Hey what about a alien widower? When we arrived in Andromeda we killed his/her mate and captured her, and as times goes on she/he devolop the alien kind of Stockholm Syndtome. What do you guys think?

Stockholm Syndrome for the romances is one of those things I want the BW writers to continue to avoid.  It's an interesting idea, and I'm not trying to flame you for it, but I think it's a terrible one.  Nothing personal.  :)

Do you guys realize that except for the pinned threads, that this is the fifth longest thread in this forum for the first 8 pages and it only spawned a couple days ago?

That happens when thread has heated up arguments without getting closed up by mods ^^

I'd normally approve of being able to take a "war bride", but an alien one? Gross.

If the BSN is passionate about anything, it's identity politics.

I think Mae is a lock for the next DA game. I'd be disappointed in her being a companion but that has nothing to do with her being trans.

Out of curiosity, why would you be disappointed? I want to know if we have the same reasons.

That "15%" is actually incorrect. The most recent studies say only 3,5% of the western population is non-heterosexual (and that is accounting for all bisexuals, gays and lesbians).

It may be more accurate to say 3.5% identify as such, at least according to this report, which goes on to say:

Estimates of those who report any lifetime same-sex sexual behavior and any same-sex sexual attraction are substantially higher than estimates of those who identify as LGB. An estimated 19 million Americans (8.2%) report that they have engaged in same-sex sexual behavior and nearly 25.6 million Americans (11%) acknowledge at least some same-sex sexual attraction.

I don't like having characters that were introduced in the extended universe playing a prominent role in the games. It tends to make the writers lazy, where they barely develop the characters. I don't want to buy anything but the game to learn about the characters IN the game.

You don't hate transgender but you want to throw them into the airlock for them to die.
Thats seems hate to me.

They weren't at some college parties.

True, and I don't want to have to help a mother kill her daughter again.

If I can express my true opinions about trans folk in the game, sure add a transsexual.

"you were born a man and you're still a man"
"you were born a woman and you're still a woman"

If I have those dialogue options I'm all for transsexual characters in the game.

does it? krem was alright because he wasn't a companion and he was awesome at times no doubt the chargers choice was tough for krem alone

but I wouldn't take a companion seriously especially if bioware go the route of the typical transgender, in the way they speak and how the world always revolves around them, hence the airlock remark, a krem one I wouldn't mind much but only if its fleshed out and they have proven military expertise, not just shafted in for the hell of it

And that was when Artifice found she had run out of likes.

If we could step away from parent/child drama in this game, I would be pleased. I haven't disliked all of those stories, by any means, but it has gotten a little overdone.

They probably ought to start doing those surveys at college parties. The results may be... different.

We started talking about beer.  I finally came out of lurk mode, and offered my two credits.  That's about it at the moment.

I think everyone has some issues with their families up to a point.  It's just...well...if I'm going to romance a character that's in their 30s, perhaps focusing less on family and parental issues would be a good idea.  I don't mind my character being emotional support, but most romances even in DA:I have some element of the Therapist Hero in them.
