boy, does it stink after some hours... Ended up burying him at my grandpa's the next day.  It poured rain like at a movie funeral, so that was kinda cool. I miss that stupid bastard.

It's a creature that tricks little girls into basically selling their souls for a wish, not telling them that anyone who sells their souls is doomed to either die a horrible death or become creatures of endless despair that kill others. It collects their souls as energy when they do.

 

In the anime it's the cause of a *lot* of suffering and a great deal of death.
