I'm amused that you have "little Timmys" in Finland.

They are hardly amusing when they inability to do anything right causes you and 9 other guys do extra chores and run more than anyone else, unless someone else makes his bed and checks his uniform. But we have all kinds of folk, we even had a chinese fellow in there, I have no idea how he got in though. :P

I get you... I just meant the name "Timmy" itself. :P

Without actually being there, guessing as to whether her methods did or did not cross the line seems pointless to me.

Pretty much, but if we can't talk out our asses on the internet what are we here for?

The cult of political correctness at work. Female officer is sexist and awful for holding her recruits to high standards. (which some are certainly capable of achieving but apparently they shouldn't have to because they are women and holding them to the same standards is sexist)

I'm pretty sure everyone else can't run 3 miles at 7:40 pace or do 3 pull ups. Have you seen America recently? I'm not saying it's abuse, by any means. Soldiers in training should be physically fit. But you've vastly overestimated the general populace's capabilities. Especially on the pull ups. Women have a lower center of gravity; I only know of a handful who can do an unaided pull up.

It's not unreasonable to work your way to 3 pull ups. I just did 5 consecutive ones on Saturday. Just gotta work at it.

That's an oxymoron. You can't possibly shitpost Blackadder because Blackadder simply isn't ****.

lolabuse. More like pushing their limit thus making them even more able bodied. Know what the drill sergeants used to tell us? "Suck it up, private! It builds character."

In my training I started off at running 2 miles in 24 minutes, towards the end it was 2 miles in 19.something minutes. You'll be amazed at what your body can do once you get the "I can't" out of your head. Personally I would have loved to have a commander that pushed us like that. No pain, no f*cking gain tbh.

If you can't handle extreme physical, mental and emotional discomfort, then the military isn't for you. Hell BCT is what helps you get out of your comfort zone so that you'll be somewhat prepared for the real deal.

Discharging her is over the top imo. Those other people need to stop whining.

This is wanting the Uniform and Glammour.

lookat that Girl and shw is a Girl not a Woman who took the NYFD to court because she failed her physical so she forced them to lower the standards. standards that many female firefighters pass. and she faled the physical misserably. buy she passed her written test.

Sure she ruined the credability for a lot of other women (something another woman said btw.)

I'm sure that violates the Geneva conventions.

It's the kind of whining that you hear about in FInland every year. Many of the guys who end up in the service haven't made their beds, washed their clothes or even tied their shoelaces without their mommy's help before going in. Then when someone looks at them bit funny or orders them to do something or scolds them a bit, they call mommy. Mommy calls a local newspaper and says how "horribly they treat my lil Timmy" in the military.

People are far too soft skinned, in Finland's case it is bit more acceptable since it isn't voluntary, but if you join voluntarily and complain about things like that, you should just tap out and go home. It isn't your place then, but it seems to be the case in many of these types of women. Wherever they go, they expect things around them to adapt to them and not the other way around.

And this is why I can't help but laugh every time someone pulls the "America is Policing the World" line. Its like, "Yeah it is, cause you certainly aren't doing anything to help". And then you read how small these other countries armies are in their criticisms and its like, "Brag all you want, your armies that small cause the USA pulls all the extra weight".

These are all the nodal points, if anyone has time to read without aggressiveness, fine, otherwise it would be nice to not comment.

So where's the abuse again? I'm not seeing it in that massive quote. Was it the part about telling them to be smart and careful because sexual assault is a real issue in the military? Or the part about preforming to an equal standard as the rest of their peers so they don't get their future deployed units killed?

3 consecutive pullups?

I remember doing 52 pullups when I was in the Army. That was 30 years ago

I've read somewhere that some women tried to get into the Rangers and they all failed basic training. Some believe the requirements should be lowered.

I believe this to be a load of horse s**t.

The requirements should remain, and if you are a woman you should have to meet the same requirements as your male counterparts. If you can do that, then truly you are an equal.

But I'm not in the military, so I can't say much.

Yeah, I'm sure when the enemy captures them, they'll be interrogated with sock puppets and a feather duster. I'm sure the interrogator will ask them if they'd like to be woken up with a cup of tea and bicy in the mornings too.

What's a bicy? Do you mean a biscuit?

Because I wouldn't mind getting woken up with a cup of tea and a biscuit in the morning  ;)

Germano also "reinforced gender bias and stereotypes" in the minds of her Marines by telling them on several occasions that male Marines would not take orders from them and would see them as inferior if they could not meet men's physical standards, the investigation found.

"S-she told us they wouldn't see us as equals if we couldn't keep up with then ;_;"

Did lol.

At the end of US Army basic training, I did my 2 mile run in 17 minutes. I would have done it faster if I hadn't slowed down briefly to yell encouragement to someone in my squad. Make it hurt, drill sergeant!

That is still slow. You wouldn't even have placed in a high school JV track meet.

Well look at sports.  The Women's Tennis for example. How many sets in your average match with males, and then how many with females? Equality yay.
