Don't know why people keep saying what i have pointed out in this reply, is explainaed nywhere ... it is sure as hell not in the manual.
I need a specific instance going from when the tactics menu is opened, to the choosing of a character you want to set things to, to the setting of something up, to what drop down boxes are being selected, what menus are being used, after it's all set up, then showing the exact procedure of how what was just set up on that character was executed.
When that gets explained then and only then will a major part of the tactics menu be mainly explained.

have you ever used a computer before assuming you are using a PC not an Xbox?
You're claim not to understand what someone means by box suggests there is no way any thing can be explained in simple enough terms for you to understand.
Also your claim that the perfectly simple example was not an example was hard for anyone to take seriously.
I have to conclude one of these options is true;
1 - You are under 10 so should not be playing an 18 rated game.
2 - You lack basic computer literacy.
3 - You have some form of learning difficulty if this is the case we will continue trying to help.
4 – You are a comedy Troll (most likely at this point).
Which is it because if it's 2 or 3 I'll carry on trying to help you if it's 1 you shouldn't have Dragon Age and if it's 4 I want to bait you some more.

you might have gotten your answers by now instead of ridicule
I could probably understand your rage if there some technical issues with the game, but not being able to figure out how to use a game feature?
man get a grip...

I don't think even the official guide could help you.

What nonoe of you understand is there is nothing explained anywhere and it's not common sense about how to take whats in the tactics menu once it's opened, and not only applying it to a specific character, but also how to know what character you are applying it to, and above all, how you go about executing what you set on that character.
I told you the answer in a previous post, top left of the tactics screen below where it says "Tactics" you will see a characters name with two gold arrows either side, this is the character any tactics shown on screen or setup apply to. Use the arrow to more between characters in your party.
Note: until you have more than one character in your party there is no point to setting up tactics as you have only one character to control so will always be in charge of them.

everyone who didn't bother trying to help can go screw.
YOu treat me rudely, insult me, call me troll when i'm having legit problems, then have the balls to tell me I should be polite..
what a bunch of winners.
most of you replying don't be rude have no concept of how I have been treated.
I have every right to talk like this and if people wanted me to be polite maybe people should have thought about that before trolling my topic with BS instead of helping me.

WHAT THE HELL DOES use the arrows tp move between party members.
There are no arrows
You keep saying extremely cryptic things that mean nothing

This is just amusement to the nerd degree...I'm going now to play the game. BTW I'm going to set all my tactics to STUPID in case he's still here in the morning so I can at least empathise with him on round 3 of As The TROLL Returns.. night night all.............

The top tactics slots are executed in preference to the lower slots; if the character cannot perform the higher slot's action, the character will execute the lower slots. If the top slot's condition is not removed (i.e. Alistair drinks the poultice, but is immediately hit and his hp drops below 25% again, or the poultice doesn't bring it up to 25%), the character performs the top slot's action again.

No. The tactics system is an efficient way to set up performance scripts for party member you don't want to micromanage. And it is easy to use.
Yeah but how, all I keep hearing and reading is what you just said.......and it's a lie there is no way to do any of that Not one pperson on this entire site has given any proof at all that this is even a usable menu.
All i see is an ingame list of what is there....thats it....I see no instructions on how to get the infromation on that list applied to any party member and the execution of it.
Every single person in here has epily failed to explain that.

what a bunch of winners.
I'll try and help here. Open up the character screen. There's a picture of your character on the left hand side of the window. At the top of this picture is the character's name. There are two arrows next to the name, using these will move you to another character's screen. Select the character whose tactics you would like to set up, then go to the tactics window using the button at the top of the window. How to set up tactics has been thoroughly explained here, so you should have no problems with that now. Once you've set the desired tactics for the character you had selected, just exit the screen. That's it, the tactics are now set up for a character, and they will use them in battle whenever you are not directly controlling them.
I'm in Europe. I don't even have the game and i know this. It isn't that difficult if you just take your time, read carefully through the numerous instructions people have given you and stop shouting at people.

That's fine just don't expect anyone to try and help in response, people have tried to help you since you started being a little less rude but you seem unable to understand even the very simplest explaination so there is little more anyone could do even if they where inclined to help.

tacticsSystem = totally cryptic, impossible to use, has no point, and no way to know who your applying things to, how to apply things to them, and how to execute what you applied to them?
But is seems it's only cryptic and hard to use for you, everyone else is having more trouble understanding why you can't figure it out.
The arrows are Gold triangles pointing outward at either edge of the Character name bar by the way, (I know what's a character name, how are you supposed to understand all these technical terms I keep throwing at you).

Or you're just an idiot...Either the majority of people on here are incredibly intelligant, which i doubt, and can understand a cryptic system (ever done the times cryptic crossword, boy they're hard), and use it. Or ,and i like watching myself type it so i'll do it again, you're an idiot.
The help you have had so far has been great considering you seem to be playing a different game to everyone else. Are you sure you weren't looking for the Hello Kitty Online Social Site?
