Until the Reapers showed up and harvested them.
No
Until the Reapers showed up and harvested them.
No
But anyway, the reason I said I wished they didn't do that because I, for one, would like to see a connection between the Reapers and the Remnant. The trilogy didn't fill that void within me just yet. I want a even more darker and gruesome story behind the arrival of the Leviathans and Reapers.
What do you mean? We already know that the catalyst created the reapers and I am guessing Leviathans evolved similarly to how life on earth evolved.
Do you think there was a 'plan' behind their creation?
No, I'm saying there is a reason behind the Leviathan's existence. Perhaps they are a part of the Remnant's culture.
Interesting. Although, I don't think the reapers were in Andromeda, it's pretty far away from the milky way and they supposedly didn't have anything more powerful than FTL drives. It would take them ages (literally) to move from galaxy to galaxy. My guess is that due to this limitations, the reapers only operated in the MW.
Also, not sure if BW would like to keep talking about the reapers in Andromeda. Most likely it will be all new, hell, it's a totally new galaxy.
The Remmants are probably the "spiritual succesors" so to speak, of what Protheans were in the MW, yet another super advanced race long ago extinct (or not?).

It would take the Reapers around 231 years to reach Andromeda. Easily doable for them since they don't have to discharge their drives or worry about things like food, water, and air. They could get there, harvest, and come back in less than a millennium.
Plus if the Reapers were there in the past, we wouldn't have to worry about getting squashed by some Leviathan-tier race and have Mass Relays around, which is always a good thing.
For once I hope the Remnants or the way they will be called are NOT related at all with the Reapers and all the consequent bs. We went to Andromeda to avoid dealing with the endings so I expect something new, exciting and fresh.
Couldn't agree more. Zero Reapers, Zero Leviathans in Andromeda, at any point, now and forever.
I'm beyond sick of them (or rather this idea).
I like the idea that the Remnant are the reason the Leviathans built the Reapers in the first place, and only after the Remnant crisis was over with did the Reapers return to the Milky Way to reap the Leviathans (where they stayed). Maybe the Remnant corrupted the Reapers' programming and sent them back to wipe out any potential foes.
I can't help but think that they are Prothean. Those tower things bursting out of the ground in the trailer just remind me too much of the beacon from ME1. It would kind of explain the name too.
What if the Remnant are ascended good guys like in Stargate?

I hope the Remnants do not have anything to do with the Reapers or Leviathans.
I want something new and more advanced than the Reapers.
From what I can tell, that's what it looks like they're trying to do with this game- self-contained and separate from the original trilogy. I would be fairly surprised if any of the races or storyline elements tied into the original trilogy's story in any significant way.

Disagree. At no point in ME3 did I get to use a redirected planetoid to alter the orbit of and boil 2181 Desponia's oceans away. The first 5 minutes of ME:A should be composed of doing exactly that before leaving for Andromeda.

I don't understand. Are you suggesting the Remnants created the Leviathans?

Unnecessary. My Reapers are taking care of that
I hope the Remnants won't be a repeat of the Protheans nor the Reapers. Hopefully, they're somewhat unique, and has their own dark secrets, that will not turn out to be that they were wiped out by ancient space gods fifty thousand years ago.
The Remnant have nothing to do with the Milky Way, the Reapers or any species native to the MW.
Maybe they were synthetic, maybe they were extremely advanced... we don't know. But we know they are something new, not Reaper leftovers.
I don't really see the point of spending a lot of time speculating about something that we know almost nothing about, and which won't have any impact on what it is when we do find out about it.

The first leak (supposedly of a fan panel at Pax) described two new species that seem to line up with both the Remnant and Khet that were mentioned in the later leak.
The first one sounds like the Khet to me, and the second the Remnant.
Ugh. Aside from their existence as a possible reason for migration to Andromeda, I don't even want to hear about Reapers in MEA, much less have them be related to the central plot.
"Reapers": let's dismiss that claim.

*snip*
Yes, I am aware of all that. Nothing in there suggest a connection to the Reapers. At most you could say that either the artists or the fan who leaked the info is not very creative and re-uses imagery from past games.
Well, I mentioned in another post that maybe one of those new races has something to do with the Protheans. It occurred to me because of the people claiming the structures in the trailer look protheanish. Say, one of those 2 new races are "remnants" (Remnants, see?) of the old Prothean empire.
Remember that the Empire was composed of many different species, called "prothean" too. Say that many manage to escape the war and the galaxy in one of those super secret projects that not even Javiik was aware of (remember that he knew nothing about the Crucible and only heard rumors about Ilos), and now the "Remnant" are actual remnants of the old Prothean Empire.
Just a little conspiracy theory I had.
I'm still thinking that BW probably wont give too much importance to things like reapers and whatnot in Andromeda since they've said countless times "I'ts a new adventure with completely new characters" , but hey.

If they do that, then I'll just feel sorry for them. Such a lack of creativity... I don't know. They'd deserve pity.
We saw a couple frames of glowing structures, why do they need to be prothean? Maybe other species like glowy tech, too? ^^

Evidently BioWare thought so, hence the creation of this board when we have literally nothing but that two-minute E3 trailer and a leaked survey to actually discuss. After all, we know how much they love speculation.
I am still tempted to make a thread titled "Shut the **** up!" and explain that we know nothing and that idle speculation will not result in anything positive, that generating hype will only lead to disappointment and that most posters here are too ****** stupid to even grasp that the things they are asking for are impossible, insane, sick or go directly against the few things we know already.
Probably would get me banned but it might be worth it...
