Oh. I thought you... Or someone... Was saying black characters were not canon before DAI or something. Also, I didn't keep a tally either. In fact, I cheated. Those pics? Posted them before when a topic about race came up and someone made the argument I THOUGHT was being used here too about how black characters were not canon and existed solely for SJW pandering, and I posted those pics to counter it. I simply went and grabbed that post again and reposted them.

Your pics don't have characters looking black. They look tannish-swarthy..ie not black. The only logical conclusion is that Ferelden accepted large swaths of immigrants from Rivian.

Wrong. In fact, the one that was disproving was saying the same stupid thing, that they all look Rivain. No they don't. They look black. Just because they don't look black enough to look like they're from some lost African tribe where the women and men don't even wear shirts doesn't mean they don't count, lots of "black" people are very much brown.

Oh, but they're all in the background. I see. I never kept a running tally of ethnicities among NPCs, but I guess someone did. :rolls eyes:

Just to clear up any musunderstanding, I was aiming this joke at Dutch. I know that there were always dark-skinned folks in Ferelden - just not in the "swaths" DG claims.

Here's the truth of it: the old engine did not handle POCs well, which is why their numbers were very small in past games. But Frostbite has no such problems.

Now that that is hopefully cleared up, let this thread go back to talking about dwarves.

No kidding. The 3 darkest skin tones in DAO looked... Purple. Actually, freaking, purple. Ugh! You basically had to not be any darker than Zevran or you'd be stuck with a skin color that looks ridiculous.

On an on-topic note, I just found a black dwarf. He was in Skyhold, just hanging out. Had white hair too. Black young dwarf with ghost white hair. What kind of genetic freak was that poor guy?

and how the Witcher was better for keeping the cast as white as mayonnaise.

Anyway,in a fantasy land like Thedas with mages, elves, dragon gods ,witches and werewolves,i like to think that migrations of populations (especially,Humans and Dalish) is not something so spectacular

Blackness is caused by eating fresh onions when pregnant. Apparently, Ferelden women just loves onions.

Morrigan and Flemeth doesn't like onions, just no.

maybe Elanor Cousland,my warden's mother?

There's a lot more humans and elves, and for Dwarves it completely excludes all of them who live underground. They aren't going to the surface to help the Inquisition. That leaves surfacers, the Ambassadoria in Tevinter, and the carta. We know Bianca is an incredible smith. The Ambassadoria is more likely to help the Venatori than the Inquisition, though they would probably help neither, and the carta would be willing to supply both sides of the conflict and wouldn't want to overly support one side over the other. On the whole there aren't a lot of surfacers to choose from. There's not a lot of dwarves in Denerim, Kirkwall, Amaranthine, or Val Royeaux.

They don't look black because they don't have the typical black cranial and facial features. Do you consider Arabs or Indians black? Because those pics you gave us looked like at best the DA equivalent of said people mentioned.

I would say all gaming forums and sites in general are pretty awful. This actually one of the more nicer ones.

Yeah, um... I was joking. You can tell by the exaggerated sentences (and the gif).
