As soon as you write the word "Tumblr" or "SJW" you've lost the argument and clearly admitted you have no real argument.

Video games have always been a place to comment on societal issues.  Do you mean "these particular societal issues"?  Because eliminating "societal issues" would eliminate a huge amount of many of the genres.

Exactly. Pop culture has always dealt with difficult topics and does help push an issue to fore and along. It isn't always the sole arena for an issue to get noticed but it is a valid one if not a major one.

No, you lose an argument when you don't have enough supporting evidence, rely on fallacies, and so on

Sure mentioning tumblr and "SJW"s can often go hand in hand with strawmanning, slippery slope fallacy, no true Scotsman, and a few others, they are not automatic disqualifications.

so people can say whatever the hell they want about trans people, but when someone actually post some knowledgeable information, it belongs on tumbr.

Fine, go back to your ignorance.

I do know and its because of an article that many people would probably not like if I found it again(if i even could lol). But I will leave it at that because I do not want to offend people.

People seem to get offended easily over the internet.

Says the guy who has written "Tumblr" at least once in this thread. Well at least you're aware of how silly it is but it still begs the question why that awareness hasn't stopped you?

Must. Not. Try. Something. From. This. Tumblr.

Seriously, though: Whipped cream slathered between two waffles? Mmmmmm.

Because sometimes its ok to use it, either for effect or because it is actually applicable

People can talk smack about tumblr all they want, but I personally love it. It's easy to use if you want to get your stuff out there, and is chock full of goofy shenanigans that can distract me for a while.

Tumblr's fun so long as you limit your poking around to art, fashion, food, and humor.

Yeah but the same is true of all social media. Facebook is saturated with cretins and idiots that can cause others caught within their radiation field to become stupid. That's just what happens when anyone has license to air their silly thoughts.

Right, they'd have to focus and expand on this transgender arc with an individual who ... doesn't actually feel the urge to transition to their preferred gender identity. That's a lot of pretzel-twisted character storytelling just to make this work, and we haven't even gotten to the process of how the PC learns this information.

I don't think they would even have to do much....but I'm only thinking of the "Crying Game" option.  Make the player think they are dating a "cis"(hate that word) person then spring it on them during the sex scene.  Give the player the option to react however they please, by either ending the relationship or choosing to continue it.  The end.

We don't need lengthy discussions or sermons about what's right or wrong et al.  The character's main story doesn't have to be about them being trans and not wanting to transition.  Make it about something totally unrelated to that.

Lol, what a horrible way to do that.

I don't know. Maybe I've just been too engrossed in Shadowrun and the cyberpunk genre lately to see the hypothetical advances in medical technology sweeping away major social issues. Or maybe that's just my cynical side shining through.

The MEU is decidedly not cyberpunk in its approach to genetic/biological advancement, though, and the landscape of social issues is constantly evolving alongside the growth of civilization.

I want a story, and I don't want it to be about modern, real life social issues that I see and hear about in one shape or form, daily.

It's true that it isn't a cyberpunk work, but it's also not a utopian work where all of our problems and issues have been solved by the advances of technology, either.

It's no more Star Trek than it is Shadowrun.

No, it's rather Star Wars than any of those.

That's a good Thing.
