And what about people from South America? Three games and 0 representation!
We southerns exist too!

Haven't seen any Finnish person in the games either. Not just in BW's but actually in any game. It might be nice to have one, but I understand why there really isn't any as well.

But you are talking about one country, I'm talking about a while continent.
They even have a multiplayer map here, but no characters.

@daveliam:  So you want it to be an important part of the story?  You want part of ME:A to be about transgendered people?  I do not.

I will happily welcome a gun-toting frontierswoman who was born a man and can fix an engine like nobodies business.  And I mean it exactly as I'm writing it.  Not making "being transgendered" (or anything else) the center stage point of the character.  The important parts of that character to me are "gun-toting" and "fix an engine".

In fact - I'd love to never even know the character was trans.  But - of course - that doesn't support the need for the representation to be up front and center.

What I'm not interested in welcoming is a person who's entire dialogue tree and quest-line is spend exploring transgendered life.

You might be making the assumption I think the "daddy issues" of every other character is fine - I don't.

That has kindof been the general consensus here.

Please do not shoehorn in any characters just because not doing so might offend a twitter warrior.

I'm sure Bioware has more pressing concerns.

I'm not sure. I mean we had Krem in DA:I and although I have nothing against "him" I don't think "he" was a particularily interesting character. "His" transgenderism was all that "he" had going for "him" and it made "him" a rather boring and typical token character.

If BioWare thinks they can add a trans character that isn't just a boring token trans character then by all means. But since the ME team can't even do gay characters right (Steve was also a boring token gay character) I doubt they'll do a much better job with trans characters (unless they hire some of the DA:I writers and even then I'm skeptical).

I feel like that wouldn't appeal to a large enough portion of the audience to be worth Bioware doing.

So transgender is already included? whats the point of this thread then, Dave?

Huh?  How have transgender romances been included already?  I seriously don't understand your question.

I'm not saying that I need it to be a big part of the story at all.  I'm saying that I'm fine with them include a well-written character who happens to be transgender.  And if they talk about their gender identity, I'm fine with it provided that it's not the only thing that they talk about.

You seem to now understand the silly situation that you set up in your catch 22 scenario.  The "point" of having a trans character is the same as the "point" of having any other character.

What on earth...could have possibly led you to the conclusion that was what he's saying?

Better not. I dont want "Equality: the game". I want good science fiction game. In fact I think BW should focus more on making good story and gameplay than creating not necessary wierd romances.

There is already a limited amount of romance options, made even more limited by alien species that just don't work, and the fan cryout to make everyone even.  And now to add another type of romance, with if they add one trans romance they're going to have to add a second for the opposite trans...or else.

If they do add a trans option, I'd rather they go all the way, not like Krem.
