She even dies if Shepard does talk to her on the Citadel, but doesn't tell her to change her identity.

Actually, iirc, Kaidan was originally supposed to be bi back in ME1, but the devs decided not to go that route because of the potential for it backfiring.  Considering how Fox reacted to ME1's sex scenes, they made the right choice.

 

On topic:  

 

Seriously, though, I'd really prefer it if she didn't return.  Main reason is that there are multiple instances where she can die in ME2 and ME3 (all of which have been mentioned already), though it also has to do with the fact that I just don't really like her.  I mean, I like how her morals are set up and how honest she is (for the most part), but something about her seriously rubs me the wrong way.  I only do the dinner-thing with her so that she can feed my fish (seriously, I'm busy trying to stop the Collectors and the Reapers, I don't have time to go back and feed my fish when the fate of the galaxy is at stake).

 

Anyway, it's highly, highly unlikely that she'll return in ME:A simply because there are so many instances where she can die.  Besides, I'd really like it for ME:A to start off as a separate thing from ME1-3 (a.k.a.: Shep's story), even if that means that all of the awesome squaddies from the first 3 games won't return.
