Evidence for this being quite a good troll.
Use of grammar is not bad, but spelling is way off despite spell checker being available.
They have managed to set up a bioware profile with a picture, which requires basic computer literacy.
They are called Beyondconfused.

Odd what floats peoples boats on the interbob.

That's a good point. We need some fire/acid arrows to put this one down for good.

Learnign a cool game is part of the fun. You just want to be an expert your first day of playing it. I'm sure after 1 month you will know how to use everything.
If you don't leave first whining like a little girl

Back in the day before the internet became ubiquitous, all this raging would have been quietly contained to this posters own living room. Now his rage has been amplified and we have to be subject to it, all across the world.

This idiot was complaining earlier he had to log in to download his DLC...

When he realized how stupid that troll was he switched to his anti-tactics troll.

I honestly don't use tactics much i pause target every second. I like the idea of totally disabling tactics then putting in the few i want. Thanks for that help!

beyondconfused,

1. You can play without using the tactics menu at all. Its purely optional. Ignore it if it makes you so retarded angry.

2. The strategy guide does explain how to use it. The booklet does only brush up on it. The in-game codex system breaks down how it works.

3. No one can give you step-by step instructions. You taylor it to your play style. The tactics page is for setting up "AI" for teamates. It decides what they will do and when.

Example: if you set >50 Health then pick the healing skill, that person will heal at around 50% if they can. You can go further, you can define the target of the spell. You can do this for skills as well. Its essentially a series of If/Then statements, a very basic version of programming.

4. Its purely optional, and its not designed for everyone to use. I personally found it pretty easy to use, however the default ones it gives for the AI work well, so you should never have to touch it.

5. Return your game if you want. Your loss. The success of this game is not going to tank because you returned your one copy.

You probably should go back to playing counter-strike. Just some friendly advice. :)

If you are having difficulties, holla at ya momma. I'm sure she wouldn't mind stopping whatever she's doing and taking the trip downstairs to your windowless basement which probably has World of Warcraft wallpaper.

I can understand the complaint that something like this should be explained in the manual, but without actually having played the game, I also cannot imagine that it's really hard to figure out.

Wow, just wow. To maybe try to help this so he doesn't keep going on and on. here's brief explanation of the tactics menu.

The tactics menu governs the basic AI of your companions that you are not directly influencing the actions of. So you can control one guy, while the other party members still use skills and healing as necessary on their own accord.

You can set these AI scripts or "tactics" in the tactics menu. In there, they give you some nice pre-made ones for you to begin with like "Defender". You would use the "Defender" tactic profile for somebody you want to...defend for your party. Pretty simple stuff. From there, if you choose, you can take it to the next level and create a custom "Tactic" profile. In these you choose certain battle conditions, and select a skill to accompany those battle conditions. So say a monster's hit points is 25% of his total health, you can select a skill you're pretty certain will finish most monsters off. Same for healing your own members, you select the party health range you want the skill to kick in at, and the healing ability to go with it.

That's it, you don't have to press anything in game. It will do it automatically for the characters you are not controlling. If you found the tactics system in this game difficult, I suggest you don't try your hand at Final Fantasy XII's gambit system. As it's this, but twenty times more indepth.
