Michael Stevens has made a pretty successful career as an internet personality by explaining scientific concepts on his show, Vsauce, in an easy to understand, accessible manner. He's charming, funny, relatable, and his channel has over nine million subscribers. His videos have included appearances from celebrities such as Felicia Day, Bill Nye, and Chris Pratt.
This is the guy I want explaining Bioware's technobabble to me in Andromeda.

Also a good choice.
In ME we don't need a science officer, because very little of the lore is written with any regard to science. (as opposed to other Sci-Fi examples)
But who knows, maybe this will change in Andromeda.
