So transgender is already included? whats the point of this thread then, Dave?
Huh? How have transgender romances been included already? I seriously don't understand your question.
@daveliam: So you want it to be an important part of the story? You want part of ME:A to be about transgendered people? I do not.
I will happily welcome a gun-toting frontierswoman who was born a man and can fix an engine like nobodies business. And I mean it exactly as I'm writing it. Not making "being transgendered" (or anything else) the center stage point of the character. The important parts of that character to me are "gun-toting" and "fix an engine".
In fact - I'd love to never even know the character was trans. But - of course - that doesn't support the need for the representation to be up front and center.
What I'm not interested in welcoming is a person who's entire dialogue tree and quest-line is spend exploring transgendered life.
You might be making the assumption I think the "daddy issues" of every other character is fine - I don't.
I'm not saying that I need it to be a big part of the story at all. I'm saying that I'm fine with them include a well-written character who happens to be transgender. And if they talk about their gender identity, I'm fine with it provided that it's not the only thing that they talk about.
You seem to now understand the silly situation that you set up in your catch 22 scenario. The "point" of having a trans character is the same as the "point" of having any other character.
