The future of Inquisition

I finished the game twice and i decided to make a list of ideas and things i would like to see implemented into the game via dlc/expansions and or patches.
If you have some good ideas or things that you feel are missing in the game, share them.
I don't know if Bioware is reading the feedback, suggestions here but i hope they do.
So let's begin!
-A expension that focuses more on the story.Yes i know Bioware has something in the making but i'am still skeptical to what it will be.So more story, better story content aswell as more companion related storylines.
-End game content! Yes i use that word.Do we need some kind of end game content...i think yes we do.Not everybody wants to play the game six times and do the same quests over and over again.People want to use that nice gear they have in some challenging fights.
Since dragons do not respawn we have no real challenge or end game content wich is a shame for all the work we put into our gear.Give us a high level dungeon with respawning mobs, bosses and gear chests.
-Better quest rewards from quests in general. It doesn't have to be purple gear but most sidequests have no real reward other than a few xp and some power points or it's usually not worth bothering.Same goes for the collectables and fetchquests.I have no motivation to complete them right now.
-A new specialization for each class would be nice.
-Give the Inquisition something to do and a meaning.Right now it only serves as story background and nothing more.Planting flags ,setting up camps and wartable missions etc. All that is fine but it doesn't feel like i'am the leader of a powerful organisation.Right now it has no impact on the Inquisition or on the story and it's characters. The next dlc is chance to do something about it.
-Quests or wartable missions that make use of the power points besides unlocking new areas for story progression.Maybe a shop with special items bought with power points.Right now our power points just sit there and acumulate without any purpose for them.
-Potions, upgrading them and herb collecting feels disposable to me.A shame we still don't have a good alchemy system.Bioware decided to drop, get rid of healing spells in Inquisition. That would have been the perfect time to add a alchemy system as replacement.Alchemy in rpgs can be a entertaining aswell as a rewarding activity if done right.I never felt the need to upgrade my potions and the three slot limit doesn't help it either.I gather all those herbs but only use it for the occasional health potions refill. But i think it was done for the casual players to simplify the gameplay even more.I'am pretty sure casual players could handle some potion brewing!
-More long, braided hairstyles for female chars and a colour wheel for the hair.
-Tinting option for weapons.Armor became tintable at some point but they didn't include weapons, why?
-More variations of armor. No more coats please!
-Option to wear normal armor in Skyhold
-Fix the hitboxes. Some mobs have terrible hitboxes if you play as a melee class.
-And of course bug fixing in general!
I will update my post as soon as i have new ideas.
Feel free to add, share your ideas.
Thanks for reading

Even though I personally won't be seeing any future DLCs.
If I were, I'd like to see anything!
(Especially a confrontation/conclusion to a certain companion's disappearance)
As long as the freaking protagonist gets a proper ending. None of that "AFK" crap like with the Warden and Hawke (fortunately his ending can be gruesomely concluded, but you know what I mean).
Also, I have a sneaking suspicion the Inquisitor will get stuck/locked inside a rift in the "finale". I don't want some cliche like that, but someone with THAT much power running around Thedas? I just can't imagine.

Thats true, there are alot of story points that they need to wrap up in the next dlc.Mister knifear especially.
It is a shame that the story ended with a major cliffhanger...
Do you own the last gen version of the game or are you just not interested in buying the next dlc?

I own a last gen copy, tis why I won't be seeing any of the future DLCs.
Perhaps you've seen my griping in several threads here? ![]()
Ugh, that cliffhanger though. Gah! And then JoH came out and it had NOTHING to do with the ending. Blerg. Still it was fun.
(Way to keep me at the edge of my seat BioWare)
Hrm, I really don't have any ideas. I'm not enough of a lore nut to draw any ideas up from. I'd like something that revovled around Skyhold maybe, could add some more companion interaction along with it. Er, but Skyhold seemed to be a mystery of itself. Like WTF was that random arrow lodged in the roof tops with the note? Was it something Sera vandalized? I dunno. And Morrigan spoke about the fortress like it was a haunted house or something rather. I think it be kind of neat.
Maybe like a scavenger/riddle quest/hunt around Skyhold to "unlock it's history/mysteries" kind of nonesense, and you interact with your companions to piece the mystery together. And maybe if you missed a companion, or rejected them that affects the overall quests, maybe having done their personal quest can also affect the outcome. I have no idea where it would go, maybe a journey into the Crossroads etc.
... sorry I'm rambling, but something like that.
Not exactly a good game finale.

Ah i see the problem and it is a shame Bioware, EA decided to go that route with future dlc.But i think it was a pure buisness decision to release the base game on last gen since the current gen didn't have a very big installment base like the older gen consoles. It was logical to bring to ps3,360 to make enough profit. The new consoles are well ,still new.At lest they made a save game importer but it is still a bad decision to drop support for the older gen.
Yeah that would be worth something. Also i think one of the npc meantioned that Skyhold was build by the tevinter if i'am not mistaken. So there is some room for content and story around Skyhold alone and the inclusion of your companions would be a big bonus story wise.
I just hope they deliver some meat with the next dlc.Hakkon was okay for the exploration value and novelty but it had no weight in terms of story or interexting questlines.

I agree. I just find it irresponsible and unprofessional of them to have done something like that. If their willing to miff off their fanbase (a portion of it) why should I bother buying their products? They don't respect me as a customer.
It's a short term "gotta have it NOW" profit for them. Damaging one's reputation is not exactly a smart thing to do in the long run, as opposed to say CD Projekt RED who's making quite the name for myselves for being a generous and customer friendly company, as a result they have a rabid loyal fanbase.
The save importer is nice and all, but it does those of us unable to buy a console or copy ABSOLUTELY no good. Sure we might buy a new/used console in the far distant future, but some of us cannot justify repurchasing a game and ESPECIALLY because we were basically cut loose for "no real reason".
Anyways, this isn't a thread (I take it) for bickering. What's done is done. I can at least take what pleasure I can from situation and discuss a favorite game of mine.
Skyhold's apparently been built/destroyed/rebuilt etc. By so many visitors. Wasn't it the elves, Tevinter and some other group or rather? Just the way Morrigan spoke of it, it just sounded so... alluring, plus odd things are said to occur at Skyhold (and I'm not talking about Cole) I believe. Their is also the whole blip about a certain elf leading you to Skyhold itself. Of course he's like your 1st Officer Spock in all this, but aside from his mystical knowings etc.
I'm a sucker for companions in Dragon Age (and even ME), no other game quite compares, so anything with more interaction would them would tickle me pink.
I'm in agreement with you about Hakkon. I wish they had gone more in-depth with the Avaar we finally get to meet. Like more quests revovling around their culture. We got the jist of it, but they seemed so... disconected. If you know what I mean. It's like they were just there, we didn't really interact with them much. I don't, I think they could have intergrated them more in-depth. Maybe have done a little more something with JoH side story-wise?

I feel the same way about companions and their story, quests.I had more fun spending my time with companions and related quests than with the main story.Especially with dorian, bull and viv. Some say viv is broing and plain but she is just a totally different kind of character. She seems a little out of place but her banter can be funny too.
The avvar have some potentional but like you said it is not explored in the dlc or not much at least.
Another thing is the spoils of the avvar dlc.Kinda shady what they pulled with the pack. The armor models are already in the hakkon dlc.Npc are wearing them etc.But what did they do?!...They went and made it a seperate 5 euro, dollar dlc..really shady but also funny. It's like watching a burglar geting caught becouse of a stupid decision when he tried to climb up the balcony.

No thanks, i play destiny for that, and altougth i find fun in destiny, the formula of reseting dungeons could be very weary

Well the nature of dlc is that it is optional. So i don't see any problem with it.Let me wrap this up.You play destiny for resetting dungeons but you find the idea to be/could be, become very weary...ahm alright.
Well if you have a good, better idea for end game content maybe you can share it.But almost every rpg has some sort of end game content...In DAI it is the dragons...or it is suppose to be.I might add that i don't see destiny as a rpg in a classical sense more like a shooter with skill trees.
Cheers

I'll happily pay for any DLC content that enriches the story.
No matter what gets added, nothing (not loot, not armor, not weapons, not exp, cool thrones, mounts, etc.) matters to me more than the story. I want more party and LI interaction. Give me that, and take my money.
I can kill things in any game and my character can look BA doing it. That isn't unique to me. The story, and the unique way you can interact with your companions, especially as a female protagonist, is why I play Bioware games. Everything else for me is just icing on the cake.

Truer words never spoken.
Oh, I don't expect a game to be perfect. I don't really care for the Witcher franchise, but I do like the way the company is handling their customers. There is something to be said when you've a massed an army of rabid fans (and generally keep them). You must be doing something right. ![]()
Oh totally! I feel like such a social pariah with this game in a "all my friends are just pixals!" Kind of way, but it really does draw you into the story. The colorful characters you pick up along your journey.
I swear if I were to met Dorian in real life I think I'd punch him. He's so snarky, but man I adored his humor the whole way through in the game as well. Never felt so torn between agitation and amusement towards a character. Sera even grew on me later on- and I hated her, the cookie conversation finally redeemed her (for me). I loved Bull and Cole together in my party, although Cole and anyone seems to work as well.
I actually think BioWare kind of missed the mark with Viv. I think she could have had some serious in-depth story potential (not just her personal quest but main story related) due to her position and the general location of where all the game ventured into. I think she's one of those characters with a ton of potential to be integral. I'm sad they didn't fully utilize her. Although, I think some (if not all) could have had/played more of a role various points within the story.
Actually, I sort of feel most of the companions in DA:I were a little disconnected, but I think that had to do more with the "type" of character the Inquisitor was. It always felt... so alone, in a sense. I mean you could talk, interact and help out your buds, but I don't think it showcased much bonding going on. I liked the scene
Bahah! Reminds me of the flak that whole ES: Oblivion Horse Armor debacle recieved, oh man did Bethesda get razzed for that. I'm glad, because they haven't tried something as cheap as that since. I hope BioWare will cut the crap, you know limit themselves to one screw-up per release. ![]()
Pretty low of them to do that, isn't there a Qunari verison DLC? I assume it's for some of our Qunari-whatever-you-want-to-call-them Inquisitors? Or at least available to them as well. I would think that would enrage a few, I mean Vashoth Inquisitors have so little in gear that they can wear anyways, no?

I agree and disagree...to me both parts make the game a whole.Only cutscenes and story...i could watch a movie or read a book. But if you have both good combat and lots of great story, interactions that would be best.I'll happily pay for any DLC content that enriches the story.
No matter what gets added, nothing (not loot, not armor, not weapons, not exp, cool thrones, mounts, etc.) matters to me more than the story. I want more party and LI interaction. Give me that, and take my money.

As for the LI, romances...for me it has been nothing more than a nice diversion. If the romance was integrated into the plot and or if it would affect the outcome of certain events. That would take it to a new level and make it more interesting for me.I don't want some kind of romance simulation though.

It be nice... but i wounder sadly do they even read these? Id be all for new DLC packs but after paying 70$ and then having to pay 14.99 for every dlc is a bit much..

MAKER NO! Powerful organisations come and go and not always do they need an unfortunate end. Mother Giselle's comment: "When they are no longer needed, they'll put their swords away." is clarifying enough. Organisations rise and fall depending on the world's dependency on it. When another problem arises elsewhere, the once forces of the Inquisition may disband to join the other cause elsewhere.
Of course Bioware could always give this expansion a multi-ending choice, if you're the sadist/masochist type!
